A lifelong dream of owners Mark Craig, Kevin Cox and Rick Crowe, DC Prime delivers an inspired menu, a rich atmosphere and superior service. Our name was chosen to honor the rich heritage of our nation's capitol, and America’s unique privileges of freedom and choice.

Tender, excellent taste profile
We order steak fillets with side of mushrooms and potatoes au gratin along with a salad and oysters Rockefeller. All were excellent with ample portions on the sides and starters. Service was excellent, servers were attentive but allowed us to enjoy the meal at our own pace. Nice atmosphere overall, relaxed and comfortable. Surprised that there were no table cloths. I am used to white table cloths for upscale dining, especially top end steak houses.
This was a very special occasion to celebrate my BFF's 50th Birthday and everything was top notch. Our server, James, was outstanding and very kind and also very attentive. The food is exquisite and it all came out perfectly. My BFF got the lobster bisque and a bone-in ribeye and I got a wedge salad and the 75 hour braised short ribs with green beans. We also added a side of asparagus. Once done, my BFF received his birthday dessert and we both received a glass of Dom Perignon on the house to toast. Excellent experience from start to finish!
The food and service was excellent. It’s a little noisy given the way the restaurant is laid out but all and it was a pleasant experience. It’s definitely over priced so not a place I would go to on a regular basis but great for a special occasion. We were there on our 42nd anniversary.
Awesome service and great food
I'm biased because I have never eaten at this restaurant, but i have eaten dozens of times at Clyde's in Ashburn and their steaks are actually better in my personal opinion. The prices are also better. 4 people at Clyde's having 2 drinks each with appetizers and main courses will run you about $200 with tip. But our bill at DC Prime for 3 people, one not drinking, was $350 and we did not think it was anything spectacular to have us go back a 2nd time at that price! Service was excellent, but again the quality of food is really what serves up repeat customers.
Excellent service by Isabela, really good! Food was good but I think it could be better. I wish that as an upscale restaurant all tables could have table cloth.
Overall the experience was good
Came here to celebrate our anniversary and the food and service was amazing! We got the oysters and beef capriccio for appetizers - highly recommend. We opted for ribeye steak and a side of Mac and cheese (one of the best Mac and cheese I’ve had). The side of lobster tail was on the dry side, but other than that everything was amazing. Haven’t had customer service like this in a long time! The service was impeccable. We are huge Morton’s fans - but we have definitely become DC Prime fans after our experience :) can’t wait to go back !!!
Great food. Great staff. So much food but we managed. The desserts were awesome as well.
Everything was phenomenal!
Food was delicious (as usual). Service was great.
Orlando, our waiter, was fabulous!!!!! The food was really good….all steaks cooked perfect, but only warm. Sides were hot and yummy!!
Our waiter André was amazing, very knowledgeable. His recommendations were all great!
We will definitely be back
I wanted to love everything about this experience because I have heard great things. But the lack of customer service is what stops me from giving this place a full 5 stars.
From being seated to paying/leaving it took 2hrs 15mins. A good chunk of time was just getting our drinks ordered as well as our food ordered.
Our waiter was not very personable though we did notice that he spent a lot of time on the table next to us explaining dishes but when asked about things on the menu he simply pointed to our menu saying that's what is in it. So he can be personable he just wasn't with us.
Food was perfect. Everything we ordered was perfect and tasted great.
I was hoping this place would be a place where we could continue to come and have a great experiences. But we will not be back since I'm sure there are other places who offer great customer service as well as excellent food.
Outstanding food - Wife is still talking bout Sea Bass - great service - last night before changes due to virus
The waitserver upon greeting us sneezed into his hand , GREAT. THE sides were sub par . We will not be back !
This is such a great restaurant especially for a special occasion. Such a fresh ingredients and high-quality needs. Great customer service. Highly recommend
Best steak I’ve ever had. I highly recommend DC Prime for any and all steak lovers.
Excellent meal. The steaks just keep us coming back. Pittsburgh crust, rare interior. Not many restaurants can match it. A jewel for Northern Virginia.
It was good but way over priced
Delicious food. The wagyu steak was excellent. Service was very good. Will be back to dine here again soon.
We had oysters on the half shell, pork belly, and calamari as appetizers, they were all outstanding! Tomahawk Ribeye for the main was amazing! Sides were good but nothing memorable. Drinks were well poured and enjoyable. Service was excellent and personable. We will definitely return.
The waitress Shakira was incredible and super personable!
We had no idea this place existed but ate so happy we discovered DC Prime Steakhouse. The steaks were delicious and cooked perfectly. The sides were big enough for 6 people to share and the deserts were delicious and very large. We will definitely be going back here.
VERY good experience! Food taste excellent and would definitely rank among the best steak house I have been to! Service is the cherry on top to very thing else!
It was son’s birthday.
Saturday night I took my husband out for date night to a great restaurant in Ashburn, VA, name DC Prime Steakhouse. We had the best time at dinner. The food was "A+. Everything from service to the eating was outstanding to me and my husband. The Redskins sent me an email about the restaurant. That is the best touchdown that Redskins scored for me. I will go back to the restaurant again. Their felt bad that we take our silver and put it into hot water. I always do that in any restaurant I go too. Nothing personal to the restaurant.
Great waitress. Food quality was solid. Good vibe.
Another great meal at DC Prime. The food and service were both terrific. We had shrimp cocktail, casaer salad, steak, asparagus and chocolate cake. John was our server. He is warm, personable and very professional. We can't wait to return to DC Prime.
Delicious! The mains are always perfection. Feel like the sides are just meh and don't live up to the main course. But the cheescake made up for any lackluster potato side! Yum!
I've eaten here many times and it's always a great experience. Great food, big portions, and great ambience.
The service is top notch. We felt like VIPs the entire time and they made my little birthday boy feel like a king. Everything was presented beautifully and the steaks were perfect. The server gave us a great explanation of the cooking process and he was clearly the best at what he does. When my husband asked for a Pinot, the server knew exactly what brand to bring (it was absolutely delicious). The ambiance is nice and sceney but not over the top. Seems like it should be located in an urban spot, rather than off a suburban highway. It’s what you’d expect from any steak house, as far as the menu and decor, but the food was absolutely on the mark and the server made the experience extra special! I will definitely go back.
It truly is an experience! The steak was very good. The sides were to die for. Even the bread was amazing. I ordered a dc prime classic martini, which was incredible. Great experience, have already recommended.
The food was exceptionally good and the price was appropriate for what we expected. The service was somewhat slow, but I suspect the reasoning was that we were there the Sunday after Valentine's Day, celebrating a late holiday (as were many others). We will be back again.
Definitely a special occasion place (my birthday), but worth it. I now understand what they mean when they call a steak "buttery". Food was spectacular, service was good, and ambiance was "steakhouse chic"
Comfortable atmosphere with great service. The food was prepared exactly how it was requested. We plan to return in the future.
Our experience was great from the moment we walked in . We were greeted quickly and sat immediately with our reservation. Our server was very attentive and assured we always had what we needed, and the steaks were cooked perfectly. I would recommend this for others looking for a little higher end dinner. Bonus it is a mile from home.
We waited an hour and a half from ordering for a mediocre steak and a cold baked potato. The mac and cheese was good, and my husband loved the crab cake he added on. Overall it wasn’t worth the money. Had such high hopes and maybe it was an off night.
We have eaten here before and had had a great experience. My husband called it his new favorite place. As his birthday is near Valentines Day, I booked well in advance and was excited to take him back. As Valentine’s Day was a Friday, that was the night we went. We were expecting a crowd, as the last time it had been very crowded, but it wasn’t too bad. I must say though we left very disappointed. This was the first time the food was not up to expectations. My husband is a steak guy, loves to grill, and likes his steak medium rare. His steak was rare. Now we are not the type of people who say medium rare and then complain when the meat is pink. But this was very rare and had to be returned. The oysters Rockefeller had been fantastic last time and were barely edible.
