Deco Blue Restaurant & Lounge - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
Terrible service. Waiter brought food to my dining companion but never brought my food. I had to flag down another waitress - she sent over the manager. He told me my order would be coming out shortly. About 5 minutes later my food was delivered. Wrong order. They delivered a club sandwich rather than a Cuban. By that time I didn't have time for them to try to correct the order - I kept the wrong sandwich. The manager did remove the cost for the sandwich from my bill which was appreciated. Unfortunately the tip was still 18% - automatically calculated - the waiter didn't earn it!
This was not a good spot for NYE celebration. It was very sparse and the ambience sucked. It appears to be an ok spot for a day time hang because of its proximity to the beach. Didn't think it was worth spending $130+/pp there.
The place was nice, cocktails interesting, food was good, especially the salmon, and the waitress and service was excellent. However there was very little atmosphere and the place was dead. Not sure why but explains how I could get a reservation before 9.00. However, if staying at the hotel certainly worth a try. Reasonably priced.
Visited the restaurant for Mother's Day. A bit skeptical as this is usually a busy day all around and service is not always what it should be. But so glad I took the chance! Restaurant was perfect! Service and food was excellent, and a fantastic view to boot! Only thing I would have added was a little music, live even better! Plan to go back for sure!
I booked this after seeing other reviews that were favorable, and was seeking a beach with a view. We had a 6 hour layover in MIA, so thought we'd have a fun chance to take our 2 teens to a place where we could eat good food and enjoy the view.
Fish tacos (blackened) were good, they had burgers that were pretty good. Overall, the food didn't strike us as spectacular, just decent. Service was poor, even though there weren't that many people in the restaurant and it didn't seem busy anywhere. So for the price you pay, you expect good service and great food. We didn't get either.
Don't get me wrong, it wasn't horrible. Just not worth the value for what you pay for a burger or fish tacos, and the service you should receive. The view was nice but couldn't make up for the misses on food quality and service delivery.
We enjoyed the special four course dinner indoors due to high winds at the Marriott Stanton Hotel. Our server was a lovely woman from eastern Europe knowledgeable about the menu choices. Starting with Valet parking (a must at dinner in South Beach, Miami Florida) and a glass of Champagne and closing with a decaf Cappuccino with heart shaped foamed milk, it was a great evening.
The funny part was dining in a room where Marriott had just spent $10M+ to restore it to the Art Deco era. When I first arrived, I thought that Marriott had just bought the hotel and were planning reservations. I was soon corrected that the Art Deco Commission had to approve the renovations that restored it back to the Art Deco era. Dine like your grandparents would have loved to
Great place to have lunch in South Beach. The restaurant is located on the second floor and you get ocean views while having a drink or food. The service was good but they were slow but it was a busy Sunday morning. Totally understandable. I will come back and bring more out of town friends to Deco.
Employees were friendly but seemed overwhelmed. Service was slow, food arrived late, had to ask for the wine list twice and the wine only arrived in the middle of the second course.
Ice for the bottle never arrived... They kept moving tables around while we were having dinner, so... so much for environment.
On a positive note the food was really good and the place is nice, if they can keep themselves from rearranging the room while people are having dinner.
My partner and I dined at the restaurant for New Years Eve and whilst the food really was very good, the service was terrible. The servers were friendly but it felt like they arrived for work that day and were not informed of how to serve the guests. If you are going to serve an Amuse Bouche do so before the Starter and please check that the guests have had plates cleared from the Starter course BEFORE you try to serve the Main course. These are simple elements that you would expect from any restaurant but Deco Blue were not able to follow. It was a shame because the food really was very good but until the servers are given better training I couldn't recommend dining at the restaurant to others.
This was one of the best restaurant experiences my family and I could have asked for. We had just arrived in Miami after a long trip from Key West. The restaurant, located in the same building as the Marriott, is under new/different than Marriott.
This restaurant is the definition of how to create a raving fan-having an establishment create an above and beyond experience that will want customers to return and recommend the business or services he/she were given. Anytime I am in Miami, I will go to Deco Blue because of the ambience, service and product. Upon arrival, Deco has an incredible view of the Atlantic Ocean (restaurant is right on Miami Beach). The impeccable service waited on us hand and foot andtook care of anything that my family and I needed. Though it was a light night for the restaurant with staff on hand, all staff was constantly moving and were motivated to deliver incredible service. The food was out of this world. We had sushi rolls as an appetizer (extremely fresh), shrimp salad and crab spaghetti(huge hit). The restaurant was out of the crab and spaghetti, however the server came back to us last minute and said they had extra available. Exquisite taste! It was an amazing 5 star experience.
This is an example of an awesome experience and how a few positive acts really change a person's day around from a long, aggravating day to a memorable evening. This will be the first restaurant I will recommend and send people towards if they are visiting in Miami Beach. Thank Deco Blue for creating a raving fan!
I had made a reservation days in advance for my girlfriend's birthday as we were a group of 6-7people. When we arrived, they had a table ready (not too hard as there was only 1 or 2 other tables taken only.. very quiet on a wednesday).
Our waiter was extremely nice but the food took 45min or more to arrive. Unacceptable considering we had reserved and they knew ahead of time we would be a large group.
The manager eventually came to apologize and offered us to put one of our bottle of wine on the house. But still .. It was still unfortunate especially as we had a special birthday celebration.
The restaurant itself is fine, but not as great as on the pictures and the food was good too. However, it was very very quiet and not too great for a big group there to celebrate.
I took my husband to this restaurant because of the view, we were celebrating our 14 years of merriage and i was looking for a restaurant with a romantic ambiance and Deco Blue was i expected. The restaurant is right at the beach in south beach Miami, you can eat and have some drinks feeling the breeze and watching the sea. The food was excellent i had a roasted chicken with fried yuka, i recommend it, and my husband had grilled salmon with vegetables. The service was awesome our waitress did everything for us to enjoy the evening and the prices for the plates were reasonable.
This restaurant is simply amazing! Held my birthday dinner here and the ambiance was simply amazing... The waiters were courteous and attentive, the scenary was amazing (right on the water) and the food and drinks were delicious!!! I would definitely recommend this gem to my friends and family and I would definitely return...
This restaurant was very nice and located in the Deco part of South Beach. However, the brunch was VERY expensive ($50.00) for one person and did not offer anything new or different for a brunch. The food was adequate, but $50.00 is way too much for eggs and bacon.
Truthfully the food was not the best and is EXTREMELY overpriced. However, the ambience both inside and outside made the expereience worth it. Inside the restaurant was trendy yet inviting. The hostest was welcoming from first glance as we approached. We chose to sit outside which was picture perfect. In plesant weather the outside seating is calm, quite, with a beautiful view of the beach. By far we had the best server the restarant could offer in the person of Shamara. Therefore, if you have a few extra coins, want to impress a guest, and take a trip away from the norm...then Deco Blue is worth it to you.
I came here with 4 friends from DC to celebrate my birthday on a Sunday night. The outside seating was beautiful with ocean views and a very peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Miami Spice was going on and the food was excellent. Three of us ordered off the Miami Spice menu adn 2 had regular items. Everyone was happy with their food! The staff was amazing! Very attentive.
