The ambiance was romantic. The food was delicious. The service was on point. The fireplace sealed the deal for our future dinners here.
EVERYTHING is First Rate... the food, the service and the decor. Our Server Freddy was AMAZING! Was there on Saturday, September 6th @ 5:30PM with my Hubby and boy did it fill up fast. Try the Meatball Sliders as an appetizer and finish off your meal with the Banana Caramel Cheesecake Xangos... YUMMY!!! Shout out to Samantha the Hostess!!!
Loved the fireplace. The hostess, waiter, and bartender were all very attentive and pleasant.
We ordered the grilled romaine salad-delicious as was the osso bucca and ahi tuna.
We had 8pm reservations. Restaurant was closing early. They re-opened, gave us a private room, and the food was great. No one rushed us out, and we had a great time.
Service wasn't good... Our waiter was awkward and took forever to get us our food... Food did not taste good, it was bland and didn't taste fresh. The restaurant was clean but you can tell this is a place only for people to come after gambling at the stakes... I wouldn't recommend it.
Enjoyed the Osso Bucco and hubby loved the rack of lamb.
Staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating. Food was very good. Portion size good. Last reservations are 8:30 and kitchen closes at 9:00. Nice crowed early on, but by 9:30 the place clears out. Only negative was 20% fixed tip.
best kept secret. great food and great service. quiet and quaint. beautiful bar
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our entrees. The service was impeccable and friendly. My filet was one of the best I have ever had. Even the vegetables and side dishes were amazing. Definitely ask to be seated by the fireplace, it adds a special touch to the evening. A very relaxing experience!
Had been here a couple of times - always great food and service! My favorite is the parpardelle with the short rib sauce - YUM! Had the flourless chocolate cake. My sister had the banana dessert. next time - I am getting the banana dessert!
The restaurant is nicely decorated but a little loud. The food and the service was very good. We had a Living Social voucher which was an excellent deal, the prices were quite reasonable, I would definitely go back again and recommend Deco 1600 to others.
Took a long time to get a reservation. If you call they never have a time that is convenient. If you use open table which I prefer there were no times available the day we wanted to go so we chose another day an according to open table there was onlt one time slot. We arrived early ti experience the bar and they sat us right away at 540 with a reservation of 6. Yhe same 7 tables were open our entire dinner. So not sure why they state there are mo other time slots when you call or go online. Qiite strange yet the food is the true experience. Amazing.
I would highly recommend. Food was very good, service was excellent well informed and very friendly and helpful. We will be gong back.
My wife was at a conference next door. Wanted to get out of hotel with no car, booked at Deco had an excellent meal. Service was great(Thanks Juan for the recommendations), Food was awesome and we sat in front of the fireplace on a snowy nite! Move to the Twin Cities please!!!
We went on a Tues nite and we were the only people in the place for the whole nite Lovely fireplace food good nice price
This was my second time at the restaurant. The first time I went with my husband (about 6 months ago) we had a great experience - the food was delicious and the service was excellent. That's why when I went again with a girlfriend recently I was so disappointed. The waiter was abrupt, unpersonable and checked in on us only once after we were pretty much done with our meals. If he was our waiter the first time I never would have gone back. Also, we ordered pasta and both our meals were just average.
All this said, I would still recommend this place to a friend for a date night because the ambience is great. I would just cross my fingers that they get a better waiter and advise them to order the lamb like I did the first time.
I would definitely return to Deco 1600 when in the area, an excellent overall dining experience
The restaurant was very nice, quiet and cozy. The staff was very pleasant as well.
Everything was good but no dessert on menu or offered! We were given bill before we could ask about dessert! Not too many choices and cheescake we ordered was plain with no presentation!
Waiter was amazing, believe it was Juan, it was my husbands Celebration and he made it special with some extras! Food as usual was excellent, nice and quiet, never had a bad meal, I believe weve eaten here about 6 or 7 times, with other couples, loved it!
My wife ordered steak medium, it came out well done. Whe we told the waiter about it he proceeded to check his write up and said yes you ordered medium. The steak was well done. He comes around the table bends over to get a closer look at my wifes steak and says 'I see a tinge of pink in there'... and tries to walk away. We tell him she is not eating it and reluctently asks if we would like the cook to make another steak.
Good food----Good Service* What else is there to say???
Iv'e eaten at Deco about five or six times. Most of them Iv'e ordered the Tuna which was excellent but last night it was not good. They must have changed their supplier. It was tough, a little stringy and had a fishy taste. I hope they switch back. I'll give it one more chance. But if it's not good, I won't be going back.
Where can you go today, where you can enjoy a beautiful fireplace, have good food plus have a conversation at the table without having to talk over "the noise" of the crowd that's in every restaurant today? The answer...Deco 1600. Service was excellent and we enjoyed our dinner. We will return.
Food is usually good. They were out of some items on the menu however which was disappointing. We had a 8:00pm reservation. We were told we needed to order around 8:30 because the kitchen was going to close. Well why do you accept 8:00pm reservations then for a party of 5 who will take at least 1.5 hours? All of our entrees were good. However upon paying the check we did not notice the gratuity was automatically applied and we tipped in addition. The server did not mention the grat was on there. When trying to get in contact with someone at the restaurant we just keep getting an answering machine. Been here once before and it was great. This time seemed to be a little off.
Had Caesar Salad and Bacon Wrapped Shrimp to start, then Osso Buco........... all perfect. Noice wines at reasonable prices.
The new chef has transformed a very good hidden gem into an exceptional place to dine. The ambiance is lovely, the wait staff attentive and pleasant, and the food is really good and plentiful. Oh yes and parking is easy. What more are you looking for?
Unfortunately, I cannot reccomend this restaurant. I ordered a pizza and it was very bland with practically no cheese. MY husband's chicken dish also lacked flavor. we ordered wine which had a generous por. the room is very pretty, however we will not be going back.
A lot of thought went into the design of this lavish dining room. Take yourself back to the Art Deco era with attentive service and wonderful food.
The waiters were very nice and personable but it took an hour for our main courses to be brought to our dinner table. The guy in the table next to us had to call the attention of the hostess, that it was taking too long for the food to come.
Osso Buco was great and so were thye salads we started with.
Nice assortment of reasonably priced wines.
Second time at Deco 1600, this time with friends. Great selection of food, really nice ambience, food is good. Room for improvement: A little training is needed with the waiter. Also, the open flamed candle on the table is dangerous. Would we go back? Likely.
While the menu is limited the food is always top notch and plentiful. The ambiance is lovely. Beautiful woodwork and a fireplace can be very romantic.
The restuarant was smaller than I envisioned. Beautiful art deco woodwork and a lovely fireplace. Food was very good as was the service. I would have given the service an "outstanding" rating but we had to wait too long for the waiter to return to the table for coffee refills and for the check. Unless you are starving, I recommend that you choose a "Primi" or "Secondi" course as your main dish. If the order both (pasta and main entre), it is too much food - especially if you order an appetizer and/or salad as well. This is not a family style serving but portions are large enough for two to share. The dessert menu is conserative. Standard pecan pie, apple pie, brownie, etc. All good but nothing "special".
With the fireplace giving this place some real personality, we enjoyed waiting between courses just being mesmorized by the roaring fire. The home made mozzarella was outstanding, and a very generous portion taking up the entire plate. Likewise the fresh tuna, cooked/seared perfectly, and my short ribs pappardelle was enjoyable. The wine list not only was comprehensive, but very reasonably priced. We will be back!
We had never been here before. We had an early dinner 5:30, before a show. We were pleasantly surprised. The ambiance of the room was very nice and we were seated by the fireplace. The waiter was excellent as was the food. There were four of us and we each enjoyed our meal. No complaints. We would come dine here again.
Had a problem with one entree and they handled it beautifully so they got an outstanding for service. The other four entrees were absolutely delicious and have been every time we have gone here. Every restaurant has a problem now and then, but how they handle it sets the good ones apart. I was very impressed with their handling of it and will be going back again instead of being turned off. Great job Deco 1600. clap, clap!!
The food and the service was great. Was a little noisey. Great find.
Food was decent. Service was VERY slow.
food was good, and the service alright. We we seated right away by a very friendly hostess. The noise level was so loud that we could not hear each other even though we were sitting right next to one another. I do not think we will spend much time at this restaurant.
