Deerpark Restaurant-Biltmore Estate
I would not recommend this place to my friends, like me, who have kids.
When I show up to a restaurant 15 minutes before my reservation, I expect to wait 15 minutes. I do not expect to be told that the wait is at LEAST 30 minutes long.
It is a beautiful location. The food and the service was excellent as always. There is a large selection of food and well presented. The only thing I was disappointed in was the wait. We had a reservation and still had to wait a half an hour for our table. That was disappointing.
Waiter never brought birthday plate even after I reminded him
Absolutely delicious! I can not wait to return. The best biscuits n gravy ever plus superb sausages and crisp bacon. Too many items to mention them all but all I can say is I’m glad I decided to go!
Had reservations at 10AM, but did not get seated until after 10:15AM. Hostess was not attentive. The host who seated us was pleasant and made for the seating error. Service was great and food was good. Tables are tight.
Always a great time. And neal was lots of fun !!!
When we first arrived, almost every food item was completely empty. We were very unhappy, since we were paying so much to eat lunch. They did end up getting most items stocked, before we left. They never did stock butter of any kind. Some of the breads were finally replenished, but we were then too full to eat them.
We did end up leaving full, but there were a few items I would have liked to have tried, but once they were refilled, I was too full.
Thank you for the birthday dessert for my husband, it made it extra special.
Despite having a reservation for a late lunch a majority of the food items were out when we arrived. Many people were just standing around waiting for items to be replenished. We are regular customers, and annual pass holders to Biltmore Estate. It was sad to see new customers trying to gauge the problem. Staff just ignored us while we waited instead of just addressing the problem. Some items never were restocked - disappointing.
We always enjoy going to Deer Park for a meal. The meal Saturday was very good. While all was good, with the exception of the desserts, which were better than in the past; the salads and meat were great, but we did not find many foods in those categories that were truly outstanding in taste as we do sometimes there. Despite this, it is always a pleasure to go to Deer Park for a meal, and I hope it will continue to be a special place for a special occasion.
The food was just ok... It was a bit cold and there wasn't a large selection. The desserts were great, but everything else was mediocre at best. Also, live music... not my favorite thing. The restaurant was gorgeous though!
My new favorite restaurant at Biltmore!!! It was such an amazing experience and everything was so delicious. The dessert bar was fabulous!!!
Great experience. Lunch was wonderful, staff was nice. We came fir my dads birthday. He really enjoyed our time.
I was seated at about 1:40 and was disappointed by the condition of the buffet tables. They were quite messy, serving utensils loaded with food, steamer trays empty or mostly empty, plates missing, etc. The food, while mostly delicious, was often barely warm. The crowds had diminished from earlier, yet I still waited longer than expected for my first iced tea, and had to ask twice and wait for a refill. (refill lacked ice and a fresh lemon slice) Especially disappointing was the individual eggs benedict that I waited for (they were all out for a few minutes), and when I was handed one straight from the kitchen it was not only room temperature, but had obviously been made quite awhile earlier- dried out hash brown potato base.
My main 'complaint' is that I expected much more based on the price and reputation of this famous Sunday brunch.
The food and drink are excellent. Sweet potato au grautin with butternut squash was delicious. My father told me that potatoes au gratin was his favorite, I wish he could have enjoyed the sweet potatoes I had at Deer Park. Look forward to another brunch at Deer Park.
I always look forward to Sunday brunch when I visit the Biltmore. The changing menu continues to bring me back.
I miss the lunch items! The breakfast offerings are great, but there seem to be less choices for the lunch items. They should consider increasing the price by $5-8 and bringing back the previous offerings. Like fried chicken, ham, roast beef, mac and cheese, cheese wedges, raw shrimp. I only get to visit twice a year but really miss all of those items!
We had a wonderful brunch despite it being crowded. I forget our servers name but she is Jamaican and was wonderful and very committed to caring for our children during our meal. We were also seated next to Whit who has gone out of his way for us in the past. Wonderful staff.
Our party of 4 were seated at a table that should only be used for 2. Hardly had room for our plates and drinks. There were larger open tables.
Food was very good, and choices were ample. Omlet and French Toast were not tried as lines to obtain an wait was too long. Music from where we sat felt too synthesized and all we really could hear was the bae.
My experience at Deer Park was so great, I ended up buying a season pass. Excellent all around
More crowded than usual, servers were a little overloaded with extra tables, etc. Service was good but a little less personable than normal. This was last weekend of Passholders Appreciation so crowd was expected. Food still quite good.
We enjoyed our lunch at Deer Park Inn. It was delicious, wonderful service, we plan to return in the future.
The buffet was always out of food and no clean dinner plates without asking
DeerPark is always the restaurant to visit while at Biltmore Estate. The menu changes with the seasons, and items are exceptional.
We’ve been to Deerpark several times, including during Passholder Aspiration, and usually everything is first class, but this visit was not as good as the others. I will say that the number of people was up significantly from visits in the past, but this should have been anticipated.
They ran out of plates several times and people had to wait several minutes for clean ones to be brought out. Ironically, there were a lot of dirty plates still on the tables waiting to be cleared. There were a number of times that a particular food item ran out and again it took several minutes to replace it. This was not lost on a number of people who expressed their frustrations to others, including myself, while they waited.
I realize that all this may be unusal as it was during the last weekend of passholder appreciation, so traffic was up significantly. However, it is still out “go to place” to eat at Biltmore, and I hope that this visit was an exception rather than the new norm.
The best value on the Estate. Food is always delicious and bountiful. Lovely ambiance. I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!!
excellent food served in a pleasant atmosphere with an open central patio.
We go there at least 4x a year. We love it! A great value especially for passholders. We continue to be passholders mainly for being able to eat at Deerpark. It is our 1 luxury we give ourselves.
It's usual very good. I arrived about 1:20 for a 1:30 p.m. lunch reservation. The place was packed. Apparently they are not good at managing unexpected "walk ins" so they don't honor the time of the reservation at all. A table was finally ready about 2:00 p.m.
Had to wait 45 minutes for a reserved table. The service and food was very good.
An excellent dining experience in keeping with the hospitality and ambience synonymous with the Vanderbilt name. We came to celebrate my dad's 83rd birthday with a special meal in a special place. Our gracious server, Icylin, was so attentive and she even surprised Dad with a "Happy Birthday" message in chocolate. I knew when she approached our table with a bright, welcoming smile that she was going to be delightful . . . and she was.
It was especially nice when Maurice Skanes, Banquet Supervisor, stopped by our table to ask about our meal and to congratulate Dad on his birthday. Before retiring, Dad brought (probably thousands) of customers of GE, his employer, to Biltmore for dacades, and yesterday was his turn to be the guest of honor. It was lovely, and Dad even described it as "one of my best birthdays ever!". Thank you, Deerpark, Biltmore Estate, Open Table, and everyone involved in creating such a wonderful memory for each of us in my family. We will return soon and often. Thank you frim a very grateful heart,
After touring the Biltmore house where everything seems to be focused on excellence, the Sunday brunch at Deerpark was less than inspiring. After reading the menu ahead of time, we were excited to try the variety of dishes they had lined up. The reality is that most of the dishes were bland and very few were worth getting seconds. There were a few good items: the chicken, house-made pickles, and blueberry-lemon bomb dessert. Other than that, it was mediocre and we felt it was not worth what we paid.
The food was good as we always expect it to be, but this was our worst experience we've ever had there. It was busy, however, lots of food was not being replenished as quickly as it should be, no plates in sight, but the worst was our server. We had to try to flag her down or ask someone else to get her for us to get refills on coffee, etc. After initially seating us, she never came back to check on us one time without our trying to find her until she brought the bill. We also had to clear our plates from our table as they weren't being removed either. It was definitely not a smooth experience as they seem ill-prepared for the crowd or under staffed - not what you expect there.
Sunday brunch is heaven on earth! From the made to order omelets and choice of meat, to the seafood chowder and black eyed peas to that incredible chocolate ganache that makes you question why you would ever diet, the food here is incredible and um positive you'll find your favorites that will call you back over and over again, just as I have! Sunday brunch is busy; even with a reservation we had to wait 10 minutes but absolutely worth the wait!
My husband food, atmosphere, etc. was wonderful. Would not think twice about returning with out of town guests.
Sunday brunch was excellent and service was v. good. The only issue would be some of the food was cold; it appears they brought food out from the back kitchen where it sat.
The food and service was awesome! The staff were very polite and attentive.
Waiter was average compared to previous great service.
Food tends to be very similar to last few menus. Need more variety.
Always good, great atmosphere, helpful staff. Best value going away on Biltmore Estate.
Nice experience. Enjoyed the ambiance. Our server was rather unpleasant which was surprising but we liked it apart from that.
