Reservations, but was sat in separate party room setup for large groups. We were a party of 3 at a round top for 8. 1 waiter for the entire room. We will not be going back.
The food was good. The staff was lackluster at best. I worked in the industry for years and they definitely need to start back with the basics in service.
Our service was great; those in our party ordered: crab cakes, bang bang shrimp, steak, cranberry/chicken salad, breaded tenderloin and pasta. Everything was excellent except crab cakes...we all agreed they were too moist/almost runny in an unnatural way...crab cakes should be a bit drier and meaty. Definitely nothing worth not returning; we’ll be back soon!!
Had not been here in awhile because it used to be so noisy inside. Pleased to see they have added noise reducing panels. Can actually have a real conversation!! We had a party of 8 and our server (Donna) was on it. She was a hoot and a good sport. Our group was a little rowdy. Great craft beer selection. Food was prepared as ordered and everyone enjoyed their meals. Will be back soon and often!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our New Years Eve dinner. The food was excellent and the service superb. Can't wait to go again!
We went for a family dinner the Saturday before Christmas. We hadn't been here for a few years. The service was good especially considering there were several other large parties under the same waiter. Our waiter was attentive and the food came out fairly quickly. The food was ok. Some was really good and some not. My steak was very salty - I didn't have any sauce on it so not sure what contributed to that. The other steaks and the salmon were good. The pretzel bread sticks we got for an appetizer were also quite tasty. The Ceasar salad had bacon and tomatoes on it which was a surprise - maybe said it in the description but we missed that. Overall it was a nice night and everything was fine but nothing overly special about the food or experience.
We were in Brownsburg for our grandson's football game, so we stopped in because the location was close to the football field. The food and service were wonderful. Would definitely recommend it
Nice place to grab a bite & a drink. Could use more vegetarian options.
Great place to go for a night out. Service was great , food was great, prices were reasonable.
Good food, good, friendly service. Nice to be able to make a reservation.
Our Waiter Steve, was efficient, but lacked a fun engagement we like to have with our wait staff. The food was better than average and the table we had was far from the noise in the bar from Trivia night. (Kudos to the Hostess!)
This was our second visit to Dawson's Too and my wife and I ordered the same as before -- the Seafood Trio. It is very good but I thought the tuna was a little under seasoned this time.
We were celebrating my wife's birthday with our daughter, son-in-law and two preschool grandchildren. All enjoyed their meals.
They comp'ed us a brownie with ice cream and whipped cream.
Food over cooked and too expensive. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
We are near by in the neighborhood. Nice place to go for nice relaxing meal. Food and service are great, price not too bad, recommend especially if you are in the area.
Very large menu serving very large portions. Stroganoff and patty melt were both very good but not great. Servers adequate but attention not at most appropriate times.
Overall the food was good; however, it appears to be understaffed. The bar was very slow and tried to pass a watery Jack and coke off as a crown and coke. Overall not bad...but we will not be back.
Although our waitress was very nice, she took too long to take our drink order. It appeared that there not enough servers. I sent my tuna sandwich back because it wasn't cooked as I ordered. When it was brought back, there was no lettuce, tomato or ciabatta bun as described on the menu. My husband was disappointed in his tuna dinner because it lacked flavor.
Good friendly service.
Second visit. Really good food with some interesting things on the menu. Service was great even though it was very busy. We will go again.
I have dined here several times. The food has always been prepared well and it comes out at a good pace. Service can be spotty and the ambience and decor could use some freshening up. Overall I've always had mostly pleasant experiences.
Avoid nights they host "trivia" as it can be quite noisy. Tuesday?)
Calamari steak appetizer are a must!
Making the reservation was easy and we were seated quickly. The waitress was very helpful and attentive. Food was excellent!
We went there for the prime rib. It wasn't bad, but Dawson's on Main was better
Dawson's is one of the two higher end restaurants in Brownsburg and they have excellent pizzas. Our experience this time was in the middle of our past experiences. Steve is a hard working guy but he had more than he could do that night and made a few mistakes. First, when he took our drink orders we also asked for an appetizer. He brought the drinks back, took our main order, and then scurried away. We didn't see him again for 15 minutes at which time our main meals arrived. Ok, so he forgot to put in our appetizer and it wasn't on the bill. It wasn't what we wanted but no harm done. He made brief appearances to check on us after that and then brought boxes and the check. We had to ask three times to get the cookie for our daughter that comes with the meal (once when he asked if we were ready for the check, once when he brought the check, and once when we were ready to walk out the door). It's a good place but they need to hire more wait staff to keep guys like Steve from getting overworked (because then they make mistakes).
Our Valentine’s Date Reservations started off well, parking lot was full but the hostess was polite and sat us right away. Within a few minutes however the announcer for "Trivia Night" queue his mike and was able to be heard throughout the whole restaurant. This continued throughout the entire dinner and was very disruptive. Looking around the room I can say that 8 other gentlemen shared my opinion. Not what you want to hear while reading the special Valentine’s Day specials.
We order a bottle of wine which was brought to the table by our server with the Cork already opened. She then proceeded to sit the bottle on the table with two glasses and walked away; leaving us to pour the wine ourselves. Ordered salad and entrees, which were both well prepared, food had good flavor and came out in a timely manner. Ordered dessert, brownie sundae, which was brought to the table by another employee, not our server. 10 minutes later we were finally able to flag down the manager to ask for spoons to eat the brownie, as our dirty silverware was removed with our empty plates. By that time the ice cream had mostly melted.
We will likely stick to the Main Street Speedway Dawson's in the future when we decide to dine with this company again.
We went for first time for Valentines Day. Got right in with open table reservation. Good Beer selection and had a special since it was Tuesday. I went with the Fountain Square Preachers Daughter, it was so good I put away 3 pints. Wife had a glass of pino gritio and a shrimp pasta dish. She commented on the quality of the wine as compared to the small grocery store bottles she is accustomed to. Pasta dish was good but she was a bit overwhelmed with the sauce. I went with the basic tenderloin. It was good and less greasy than most as this is the nature of the sandwich. We started with the chicken nacho appetizer for $6 on early bird menu. Definitely different than your typical nachos, loaded with grilled onions and peppers similar to fajitas. Quality and quantity of chicken was excellent, could have used more tortilla chips. Portions were large and we took home a carryout which my son took for his lunch the next day. I will definitely return, likely on a Tuesday for the beer specials and early bird menu.
It's was 3 couple we all just wanted to go out for good food and conversation!! Our server was excellent everything everyone had was delicious!! We all really enjoyed our selves. We sat in the bar at a long high top table we all loved it!!
In the past we've had troubles with service but lately it has been much better. The food is generally very good but this it was only okay. I was also disappointed that they had no fruit as a side option. It's really easy to have grapes or applesauce but alas they only have fruit when it is in season. I did enjoy the fish special which was a nice change of pace from the pizza I usually get there. The rest of my party was not impressed. We'll be back for every day dining but not for a special occasion.
We went for two birthdays. Food was great got our seats right away. Excellent prime rib
Calamari steak appetizer is awesome
Ma Maw is a great Server!
New Years Eve date , food was good, service was prompt, a little noisy in the bar area we sat in, but they were busy.
We have eaten here several times and the food has never disappointed us. We typically like to sit in the bar area as there are several TV's to watch. So I requested that we be seated in the bar area. Which, as it turns out, was a big mistake. We were seated in one of the booths along the side of the bar that faces the parking lot. There was COLD air blowing out of the vents above our heads. My daughter, who typically is too warn, had to eat her dinner with her coat on. Very difficult to enjoy the food when it's that cold. I did say something to our waitress and she said we weren't the first to complain, that they had called the service people several times, and so far they have not been able to fix it. We will eat there again but will make sure we aren't seated in that area. The waitress told us the other side of the room was very comfortable and that is where I will request that we be seated next time.
Caesar salad had old brown lettuce. Chicken was very salty. Service was very good. Restaurant was packed. Good we had a reservation.
The management of this restaurant put the emphasis where it belongs -- on you plate.
The bar area was full of Indianapolis Colts fans, watching the team play in London. They were quite noisy. We were seated in the main dining room but the walls do not go to the ceiling so we heard a lot of noise. The hostess seated us in the best spot possible to avoid the noise.
(They also have large dining rooms for groups that are not subject to that noise.)
The location is not high end and they did not put much money into the decor. They did invest in good restrooms and our server told us the kitchen was immaculate. As a customer, those are wise choices.
We each had the seafood trio priced at $20 a plate, not bad if the seafood is good. The trio included a crab cake which I would rate as one of the better ones that I have had. Sea scallops were nicely prepared and not overcooked. Seldom do we ever get asked how we want our fish cooked and even more seldom are they asking for the doneness. We had our tuna medium rare, leaning toward the rare side. It was prepared exceptionally well.
The quality of the food and preparation could demand a much higher price than $20.
food was fabulous
I do love pasta dinner for 15.00 with salad and breaf
They put us in a party room beside the restaurant. Chairs uncomfortable, server rude, service slow and decor terrible. Good was good but not sure we will return. Loved our prior visits. This one was a turnoff.
I always enjoy their pizza. The service has been much better the last few times as well as I've seen more younger wait staff. I think they are faster and more attentive.
