We visit De Vere’s in Davis regularly so knew pretty much what to expect. They accommodated our request to change tables to a quieter spot. Service was OK; our server went on break during our meal so there were some handoffs that had to happen. We like De Vere’s and will continue to visit.
My wife and I had an early supper here when a Saturday event ended early. We had missed lunch so we started with their Beer Cheese Nachos. Crispy thick potato chips with beer cheese meat and gravy that are definitely worth a try. She had an Irish Mule and I went for the Rob Burns, both were excellent. She enjoyed hers enough that she had a second with her Fish and chips. The fish/chips were good and the accompanying slaw was excellent. I had my first shepherds pie. Basically a meat pie with mashed potatoes as the top crust. Good flavor and very filling. Since we had missed lunch we splurged and shared a bread pudding that was one of her favorite desserts ever. It was more like a crusted french toast than a conventional bread pudding and it was the perfect finish. Crispy and sweet on the outside with a very nice taste and texture inside. We've stopped here a couple times before for pub fare and we've never been disappointed. We will be back and I can recommend this place without reservation for casual fun and good food.
Outstanding food and cocktails!
Lunch with my brother to celebrate my birthday. Accommodating ... we were running late for our first reservation time. My brother loved the mac n cheese & my order of fish n chips were cooked very well. Fresh! My brother ordered Bread Pudding as I was still eating...I am a slow eater. We decided to split the Bread Pudding and glad we did! It was so rich...just delicious and better than Mom's! I'd been wanting to check out de Vere's for quite awhile. Next time I won't wait so long. ;)
Great food, drink, and location for a pre-show dinner in Sacramento!
delicious food and drinks! great place for dinner with friends.
Great pre-theater dinner here! The Irish Stew is so good and the fish and chips are delicious. Liked the drink list and our server was quick, friendly and made for a very pleasant meal. We'll be back again. Lively crowd on an early Saturday night.
Always a good time. Great food, service and environment. A perfect way to start a weekend.
Never been to an Irish pub so can't speak to how authentic it is to one. However, it reminded of several old bars and pubs I had visited in San Francisco and London. Great different brunch choices - I had corned beef hash with the best house potatoes...super good!
Will look for excuses to go back and explore more of the menu. Very convenient when attending a show at the Community Center.
This was our first time at de Vere's and we absolutely loved it. Good "pub food" (fish and chips, Fry up, shepherd's pie, etc). The food was good and the service was good. Fun atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!
Absolutely a wonderful place, wonderful food and had a wonderful time.
Great Irish pub in downtown Sacramento. The food was great...especially the bread pudding for dessert. We will definitely be back!
We had the this and that appetizer which was a Board with meat and cheese, olives, crackers and jam. I had Irish stew my wife had Shepard's pie with an egg on top.
Fish and chips were great, but the Irish nachos were awesome!
Food was delicious and service was good. Too loud for any conversation and no plate for bread or side dishes.
Our server was amazing and made our evening just great. Love the fish and chips!!
Very cozy and professional yet very laid-back and relaxed. We were treated like a king and queen and service was impeccable - food was Top Notch. Everything was perfect from the minute we walked through the door until we left.
Great Irish food and drinks, fun and great location. Lots of accessible parking too. It gets crowded on the weekend so nice they take reservations.
Food is very good and the selections are very soft unique. Service was excellent.
Fun place, authentic, vibrant bar scene, very reasonable prices for food - outstanding service - quick and friendly - certainly a return visit.
We really enjoyed our pre-theater dinner. Good menu; great service!
Food was excellent, service attentive but casual and friendly.
First time here and I definitely will be back. Drinks were great and the Sheppard pie I had was delicious. My girl had the Irish stew and I tasted it and it was great. Made my new year
The service and food was excellent. Always a “go to” for me.
Lot of history and consistency. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service.
Very friendly staff and we could see they were very professional. I always have the Salmon which is exquisitely savory.
Breakfast came out undercooked. I inquired about the meat on the Reuben prior to ordering and the server said it was lean and sliced thinly. Half of the meat was grisly fat and inedible. Also thick slices. I let the server know (and she saw the plate with all of sections i had to cut from the meat on a separate plate) and she said sorry. Didn't ask if she could make another one!! Don't order the Reuben. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
So gooooooooooood
Food was delicious, apps were absolutely amazing! Noise was too loud for dinning..
We love this place! The food is great and the atmosphere is fun.
First time at this establishment. Food was good. We were able to have conversation and lots of laughs. Waitress was very helpful with the menu. Only problem was low light and very small print on the menu(I'm a senior)
The food was pretty good. Good for the price.
The service was terrible. When we ordered a bottle of wine for our group it took ten minutes to get it.
After receiving our meals the waitress never returned to see it everything was ok. I had to go to the bar and get the malt vinegar. We asked for an extra plate, it never arrived.
Won’t be going back.
Great food and lively atmosphere. Service was top notch. I will definitely go back to de Vere's Irish Pub!
Food and drink was wonderful! Great service and friendly people.
This was my first visit to DeVere's and had an enjoyable experience. It was a hard choice to select from the menu as most everything looks good to me. The cheese board was a perfect appetizer to start with and the selection on the board offered high quilty cheese and meats. Will go back just for this appetizer.
The entrees all looked like winners, but opting for the Bangers and Mash was a perfect choice.
All in all DeVere's was a winner tonight.
been here many times and this place never disappoints!
This is a cute little pub, but the food choice was minimal. The only true gluten free food was a green salad. They were out of potatoes, so no shepherd's pie. After my friend placed her order, the kitchen informed her that they were also out of her selection. This was early in the evening. It probably is a good place to drink beer, though. And the server was first rate.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first dinner at de Vere's Irish Pub. The quality of the food was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. We had dinner and drinks for two for around $50 so it was a great value.
Never disappoints! Great food, great service and with our first visit for brunch, still fantastic value! Bottle of champagne and orange juice for $12, now that's a deal. And as always the group took an extra long amount of time to order because all of the food looked so good, and let me tell you: it WAS!
Was in town for one night, and wanted some comfort food. I came to the right place for the food! Unfortunately, smoking is allowed on the patio, so despite the balmy evening weather I sat inside, where it was a bit noisier. Still, the service was very good, and the Irish Stew hit the spot! I was disappointed with the bread pudding. It felt like a small piece of crispy French toast with some ice cream and bourbon sauce to hide it. Overall I would recommend de Vere's, though.
