DC Prime Steakhouse
Our mission: to provide dining and culinary excellence to every guest we serve.
We serve only USDA Prime Beef, which is the top 1% of all beef in the United States, chosen to meet or exceed our owners' rigid standards that include tenderness and taste. All of our beef is supplied by Consumers Meat Packing of Chicago, IL...purveyors to many of the finest steakhouses in the United States. The same superior standards apply to our fresh seafood, sourced direct from North Coast Seafood of Boston, MA., our whole lobsters, from the cold waters of Maine and our Mero Sea Bass Steaks, overnighted from Honolulu Fish Company, Honolulu, HI.
A very pleasant place for a birthday (85th) celebration. Steaks excellent, side orders delicious. Server (Hannah) just outstanding.
Food was excellent and we had very good service.
Aside from the obvious, the best steak in Dc period. The service somehow, even more impressive and I cannot stress enough how nice it was to be over satisfied with a phenomenal dinner experience
We celebrated Father's Day at DC Prime. The restaurant was very busy and little louder than last time we were there. That said, it was a GREAT night. The service and food - terrific. Our waiter John was excellent at being attentive to us while juggling other tables. Thanks for a memorable evening. We'll be back!
DC Prime is an outstanding steakhouse. The owner/manager Rick, is to be commended. Not only is the food great but the service is impeccable. Our waiter, John, was terrific. He was warm and friendly and highly professional. We split a shrimp cocktail, salad, and enjoyed N.Y. strip and filet mignon, capping it off with a wonderful dessert. We highly recommend DC Prime.
Excellent food and Carlos is the best.
Great food as always and great service from Morgan
The food and service is simply outstanding! Perfectly cooked steak and the chocolate cake. Oh my goodness! Chocolate heaven. The sides are just out of this world. The attention and perfection used to prepare our meal. Just perfect.
I have been to DC Prime before and apparently I just hit the off-nights (or just the night with the same very loud guy who seems...over-served) And yes, it was the same guy! He was standing up at a table in the middle of the restaurant, teetering and laugh-cursing. His table mates were telling him.to sit down, but he didnt listen. One of the women with them also seemed a bit "jovial" and loudly enjoyed his antics. The staff did nothing to quiet him. I guess he is there often as the last (and first time) we were at DC Prime this exact same guy was acting "over-served." Other patrons were looking and not eating.
As for our own table, the server forgot to put in my scallops. She was very quick to fix it though. Steaks...awesome as always.
Overall, ok. Food is good, but the atmosphere (read: obnoxious patron) was anything but on-point for our Anniversary.
1. Service was slow
-Waiter visited table twice initially to tell us he'd be back with us in a couple of minutes but didn't ask if we'd like to order a drink while we were waiting.
-It took over 15 minutes to get a drink
-It took over 30 minutes to get some bread
-It took about 45 minutes to get our appetizer
-It took about 1 hour and 15 minutes to get our main
-In all it took us just under 2 hours to get through our meal and not because we were taking our time, enjoying ourselves, not ready to order, or having drinks after our meal.
-One of our cocktails was also not properly made but we didn't send it back because of the slowness of the service
2. Out of several items on menu... just about everything we tried to order was out and we had to go with a second choice and it was still early in the evening (7:30pm on Saturday )
-The main special was out
-The 8 oz filet mignon was out
-The bottle of wine we ordered was out (we were given a slightly more expensive bottle for the same price)
3. Usually the crab cakes come out on a bed of greens or with some sort of garnish but it was just a pile of crab cake that looked like it had been scooped onto a bare plate with some sauce... there was no presentation at all... they were still very good but so are the accompanying garnish/greens usually.
3. Trash from the bar was taken out through the main dining area by our table... I'm not sure but isn't that against code? Regardless, we've never eaten in a nice restaurant where trash was taken out by our table.
4. I also sent an email directly to DC prime the next day highlighting the above issues and never received a response, which tells me they don’t care about customers.
DC Prime is a great venue for a special occasion. It's beautiful inside and the service is top notch. We took our kids for the oldest's high school graduation dinner. All of the kids enjoyed their meals, but my husband and I were not as pleased. I ordered the ahi. It was a beautiful piece of fish, but it was made almost inedible by the ultra salty sauce it was soaking in! It could have been a beautiful meal had it been in a light broth instead of the way too salty soy sauce. I took half of it home and asked them not to put the sauce in the to go box. My husband had the filet mignon and said his wasn't seasoned enough. I would still recommend DC Prime, but would recommend against getting the ahi.
This is a great steakhouse. I’ve taken my family multiple times and have never been disappointed.
Me and my fiancé took his mom out for a birthday dinner. Upon arrival the table was reserved and had a Birthday card set up for his mom. Service was fast and superb. Hannah our waitress did an amazing job explaining everything on the menu and all the specials and gave excellent recommendations based on our likes. We had the sea bass, king crab legs, filet trio, truffle fries and the lobster bites. Everything was delicious and brought out in short time. At the end they brought out a special birthday brownie and candle. Would definitely recommend and will return when in the area. Thanks again
Undecidedly the best high-end chop house in the region. Wonderful cuts of meat and amazing service.
Heath is an awesome waiter.
DC Prime is a wonderful first class statehouse. We had a wonderful birthday celebrating. Our waiter and the full staff are excellent. The steak where perfectly prepared. We will be back.
This was our second time visiting DC Prime Steakhouse and once again it did not disappoint. The food was fabulous, the wine and cocktail list was long and the service was superb. I highly recommend this for a dinner you won't soon forget.
Office party had noise levels up at the tables and bar. Aside from that, food and service were great.
Always a great place. Unfortunately the best wines on their wine list was not available this night. The manager did compensate with a complimentary bottle after tree we asked for were not available.
Excellent meal for a special occasion! Food and drinks were fabulous and we had a great birthday celebration.
The steak is always outstanding . Worth the high cost if improved ambiance. Table placement ridiculous when it necessitates large waiter’s rear body infringing on ones own table while serving the adjacent table.
I really wanted to like DC Prime. But, my bone-in rib eye was sub par. I like a good char and crust on my steaks with a warm red center. This came out a light tan color like it needed a few more minutes in the oven. It also didn't appear to have any seasoning. Steaks like like this just need some salt. This didn't have any salt or so little it didn't provide any extra flavor.
On the positive end, the side dishes were excellent and the service was very good. The classic martini was very good as well.
But in the end, the poor execution of the steak ruined the experience for me.
The quality of the beef at DCP is excellent. Also, Andrei is the best person to handle your ordering and service needs. He’s has an excellent command of the menu and the nuances of each dish. Always an excellent experience.
Service and food was as great as I was hoping!
Good food and the service was great. Yoko was our server and he was friendly and knowledgeable. Everyone works as a team to ensure a great experience for guests. Steaks were amazing and cooked to perfection.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Mother’s Day brunch. Every item we ordered was perfect and our waiter was prompt and attentive. Thanks for making it a memorable experience for my family
Perfect fine dining for date night! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent service. Food was fantastic. Will definitely be back
Took my son there for his 13th birthday. Didn’t expect the server to give him a birthday card and take care of his dessert. That was a nice surprise. Everyone checked on us throughout the meal and the pace of the overall experience was great.
Our first time at the restaurant, and the occasion was our anniversary. I can’t think of a better way of spending the evening. We will definitely frequent this establishment more...had an unbelievable time!!!
As usual everything was great at DC Prime. My only complaint was that I was charged $6 for steak sauce which should have been free.
We go to DC Prime for business at least once every week. We have always had a great experience, between Rick greeting everyone at the door, to the knowledgeable bar staff and the professional wait staff, we always have a reason to go back.
Great meal. One table of loud people was a drag.
Service was incredible. Great steak/scallops. Definitely pricey but worth it.
DC Prime is the premiere steakhouse in the Loudoun area! Always enjoy the wonderful service and great food. We had a wonderful Easter Brunch and my kids love dining here as a special treat!
Outstanding meal amd service. Highly recommend. Only one small issue was that a smoking area behind the bar was a bit open and the smoke was slightly evident in the inside bar and restaurant. Wasn't terrible but hadn't noticed it on previous visits.
Amazing evening. Waiter was pleasurable. Food was delicious. Expensive but worth it
Waiter recommended that "medium" was more akin to "medium rare" and "medium well" was more akin to "medium" for their steaks. However, we ordered one rib eye medium well, and it was medium well. We ordered a filet "medium" and it was medium. Steaks tasted great, but we ordered the filet with the truffle butter thinking it would be melted over the steak (or at least partially). The butter was a solid cold block of butter on the steak that never did really soften or melt--unremarkable at $8 for the patty of butter. Taste of steaks was outstanding. Spinach was great. Nothing special about the baked potato. Service great. Expensive though---$265 for two people --only alcohol was a single glass of house wine.
An enjoyable meal. As a higher-end steak restaurant, it’s on par with its competitors. The prices are a bit high for the quality of the food. Service was attentive and well timed although the order was not deliver correctly (forgot this, undercooked that). The restaurant was not crowded and quiet on Friday night but there is ample seating for lots of people. I could imagine the place could be loud if even half full. There’s a bar which has several TVs. It was about half full. Parking is good and free.
This was our first visit and we were excited to try a new “date place” for our wedding anniversary. We arrived to a great hostess greeting but ultimately left pretty disappointed. The highlight of our evening was a hard working waiter Stu. He was knowledgeable and a solid pro. Unfortunately he was let down by perhaps the slowest upscale kitchen in northern VA. Our apps took nearly 25 minutes to arrive and it only got worse from there.
My wife had the pumpkin swordfish from the specials, and I likewise had the bone in filet, also a special. These dishes took every bit of 60 mins to arrive from time of order, (and 90 mins after arrival) and the beef arrived somewhat cool.
Stu the waiter apologized multiple times throughout the evening for slow food arrival, but clearly this was beyond his control. Worth mentioning there were plenty of open tables and for a weeknight the place seemed slow.
In terms of taste, the swordfish was tender with good flavor. Unfortunately my wife had pretty much lost her appetite and we took majority home. The filet was very average, and candidly at $79 one of the most over-priced cuts I have ever had. That is was late and barely warm really made it a major disappointment. Sides were solid, brussel sprouts and loaded potato, but for a $275 meal they should be.
Would have been nice to be offered a free drink for the extended wait, or even a visit from manager but it was us and Stu. While I would like to say we will try again, Coopers Hawk is half the price, and Morton’s and Mon Ami never seem to disappoint. Sorry DC Prime, had hoped you would be better.
