We came for a birthday dinner and our waiter (didn’t catch his name) wasn’t friendly and seemed annoyed by us. Might come again
It was great!
I've been to deVere's many times over the years, it's ALWAYS amazing! I have never left disappointed or hungry... This place is definitely a staple in our restaurant repertoire.
Came in for dinner for first time, enjoyed everything. Will definitely add this to the list of restaurants we use.
Made reservations through Open Table for seven people for brunch on a Sunday. We arrived on time and were immediately seated in a semi-private area. Entire party had meals from the menu and were pleased with the results. Overall a pleasant experience.
Irish coffee is as good as the Buena Vista. Can't get better than that.
Excellent service & wonderful discussion of beers, beer making & complimentary food options.
Good fun & conversation on the patio.
The Scottish Salmon was delicious as was the Smithwick Red Ale. Very crowded and noisy but it was also a Saturday night. Made reservations, which was wise. Will definitely come back.
Our server was SLOW. We’d love to come back for another lunch, but we’d request another server. The food was good, as was the ambiance.
Favorite restaurant in Davis since it opened. We love our local and make a point of going at least once a month if not twice. Three times if we can manage it. The kids love it, we love it. And it's always betters with friends.
Had a great meal with excellent service, but encountered a rude hostess upon arrival.
We eat at de Vere's Irish Pub in Davis more than any other restaurant in town. Highly recommended for the excellent food and service. Five stars.
We were there for a low-key bachelor send-off. The reservation and check-in process was smooth. We ended up with a good seating location; staff was accommodating and helpful, but not intrusive. The food was good, and their Irish coffee is amazing. Cozy atmoshere. Would definitely go back.
This was a good place to take my son and his family who live in Japan.
We had a group of of 8 people including two 80 year olds. We had requested the couch seating area and were accommodated. It was a little quieter and was very comfortable .
We brought my 80+ year old parents prior to heading to the Mondavi Center. Shepard’s Pie was good and flavorful. My folks Monte Cristo was good, but over cooked. My daughter’s hamburger was very tasty and my husband ordered the potato brunch dish, which he loved. The long upholstered beach along the wall should be reupholstered, due to the fabric ripped and hanging. Besides that the rooms where well laid out and cozy. Our server was very attentive and nice. We will return.
Devere's is always the place to linger as it is the closest to being an original Irish pub in the area. And the menu has a variety of offerings - true comfort food. I've always found the service to be warm, friendly & attentive.
Plus true hand drawn Guinness - what's not to love?
DeVere's has nice atmosphere for friendly drinks and conversation. Good beer selection on tap, including San Diego beers that I like. Other groups of 4-6 like ours. We had dinner there Friday that I found fairly disappointing. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't very good. Fish'n'chips was heavy and not fresh. We shared a "bread pudding" that was more like deep fried Texas Toast.
Took a friend their for a get-together. Used OpenTable to request time but also seating in "The Library" which is usually quieter and more suited for talking and catching up with a friend. Brunch was tasty with quite a few choices. Main draw, however, is the pub-like ambiance. Would recommend for dining at any time.
Great beer, solid pub fare in a nice pub setting. Can be loud. Outdoor seating is a plus.
Burgers, chicken Caesar salad and salmon all very good
I like how they divided the place into two- front part for students (big group of people, pretty loud), and the back part with couch etc. (cozy and quiet). The food was good as well!
I chose de Vere’s that weekend I visited my daughter so she and I can have a nice talk without anyone eavesdropping on our conversation. De Vere’s was perfect. We didn’t have to whisper nor did we have to shout. Food did not disappoint. We had fish and chips, mac and cheese, and shepherd’s pie. The mac and cheese just had a little too much peas for my liking, but peas are easy enough to push to the side and don’t really add or take away any taste from the dish, so all’s well.
Great restaurant for a college town. Good selection of local beer. Nice pub fare food.
Service a little slow. Repeated special orders, but still got orders wrong. Kid's meal portions extremely small for growing children. Very poor lighting in patio area.
The fish and chips was as advertised: SPECTACULAR!! The service was awesome and the liquor selection is FAB!!
The fish & chips were very greasy and the shepherd's pie lacked seasoning. Overall a very unsatisfactory dining experience.
fabulous bar, fabulous bartender, love this place!
Very nice 0lace, great service. But only 2 Irish beers available and they ran out of one of them...
Stopped at this place while on a bike ride. Wanted to sit outside for lunch and found this place to be perfect. They had a great veggie burger and fries. The service was awesome. I will make it a point to go here again, maybe for Whiskey Wednesday.
The wait staff was good. By that I mean friendly and gracious. Our waitress took down our order correctly. She read it back. I have dietary restrictions re salt and garlic so I always order my food without seasoning. Seems easier on the waitperson and chef. Nope. My food was smothered in pepper and salt both. Since I was a guest I didn't want to say anything. Next time I'm in the area I will likely try this restaurant again. The menu is varied and I liked the staff. But I was disappointed with this visit.
The folks at deVeres are great! They add so much to the experience of the wonderful craft libations and exceptional culinary offerings. Love the updated Irish fare!
Slow service. Food was good
Decent fusion between Irish with a hint of American and some ok beer choices but not great considering it is supposed to hail from that part of the World
Friendly staff, not too busy early in the week, lively on the weekends later into the night.
The odd song has been known to break out by those well lubricated clientele
All in all well worth a visit but not super authentic
Good food and service but hard to have a conversation due to high noise levels pretty much everywhere in restaurant
We scheduled deVeres as a good centralized meeting place. We are 5 retired friends that worked together in Sunnyvale CA. We now come from Lake Tahoe, Nevada City, Santa Rosa, Los Gatos and Morgan Hill. This was an excellent choice, the food and service was great and the ambiance lent itself to quiet conversation. My Irish Stew was excellent and friends enjoyed the fish and chips. We all agreed to meet here again.
Good pub food. Outstanding selection of drinks and beers.
My banana bread french toast was delicious! The homemade potato chips were scrumptious! We sat at a cozy couch- which was fun!
We celebrated Father's Day here and we are so glad we did! It's very much like an authentic pub-from books and games on the shelves, to dark wood paneling and stained glass, to the Guinness and other food and drinks. Our family of 5 ordered enjoyed all of the following: nachos (careful, they're spicy!), the kids' this and that plate, the bacon cheeseburger, the kids' mac and cheese, the chicken sliders (amazing!), and the shepherds pie. Everything was delicious!
Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Best fish n chips I have ever had, in the US or the UK! We will be going back for the stew once the weather cools off a bit. Can't say enough about this place except, you gotta go!
