Open 7 days a week, dbar is a full service restaurant that seamlessly transforms into a nightclub and lounge as the night goes on. Formally an old school Irish pub filled with mahogany charm, dbar has been renovated into a hip chic hot spot. With warm glowing candles & long leather banquettes, dbar offers a casual and comfortable atmosphere that attracts clientele from Dorchester and surrounding areas. The unique and classy menu inspired by Executive Chef Christopher Coombs changes with the seasons and features the finest and freshest available ingredients throughout the New England area. Most of the menu takes a French twist, but also contains an assortment of comfort foods (such as our famous Veal & Pancetta Bolognaise) and old favorites (like our simple yet delicious Giannone Chicken Under a Brick.)

dbar Ratings and Reviews
Dbar used to be one of my favorite places and u haven't been in about two years so I was excited to book a reservation here. The food was not as good as it used to be it was pretty disappointing. Our waiter Julian was great when he noticed our food delivered to another table he didn't let on that he was displeased (I could see it on his face ad he walked to the person that made the mistake then to the kitchen to correct it). The Sangria was just as amazing as its always been and the atmosphere just as amazing. The food was the only bad experience we had.
Not sure what is going with the service there these days. Took the waiter 10 minutes to take our drink order, then forgot to bring bread to the table. We had to flag down anther waiter who also seemed exasperated with our waiter,
I've been here many, many times and have never been disappointed. The food is very good, with some items being much better than others. On this particular visit I had a pasta and sausage dish which wasn't really memorable, but I also had a mussel appetizer that was excellent. There was a recommendation for a locally produced Malbec which was amazing. The service is always good here, and that alone makes it worth the visit. I will be back again and again.
Superb customer service. The perfect menu size with creative delightful spirits and mixings to accompany Chef's exquisite creations. Welcoming ambiance with the right attitude and decor. I've been at DBAR in each season and one addition summer season that I enjoy very much with friends and new friends is during he summer time in their open Patio for dining al Fresco. Any season DBAR offers what we seek when going on a date for quiet nice dinner or for a drink (or two) anytime year-round. The best team staff and rocking sickening good music to dance the night away. I absolutely love it and I feel lucky that in our Dorchester we have a classy well run restaurant/bar/brunch weekend option/dance club all wrapped around in excellence in service and high quality cuisine. i like it here a lot. on this particular visit, the server was too fast, looking for a drink order two seconds after we were seated, and asking how the food was before we had a bite. the heat was too high, and we were roasting. the food was very good but the servings have shrunk....the wine/cava was reduced in quantity, and the chicken under a brick shrunk. still would recommend. next time better improve.....
The food at DBar is always really wonderful, paired with fun cocktails and a very good wine selection. This evening was no exception: Yum!
The service is usually excellent, but it must have been a bad night or a new server or both. She was remarkably unattentive. She was the only server on, but it was a Monday night and the place was almost empty.
What a great restaurant! Great crowd too! Food was delicious and well presented, service was top notch. Rob our server was greasous, attentive and friendly. A little out of the way from Boston proper but worth the trip. After dinner service the place is transfomed into a club! Great fun!!
