We love DBar. It’s been our go-to spot since we moved to Dorchester. The staff are incredibly professional, warm, and accommodating. The food is always excellent and they have a great selection of wine and craft cocktails. We feel lucky to live close by so we can visit often.
I have brought guests from abroad and local friends here this time. Food and Cocktails have been great as always and staff was open-hearted, warm and always available.
Everything was outstanding and especially the service!
Super fan of chef chris coombs 😍
Jonny , our server more than once is wonderful, helped me to order an old cocktail that used to be on your menu, without any fuss . As always , the meals were great, ordered the Beef Bourguignon. We always enjoy DBar
Great food, great vibe, a bit $$ for a once a week eat out. But awesome for a special treat!
We go here quite often with our kids. We love it. Servers are all fabulous
We arrived at 11:25 for an 11:30 reservation. The place was not busy so we were happy we could eat and get on our way Our waiter was friendly but it took a while before he brought our coffees and he had to go back because he only brought 1 cup. We ordered and it took 45mins. b4 we got our food and it was luke warm...this place use to be a great place for dinner and Sunday brunch. Hey dbar...try re-vamping your menu and get a manager who knows how to run the place efficiently.
Food was horrible. Restaurant is in a very dangerous area.
We love DBar! The quality of service and food are unparalleled for a neighborhood eatery. We feel so lucky to live nearby.
Food & drinks were good. The service wasn’t so good. Took over an hour to get our food. A bit disappointing.
Was a great brunch - lots of options on the menu and the food was all great.
Booked dBar for Sunday brunch and did not know what to expect but reviews were excellent. I was happy to learn that the reviews were all true. Food was great as well as service and ambiance. Parking was a plus as well. I do not live in the area but glad to have found this gem for the future.
Dbar never fails as a great neighborhood bar, restaurant and people scene. I love their theme nights as well as their brunch, dinners and weekend DJ parties. The staff is accommodating, friendly and well trained. Love them great work crew!
This was our sixth visit to dbar and prior to this we always found the service/food/ambiance excellent. However, this time, despite arriving at 5:45, the noise level was pretty high and subsequently our server did not get our order correct, nor did he verify it after we gave it. We didn't get all that we ordered and he presented the bill and we mentioned we were expecting one more dish. He said he would have it made up but we decided it was not worth our remaining. He did not offer any dessert menu and it seemed like they were anxious to clear the table (it was now 6:30). We were disappointed and will probably take a break from dbar for a while. Hope that this was just a one off night for them and for us.
We are regulars at Chris Coomb's restaurants, and dbar being the closest to our house is no exception, often visiting multiple times a year. Always amazing food, however this time we decided to bring our twin 5 year old girls. They are incredibly well behaved and little foodies themselves (they split the salmon). Unfortunately, I've never felt discriminated against until we showed up with children. Our reservation was on the early side (530), and was to celebrate my late fathers birthday as a family. From the moment we walked in, we were treated as if we should not be there - instead of a booth that could accommodate us, we were shoved into a corner table that was away from everyone else and overheard the host, when asked why we were being seated there, said "oh just trust me." This continued throughout the evening, as we were constantly rushed to finish. We weren't read the specials, ordered some drinks, and then were asked two minutes later if we were ready to order. the food came out ten minutes later, and then we were checked on again 5 minutes after that. The dinner took a total of 36 minutes and we were glad to leave. Unfortunately a great spot, and one of our favs, ruined because my children like good food and actually come out to eat with us, and were treated as if we didnt belong...funny for a place that is otherwise so accepting. We will not be returning.
Service was excellent - all the staff was friendly and upbeat. Music was great, a little on the louder side as we were a table of 6 and so harder for the people on the ends to hear, but it was an excellent playlist they had going. Food was good, drinks were great. Parking a little hard but not bad considering it's Boston.
Jeff our waiter was Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
Hi - My only suggestion is if you’re hosting an event - you let your diners know! This was a soccer mom’s bday celebration - Sitting across from me I could not hear her at all - It was sooooooo noisy in there - Heard it was the LGBT lawyers association - Painful. I buy $1K worth of gift cards on Cyber Monday and use them throughout the year. Our waiter Jamorey waa excellent but I cannot say that about the experience and had to aplogize to my friend : (. Thank you for asking!
My favorite restaurant and this time they had some new dishes on the menu. Yummy!
The staff was friendly and the service was super quick. Seems like quite a chill place to have dinner or a drink.
I've been there multiple times and have never been let down.
Reservations at 6:30pn was perfect all tables were full at 7pm. Great food, drinks and service. Will put this at the top of my go to list!
Great food and Cody was a fabulous server! It does get loud around 9:00, as it becomes more of a nightclub on weekends. That being said, the bar service is awful. Unless you are a gorgeous young man or a loud, young woman, you will be ignored.
My favorite restaurant ..... great food, great service, reasonable prices!
We had a lot to discuss as we had just lost a close friend. Some of us came from across the country and when picking where to dine we picked our friends favorite restaurant. Turns out, she was right. We had a good conversation and smiled, laughed and toasted our friend
Recently dined at Dbar to celebrate a friend's new job and we had a wonderful time. Our server Dominic was so nice, pleasant - very knowledgeable - recommended their house infused peach vodka, used in a new seasonal cocktail - DELICIOUS! My friend & I both got the chicken under a brick - she is gluten intolerant. I know it's just chicken to some ppl BUT this meal reminded me of a comfort type dinner my mother would have made. Mashed potatoes were yummy (AND WE are both mashed potato SNOBS)... nicely grilled asparagus topped off by a crispy skinned somewhat flattened 1\2 chicken... so moist, so flavorful - I could have eaten 2!!!!! we both literally cleaned our plates!!! This is one of their signature dishes ( THANK YOU Dominic for telling us) and with good reason.... it was really yummy and simple - BUT SO SO SO GOOD! Fresh bread with dipping oils to start and a full water glass.. I like my water....Dominic was very attentive and very nice... even tho we didn't get dessert - HAH we had a great time! If you are in and around Dorchester - please stop in to experience Dbar - you wont be disappointed. If you are not in the area, get in your car or Uber and get to Dbar.... whole menu seems great BUT I really recommend the Chicken under a brick and a cocktail and the bread and Dominic. CBM - Dorchester!!!!!
While not a regular, this was not my first visit. The reason I keep coming back is the quality of the food, the creativity of the chef(s) and freshness of the ingredients. And the cocktails--don't forget those. And I would be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to the staff. I have never had bad or even indifferent service here. The service here is top notch from the greeting at the door to the friendly and helpful waitstaff. We dined early on a Friday night and ordered a few small plates to share--the carnita tacos, a favorite standby, the beet salad--so good, the crab rangoon--light and heavenly and the "family jewels' --meatballs of course. All were perfect as were the accompanying martinis shaken to perfection. There is a small parking lot which, if you get there early enough to get a space, is handy. The atmosphere is laid back, buzzing but not super loud (until later when the bar scene gets going). Can't wait for my next visit.
Very entertaining, good food! Loved the musical night on Tuesday.
Great food, tasty coktails and a blast at ShowTunes Tuesday
Every time we go, the service just gets worse. It took for ever just to get the appetizer then even longer to get the meal. When we asked for a second beer each, (2 people) that even took forever! And here is the best part to all this! It wasn't even busy!!! What the heck is wrong with you people?
Calvin was our waiter and was exceptional.
Food and drinks arrived fast and he checked on us to see if we needed anything else.
Made for a very nice night!
Our Service was awesome. We had a group of 10 for a birthday celebration and were very well taken care of! Food and cocktails were perfection. Totally recommend!
Dinner and Party - the perfect Saturday night out... we had dinner prior GLOW! party and the seamless conversion of this space is really amazing
I've been a loyal customer of dbar for several years it gets better every year food is great to wait staff is incredible always on top of everything after 10 it becomes a nightclub great music great lighting always have a theme party every Saturday
I ordered the pork chop which was very good, however it came with a pineapple fried rice and I thought the rice was dry. My husband had the sirloin steak which was very good. Beware of the restrooms .. they are marked whichever. Which is fine with me, but not when you walk in and there are two urinals then a stall. As I was in the stall, I was worried that a man would walk in and start using the urinal. Not a comfortable feeling :(
Great food service and atmosphere. Always great!
Getting there, getting great food and drinks, a safe deal with outstanding options.
I have brought friends from abroad and they loved the atmosphere, food, drinks and the friendly staff.
Again - a great dining experience.
I have brought a friend from abroad and we have not been disappointed: tasty food, great cocktails and very attentive service.
We have been to dbar many many times. They have a new maitre'd and my husband found a small empty Sambuca bottle on the floor of our car and as there was no trash can outside of the entrance and one is not permitted to bring outside alcohol containers into dbar he left it outside in a planter. After being seated the maitre'd felt it good customer service to fetch the bottle and bring it to our table glaring at my husband and asking "are you alright" in a very condescending tone and proceeded to stare at him for the duration of our meal. Then upon our completion felt the need to return to our table to ask again if he was "quite alright" The guy needs a few lessons in good customer service...would it have been so difficult to just throw the bottle away, no this guy had to make it an issue. With many new places opening in Dorchester, perhaps the owners of dbar need to review their staff choices.
