We were there to celebrate a childhood friend's birthday. The food and service were great, as usual.
We live nearby and have been to Decarli many times. We love the food, service, ambiance, really everything, but on this visit the noise level was quite a problem. Friday night, lots of groups, where we were seated, I'm not sure what it was, but we couldn't wait to get out. Don't remember ever feeling that way there. Still love it, but maybe not on Friday night.
Decarli's is reliable-tasty food, reasonable portions and process, attentive wait staff. ambiance is a little sterile and the place gets noisy. Kitchen can be slow.
Amazing as always!
Every time we visit DeCarli's we are amazed! The food is fantastic, service unsurpassed!
My brother was in town and we wanted to take him somewhere nice for dinner. Dicali's came to mind because it is, heard tell, the best restaurant in Beaverton. All three of us were extremely pleased with the food, service, atmosphere and ambience of the restaurant. The choices were so amazing and it was difficult to choose because they all looked good!!!! We will definitely be back!!!
Wonderful as usual. Great menu options and amazing apps. Their signature cocktails are amazing, so is the service!
As always, DeCarli's entrees were masterpieces of flavor. My group had three of the four pasta dishes and they were all wonderful
I would recommend it if they like short ribs as that is the only viable meat option. Too bad they did away with the hanger steak - it was the best steak I ever had!
Service was lacking. Started out strong and seriously ended. We had to ask another waiter to help up us as ours was nowhere to be found. Will we come back? Probably, but only because Beaverton is lacking options. But we won’t be back for quite awhile. We’ll go downtown Portland first!
Food was amazing, open windows would have been nice to help the noise level. Overall we had a wonderful experience!
Looking for a great restaurant for a birthday celebration with family... This was not it. Way too dark and noisy.. Took two hours to get our food and no one ever came to check on us or refill drinks.
This one was a bit of a mixed bag for me. We made an early reservation, but not the earliest available, but when we arrived (about 10 minutes early), they said they weren't even seating in the dining room yet. No big deal, we stood outside for a few until someone came to get us. The rest of the service was quite good.
We ordered the polenta fries which were fantastic and the charcuterie board which was ok, but nothing special (usually the menu will describe main components on a board, but this time the menu describes everything, there are no nuts, olives, honey, cheese, additional).
For dinner, I had the basil pesto Pizzetta, and it was excellent. Our son and his girlfriend had the Beef Shortribs and the Brick roasted chicken, and they both were super happy with those choices.
Bottom line, it was a very nice choice for us, a little on the expensive side, but the food was commensurate with price.
The appetizers were creative and tasty but I was underwhelmed with my chicken entree-- the eggplant and okra were mushy and the entire dish was just not good. Really enjoyed the cocktails, the wine selection and the ambiance despite the very many children present. Service was ok. With so many restaurants to choose from on the east side, I doubt we'd make the trip again to eat here.
Slow Slow Slow. Seemed significantly understaffed. Our server was very experienced but very overwhelmed.
What should have been 45 - 60 minute experience took twice as long.
The food was as usual very good.
A small but amazing menu. The food is spectacular. My only complaint about decarli is the noise level. It was hard to have a conversation with someone across the table. All you need is one rowdy party two tables over and the evening is kinda shot. Go early if noise is an issue for you.
Fresh made pasta, special appetizers each day, wonderful flavors. Cooks are amazing, atmosphere special and they are always glad you are there
Good options for g-free and d-free allergies including meat and fish. Wine list is very good with reasonably-priced Brunello for those who like Italian.
Food and ambiance was good. Service was a bit slow--5+ minutes to get a glass or wine after we ordered; food took longer than anticipated. Lively and somewhat loud space which was not an ideal match for a business dinner we had.
Would certainly recommend it to others ! Thank you.
My favorite neighborhood restaurant love the people there always work hard to do a nice job
Service was horrible. Finally just asked for boxes to take food home after drinks never ordered 15 minutes earlier never arrived. It appears this restaurant has gone downhill
Great rotating and seasonally produced menu that's well executed. Front of the house staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and efficient. Will be back!
Fabulous food, wine and service. Very creative, solid menu. It was hard to pick from so many good choices.
Decarli never disappoints!
The Appetizers, cocktails, entree’s and dessert is always spot on! The flavors, presentation and value are all top notch!
Our waiter was Mark and he is always the best, very attentive and making the dining experience always the best!
We will be back!
Overall our food was delicious. We got the polenta fries and bruschetta to start. The homemade ricotta was to die for. I also ordered the tomato and pesto salad which was very fresh and delicious. The only complaint I have is that my chicken for my entree was a little dry and the dish was a bit salty overall. My husband ordered the short ribs with spetzle and that was so tender and flavorful, kind of jealous I didn’t get that ha. The service was great and we will definitely be back!
The cheesecake after dinner was incredible! The short ribs is a must. Split the Ceaser before your meal, you won’t regret it!
Food was excellent. This is the best restaurant on the entire west side of town. Don’t miss the rib meet on spatzle. I can not believe how great the food is here. If it was downtown it would have been more for less.
Food was good as usual. The service was friendly but glacially slow.
The Menu had many amazing choices and it was hard to decide. the Mussels were a very good appetizer. I would definitely recommend Declari. It was a quiet atmosphere when we were there; however it was not a very busy time at 5PM on a warm sunny Saturday.
Food and service were very good. The room is uncomfortably loud when busy. Quiet conversation? Romantic? NO. Go for the food.
Most authentic Italian food in the area. The meat is prepared so well it made me wish I ordered 3 more dishes. The wine they offer pairs so nicely with the food. Now THE PIZZA, as an Italian it is the only pizza I have tasted in this area that is so incredibly similar to the pizza you’d have in Firenze. Incredible!
Excellent food & service. will defintely be back.
My husband is craving the gelato
We came in on a Sunday night, and it was a full house, so reservation is key. Despite that, service was warm and prompt and our waiter (didn’t catch his name) didn’t seem rushed. He spent time going over the menu, answered our questions, and made suggestions, which a couple of us took him up on. Only downside was that it was very noisy, and I had to lean in very close to hear my dinner companions.
We started off with oysters on the half shell (hammer-something) which had no grit, were very fresh and creamy, and very good plain or with the mignonette. I had a bite of the tomato pesto salad my friends were sharing, so good! I also got the spicy mango margarita, which I want to be part of my life. It was nostalgic of Mexican candy.
I ended up getting the beet salad and cazuela. The salad was good, kind of like a fruit salad, though that’s not quite what I look for in a beet salad. The cazuela was smoky and excellent, and I want to go about recreating it!
Bf got the short ribs with spaetzle and was very happy. The beef was tender and he was very intrigued with the spaetzle, which he’d never had before.
The other person got the king salmon. She found it a bit too salty, but bf and I had a taste and thought it was excellent. Very moist and tender, with a good flake.
There is a little terras on the sidewalk that looked very cozy. I might like to come back to sit there for drinks and a light meal. I would like to come back here, anyway, but maybe at a time it would be less busy.
This has to be one of my favorite dining experiences in the PDX area. Located a suburb of PDX, you would not expect to find this kind of quality in a smaller town outside Portland, but here it is. The menue changes regularly with a mix of Italian inspired dishes with some nordic influence. It is difficult to call this a Italian restaurant, certainly not traditional Italian, but the chef has it upon an incredible, unique style that is just superb. The braised beef ribs are the best.
Loved our recent visit to Decarli. Everything was delicious.
The short ribs are to die for. Enjoyed our wait staff - pleasant and
knowledgable. Great ambiance - good vibe. So happy to have
this dining experience in our own back yard! Can't wait to return!
Decarli has the best soup anywhere, always something different and always delicious. Tagliatelle with pork bolognese was great. Cappuccinos to finish. Mark provided perfect service. So lucky to have Decarli in the neighborhood!
After reading the reviews my wife and I decided to try Decarli for ourselves. We should have been warned off about the noise. The cacophonous blast hit us as soon we entered the restaurant. To be honest, it was downright painful. We were warmly greeted and taken to our table. It was a small table, set for two but we still couldn’t carry on a decent conversation because of the din. Our waiter arrived after a while and was very pleasant. He took our beverage order and then disappeared...for some time. After about fifteen minutes he returned with our drinks and took our order. After a long wait, he returned with some bread — by this time we were quite hungry. After nearly thirty minutes after we sat down our salads arrived. Both the beet salad and caesar salad were very good. But, thank goodness for the bread, because it took quite a while more until our entrees were served. My steak was quite good as was the vegetable ragu that accompanied it. My wife ordered the vegetarian pasta which was excellent, except for the fact that it was on the cold side. As the servers (ours included) were constantly scurrying about, I can only assume that the problems were due to short staffing and disorder in the kitchen. All-in-all, we had a good meal but will not likely return to Decarli.
Food very good but plating was slow...ended up have dessert comped due delay in bringing food to table. This was something friends of ours had also had issues with. The place reflects noise rather heavily.
The polenta fries were down right decedent and the squid ink pasta (I forgot the name) with shrimp was amazing. My wife loved the gnocchi which they made vegetarian for her by leaving out the pancetta. I had a lemon dessert with mint and blackberries the flavors of which worked far better than I expected and I'd already expected it to be excellent after the great meal. Our server was awesome and did a great job taking care of us. I will be back for more.
