Devere's is always the place to linger as it is the closest to being an original Irish pub in the area. And the menu has a variety of offerings - true comfort food. I've always found the service to be warm, friendly & attentive.
Plus true hand drawn Guinness - what's not to love?

DeVere's has nice atmosphere for friendly drinks and conversation. Good beer selection on tap, including San Diego beers that I like. Other groups of 4-6 like ours. We had dinner there Friday that I found fairly disappointing. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't very good. Fish'n'chips was heavy and not fresh. We shared a "bread pudding" that was more like deep fried Texas Toast.

Took a friend their for a get-together. Used OpenTable to request time but also seating in "The Library" which is usually quieter and more suited for talking and catching up with a friend. Brunch was tasty with quite a few choices. Main draw, however, is the pub-like ambiance. Would recommend for dining at any time.

Great beer, solid pub fare in a nice pub setting. Can be loud. Outdoor seating is a plus.

I like how they divided the place into two- front part for students (big group of people, pretty loud), and the back part with couch etc. (cozy and quiet). The food was good as well!

I chose de Vere’s that weekend I visited my daughter so she and I can have a nice talk without anyone eavesdropping on our conversation. De Vere’s was perfect. We didn’t have to whisper nor did we have to shout. Food did not disappoint. We had fish and chips, mac and cheese, and shepherd’s pie. The mac and cheese just had a little too much peas for my liking, but peas are easy enough to push to the side and don’t really add or take away any taste from the dish, so all’s well.

Service a little slow. Repeated special orders, but still got orders wrong. Kid's meal portions extremely small for growing children. Very poor lighting in patio area.

Stopped at this place while on a bike ride. Wanted to sit outside for lunch and found this place to be perfect. They had a great veggie burger and fries. The service was awesome. I will make it a point to go here again, maybe for Whiskey Wednesday.

The wait staff was good. By that I mean friendly and gracious. Our waitress took down our order correctly. She read it back. I have dietary restrictions re salt and garlic so I always order my food without seasoning. Seems easier on the waitperson and chef. Nope. My food was smothered in pepper and salt both. Since I was a guest I didn't want to say anything. Next time I'm in the area I will likely try this restaurant again. The menu is varied and I liked the staff. But I was disappointed with this visit.

Decent fusion between Irish with a hint of American and some ok beer choices but not great considering it is supposed to hail from that part of the World
Friendly staff, not too busy early in the week, lively on the weekends later into the night.
The odd song has been known to break out by those well lubricated clientele
All in all well worth a visit but not super authentic

We scheduled deVeres as a good centralized meeting place. We are 5 retired friends that worked together in Sunnyvale CA. We now come from Lake Tahoe, Nevada City, Santa Rosa, Los Gatos and Morgan Hill. This was an excellent choice, the food and service was great and the ambiance lent itself to quiet conversation. My Irish Stew was excellent and friends enjoyed the fish and chips. We all agreed to meet here again.

We celebrated Father's Day here and we are so glad we did! It's very much like an authentic pub-from books and games on the shelves, to dark wood paneling and stained glass, to the Guinness and other food and drinks. Our family of 5 ordered enjoyed all of the following: nachos (careful, they're spicy!), the kids' this and that plate, the bacon cheeseburger, the kids' mac and cheese, the chicken sliders (amazing!), and the shepherds pie. Everything was delicious!

We went there for Sunday brunch on a very busy weekend: UC Davis Commencement weekend + Fathers' Day. It was the only brunch place in Davis that took reservations, a big plus. There were 8 of us. Although it was crowded there are various nooks that can accommodate larger groups. The service was a little slow because it was exceptionally busy, but the brunch food was excellent and good value. I would go there again.

Food and beer was very good. Unfortunately, it was a hot weekend and their a/c could not keep the indoor seating area cool enough. Would only go back during cooler weather.

The three of us came for lunch, sat on the patio and were served almost immediately. My two guests took advantage of the breakfast menu and ordered the banana french toast with whipped cream which they both thought was quite tasty. I had the traditional cheeseburger and a caesar salad. it is a very good size burger and I took half of it home. de Vere's is always one of my "go to" restaurants when I want casual dining and comfort food.

We were seated inside. Once it started getting really loud, I asked if we could be moved outside. My father has lost hearing in one ear and gets very disoriented when it's really loud. I asked the hostess and just got "No, sorry" as a response. Not even an explanation or attempt to make it work. There were tables available outside.
When food came, fathers steak - which was the special, ribeye steak mid-well - was DEAD cold. Asked to get it taken back. Came back two minutes later, so they just microwaved the same cut. It was nuclear hot and rubbery.
Waiter was clueless. Asked him three times for another champagne flute for my mom. After the third time, he brought a lowball water glass.
Use to love this place, standards have greatly fallen. My food was flavorless and heavy, ate about a quarter of it. Boxed it up for my dog.

I've eaten at the Sacramento location about 25 times and in Davis about 12 times. Good hearty comfort food. I've missed having the salmon -- it's been off the menu recently. But OMFFFG .... the new chicken curry dish is fabulous and my new favorite!

We went for Easter Brunch and the service, ambiance and food was perfect! Everything was good-and the variety was very important to us. We had avocado toast, banana Bread French toast, eggs Benedict and the mac and cheese ! The only bummer was that they were out of one special dish. Highly recommended!

Our dining experience at de Vere's Irish Pub in Davis was, as usual, a good experience. It is a great place for more casual dining with attentive staff, tasty Irish pub style food and great ambiance. We often go there when we want a good food experience that is more casual than elegant. Prices are reasonable, making it a good value. The bar has a good selection of beers, liquors and a few decent wines. Would recommend de Vere's to anyone (children welcomed and your dog can join you on the patio.)

It was actually a quiet, slower Saturday at DeVere's, however we had terrible service with our party of 10. It took an hour and a half to get a glass of water and at least 45 minutes before we ordered our dinner; yes we did order appetizers firs,t but come on we wanted to order our dinner. Even to get our dishes cleared and the check took a bit of work and I had to walk the bill over to the server. Overall, the food and drinks are good, just service is undesirable.
