Davio's - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
Simply an outstanding place for a great night out. Food, atmosphere and service top notch. Celebrated a wedding anniversary and from the minute we arrived we were treated to a special evening. One very minor complaint is the place can be noisy especially if you are seated close to the bar area. This said most restutants are noisy these days — even those rated five star. The food was amazing — portion size, presentation and taste all were perfect. I’ll certainly be dinning at Davio’s again next time I visit Philly!
There are a lot of good restaurants in Philly but Davio's has become a favorite. There are always unique items on the menu (I had green onion tagliatelle with goat cheese) and if you are between choices staff always suggest half portion each or as a starter. Our server was great. The Sommelier was very cool as well. It was a Friday night, early, and a lot of bar crowd but we had had a long day and wanted an early meal. Beautiful ambiance, tastefully decorated. Was actually somewhat sad Philly not dressed more as the city, even winter theme bt was nice and toasty in Davios. Look forward to coming back in the New Year.
My husband and I are visiting Philly and Davio's was highly recommended by the concerige. We also noted very positive comments from Open Table so we booked a reservation! From the moment we were greeted by the hostess til we left, the dining experience was exceptional! Omar our main waiter was so professional and knowledgeable of the food choices and wine list! We enjoyed our interaction throughout the evening! The roasted tomatoe soup was delicious. Our entrees were equally delicious and of course to top the evening....dessert! Gelato and a tasty cake clone!
It was our first trip to Philadelphia, (a stopover on the way home from a nephew's wedding). We wanted Italian and this place delivered. We picked it based on TripAdvisor's ratings. Not too old style, not too nouvelle but healthy portions, beautifully plated and superbly cooked. Definitely the best veal chop we've had since NYC. Our waiter (Jerome) had the chef make a special plate out of our panna cotta dessert by writing Happy Birthday in chocolate around the rim. It brought a smile to my husband's face! Thank you for making his 63rd birthday dinner really special. This will be one of our must go-to's next time we are in Philadelphia again.
The food was pretty good, but I don't like to be served my dinner 5 minutes after receiving my cocktail. For me the 2 should be separate. Also if the elevator to get out of the restaurant is not working it should have a sign on it rather than letting clients just stand and wait and wait.
Thanksgiving dinner was our first time to Davio's. They did an excellent job with a seasonal menu. My husband is not a fan of going into the city however Davio's makes the trip very convenient with valet parking and even hubby agreed that the it was worth the trip. He is looking forward to going back for the steak menu!
Excellent service, average food.
I ordered a steak which was a little on the cold side. My wife and son ordered pasta dishes which were good but not outstanding.
Our server was very nice, she even had the kitchen specially prepare my son's dessert to
reflect his birthday, which was nice.
We drove from an hour away, to spend the evening with friends staying in the city. We picked Davio's because of it's reputation of being a top notch restaurant. We were not disappointed! The overall experience was wonderful. Food was excellent. Service was outstanding! Wine was outstanding. We will definitely return!
Davio’s was a very nice restaurant with an amazing waitstaff. The tuna tartare appetizer and the seared scallops with sweet creamy corn entree were delicious. My husband and my son had the braised veal agnolotti and found it unimpressive. Their signature popover could be a meal in itself. A little butter and a good cup of decaf coffee and I’d be good to go!
Chose Davio's for our anniversary dinner as we've enjoyed dining at the new King of Prussia location. They wait staff was very friendly and were kind enough to acknowledge our anniversary. The food was very good and it was nice to see other choices from the other locations. Our waiter was sufficient but it was difficult to understand him as he spoke too quickly and quietly. We were not able to stay for dessert but they did provide a pretty plate of small desserts that said Happy Anniversary in chocolate!
