The Davis Street Tavern in Portland serves up fine dining comfort foods and cocktails in an industrial space. Guests can stop in for lunch and dinner or come for happy hour specials on appetizers and drinks.
The Davis Street Tavern features a range of sophisticated menu options, including Goose Point oysters, a charcuterie board and marinated mixed olives to start things off. From there, dive into entrées like velvety mac ‘n' cheese, lamb ragu, pan seared halibut and much more. Make sure to check out the Davis Street Tavern specialties such as the lamb burger or the local Angus beef burger. Ask about the drink specials or add a cheeky monkey cocktail or sake to complete the meal.
The bar has better atmosphere than the restaurant which is kind of quiet with low energy.
Went early for Happy Hour. Great choices on both dinner and bar menu. Will be back!
Tried the crab bisque at the recommendation of a co-worker. It is Fabulous!
Food was really good. I Want to go back and try other things on the menu. Waiter was very nice but food service was a little slow. Loved the ambiance!
Met some friends for dinner and was the first to arrive. Staff seated me quickly, made sure to let me know how my friend in a wheelchair should get in and handed me a wine list. As my friends arrived they were quickly seated without needing to flag them over.
We had a large group and the staff handled us well. Food is great here. One of my fave under-the-radar spots downtown.
Great staff, atmosphere and menu. Thankfully there's no bacon on the menu, that's refreshing for a change. This was our second experience here.
Terrible server. When I asked about wine for the pork belly entree, he just said "white wine with white meat" .and when my husband asked about a wine for his crab risotto he said "any white will be good. " NOT the help you want from a supposedly higher end restaurant. He clearly knew nothing about wine.
Enjoyed a lovely evening at Davis Street. Beet salad was large and very good. The risotto was delicious. Very filling. Had read reviews about how loud the restaurant is and would have to concur, but it is a tavern with a bar and televisions close by, so I think that is to be expected in a way. The high ceilings probably add to the noise factor, but that interior provided a very cool vibe. We will return!
A lot of restaurants give you way to much to eat but that wasn't the case here. We shared a salad and entree. The entree was certainly not big enough to share maybe not enough for one. Very small portions here. The food was good but not worth the price.
The name does it a disservice. I needed a reservation for 10 on relatively short notice and went with DST because it had an available reservation at the right time. I was expecting a bar and pool tables but was greeted by a much more elegant environment.
Great experience as usual. Tasty appetizers and wonderful risotto. I always order oysters since they are so fresh and delicious. Also they change up their beverage menu from time to time which is exciting.
Fun evening for our daughter's 17th birthday dinner with friends. Great service and food that pleased both teens and parents. Not overly fancy but nice for a very special occasion.
I ordered an expensive bowl of soup and had to ask for salt/pepper and bread. My dining mate had a delicious looking lunch and was happy.
