Deerpark Restaurant-Biltmore Estate Ratings and Reviews
We had a group of 4 adults with varied tastes among us. We all enjoyed the food immensely. The variety and quality of salads, vegetables, and desserts were awesome! The main courses were kept fresh and warm. Our server was wonderful, friendly, and thoughtful. We loved the option of paying ahead of time. We have dined here twice now and definitely will every time we come to Biltmore!
I have been to the Deerpark Inn several times and and have never had a bad meal. The food id good but nothing to write home about. On this recent visit the buffet was all that was available. There was an adequate selection as one of us is vegetarian, one is a picky eater and the other is lactose intolerant. Our server, Neal was great but the two people we encountered upon entering the restaurant were less than hospitable. I will likely try another place off of the property the next time I visit .
Absolutely overpriced. $39 Per person at dinner for the buffet, and I wouldn’t consider it a buffet. Options for meat and sides were very limited. Food was decent at best. Wasn’t impressed at all with dessert. Service and ambience were great. You are basically paying for your convenience at Biltmore.
We were lucky enough to be enjoying the Luncheon Buffet at Deer Park in the midst of a snow storm on December the 8th, 2017. We were there well ahead of our reservation time but we were welcomed and seated right away. Our window table looked out onto the Center Courtyard which featured a beautiful evergreen tree all decked out in it Christmas Finery.. The lovely setting was only to be outdone by the Buffet. Every selection from soup and salad to the desserts was outstanding.
We absolutely loved the Deer Park Restaurant. We were at the restaurant 12/08/17, celebrating my Birthday on the Estate. The buffet was wonderful and we were very happy that we chose it. The snow that fell that day was beautiful and just added to the overall excitement of our day. Your staff was wonderful, from helping to clear the sidewalks to your waitstaff. Thanks making our experience such a pleasant one.
The best restaurant on the Estate and perhaps in Asheville if cost is a consideration. The food is always great as is the service. You cannot beat the quantity and quality of dishes available for the price. It is being discovered by more and more people and can be quite busy on Saturday. During this month, they will open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with Saturday and Sunday being the busiest times. There is an excellent team that keeps the dishes coming to the buffet and the used dishes off the table. You will not be disappointed with this restaurant and know you will be telling your friends.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice. The location is very convenient if you're visiting or staying at the Biltmore. The reservation process could use some improvement, though. If you book through Open Table on the same day they will not have your name on the reservations list. We booked the morning we wanted to come in for lunch and waited for 1/2 hour to be seated. Also, there is no way to contact a person at the restaurant besides leaving a voicemail and waiting for a call back. Overall we had a good meal here.
We had a fantastic time. The place was decorated for Christmas and was just beautiful. Very nice array of food offerings on the buffet. Everything was tasty and you could eat as much as you liked. You could carry on a conversation because the noise level was kept to a minimum. It is a very special place for out of town guests or friends. I would go back again and again. The staff did a very nice job as well.
While staying at the Biltmore Inn, we decided to try the Deerpark Restaurant. When we arrived the place was nearly empty. This should have been our warning to leave and eat somewhere else. However, we took a chance and were so sorry that we did. The foods had been sitting on the buffet for hours and vegetables were mushy and tasteless. The turkey and dressing were both so dry, I nearly choked. The salmon was also dry and fishy tasting. The prime rib was so tough, I could barely saw through it with my knife. The desserts were plentiful, but so sweet and all seemed to taste alike-not good at all. Overall, we were extremely disappointed, especially for the price. The worst part was that we both had upset stomachs the rest of the weekend. Do NOT eat at the Deer Park!
We had a wonderful experience in every way when we visited the Biltmore with the exception of the Deer Park restaurant. The prime rib was tough and chewy. The dressing was rock hard on the top and gummy on the bottom. The waitstaff was no better than one would expect at Cracker Barrel. I noticed that many of the staff members were wearing unpressed shirts, chatting in the dining room and being very loud in the kitchen.
About the only part of our dinner that was good were the dessert offerings. We have high expectations for Deer Park, but did not find it to be nearly the quality of the rest of the property.
The Deerpark Restaurant is a lovely and historic space for lunch on the Biltmore Estate. As passholders, we especially enjoy lunch during the holiday festivities because of the decorations and ambience.
The quality of the food is excellent; it’s particularly good value for weekday lunch. It’s quite nice. (We’ve not been to an evening buffet during the Candlelight Christmas season).
DeerPark was a great experience. I had previously dined there but some of my family had not so they were very complimentary of the food, the service, and the atmosphere. I would reccommend it to other people.
I do have one suggestion. I am a pass holder and it would be nice if I had the option of bringing a guest to Deerpark for lunch on Friday and Saturday as I do on Sunday.
This is the third time have eaten at Deerpark and we recommended it to a friend of my sister's who will be visiting the area in December. The food was delicious and we love the atmosphere. We brought our mom to the Biltmore over Thanksgiving, this year, and wanted her to experience the Deerpark Restaurant. She loved it as well.
We arrived early for our reservation and were seated immediately and without issue. The hostess was quite welcoming and friendly. The food presentation was excellent, the food itself delicious and if not for a few minor issues with the service, I would have rated Deerpark overall as outstanding. The server was table side within a few minutes of being seated, took our beverage order (buffet dining). We chatted for a few minutes and then meandered to the buffet, upon returning from the buffet the drinks still had not arrived, after perhaps another 3 or 4 minutes the waiter did return, but with 3 of the 4 beverages incorrect. On a positive note it only took a minute or two for him to return with the correct beverages. Our brunch was part of a package with the Biltmore inclusive of buffet, non alcoholic beverages and tip. The waiter had collected our buffet ticket upon taking the drink order and "forgot" about the ticket when delivering the check. Therefore, the check had to be adjusted to reflect only alcoholic beverages, unfortunately upon returning with the corrected check, it was noted to still be incorrect, as the sodas were still included on the check. Thus another trip to to the computer and manager approval to remove the erroneous charges was necessitated and apparently the waiter had a difficult time with locating the manager, as it took a considerable amount of time again.
I must say the meal package was an outstanding value!!!!
This was our second trip o Deerpark Restaurant, and we have not been disappointed either time. Such a wide variety of dishes to try, and all are excellent. The wait staff, greeters and chef all do an excellent job. And, I can't say enough good things about reserving through Open Table. We will definitely be repeating this experience.
