Davio's - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
There were four of us, and this was our first time. Katie, our server, was especially attentive. We were seated promptly, even though the place was very busy. Other servers helped us with our coats and made us feel welcome. Food choices were thoroughly explained. The scallops and 18 oz. ribeye were especially good, as was my flatiron steak, which came as a complete meal with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Drinks were good (and not skimpy). Atmosphere was pleasant, vibrant and conversational. It was pricey (so bring the credit card), but was worth the experience.
The food was excellent the service was okay as our server was too busy with another table and the table location was terrible as there was a large party next to us and we specifically asked for a special area for our 45th wedding anniversary lot of restaurants in Philly I'll think twice about returning
I was really looking forward to my first meal at Davio's but was very underwhelmed by the quality of our breakfast yesterday. We all ordered the buffet and it just didn't impress me at all. I had heard such good things about Davio's and was expecting so much more than what I'd find at the cheap dinner buffet in my town, but that's pretty much what we got. I instantly had remorse that I ordered the buffet instead of an omelette or breakfast sandwich. The scrambled eggs were this clumpy mass and pretty tasteless. Overall, other than the pastry choices, is was just such a basic offering. Very disappointed.
I was seated next to a partition close to the kitchen entrance. There was a large table of 8 behind me. Servers bumped into my chair no less than 10 times during the course of our meal. It was beyond frustrating. They did not seem to notice as they were in a hurry. I just did not feel like a valued customer. Will not return. Better restaurants at this price point!in the city.
This restaurant does not disappoint with the high level of service, attentive wait staff and delicious food. The menu accommodates food allergies (e.g. celiac/gluten free) and the wine list is extensive. We are repeat guests and will definitely visit again.
The location is very aged and if your seated near a window you will freeze. Service took a very long time and our table was not ready even though we had the first reservation of the night. They don’t have many options if you have a dairy allergy, even though over the phone the assured me the chef would accommodate the allergy. I enjoy the King of Prussia location much better. Even though i would not return to any Davio’s with someone with dietary restrictions. I wouldn’t waist time going to the philadelphia location again.
This place was amazing , food was sooooo good !! The service was by far the best service I have received in a high end restaurant. Was seated immediately, servers were very attentive and the food was great on top of that. Went on the last day of restaurant week and it was well worth it . The ambience and overall feel of the restaurant made the experience better than what it already was. Would recommend everyone to go!
Tried Davio's during Restaurant Week. Awful food, excellent service. Mushy crab claws, over dressed & too much vinegar in warm spinach salad, beef so tough - unable to be cut, salty & cool mashed potatoes.
Excellent pop over roll
Excellent grilled shrimp
Excellent staff and mgr
The restaurant is a little dated and the service was just okay. We had to ask for an iced tea refill and were not offered a bread basket (standard). We enjoyed the mushroom bisque soup; the crab cake sandwich and chicken entrees were nothing special. The mini dessert plate was delicious. There are too many great restaurants in center city to dine here.
We placed our reservation here during restaurant week.
Once our waiter realized that we were actually going to order off the “set restaurant week menu” his entire demeanor changed. Very disappointing to say the least.
Even though my meal cost $35, I did purchase a $120 bottle of wine and a appetizer to share with the table.
If they do not want to participate in restaurant week, then don’t! Not impressed at all.
This was our very first visit to Davio’s. The food, service and atmosphere was absolutely spectacular in every respect. Christian our waiter could not have been any more attentive or professional. I am disappointed in that we did not find this restaurant sooner, it will become one of our favorites very soon
Our party enjoyed a superb Center City Restaurant Week lunch at Davio's this past week . The potato-leek soup and the salmon with lentils main course were both perfect. The portions were so generous that we barely had room for dessert. Well done and highly recommended!
