Davio's Lynnfield Ratings and Reviews
Staff were constantly bugging us ......cleared our plates while my friend and I were still eating her fries.....and wanted us to speed up to leave after our one hour lunch yet there were plenty of empty tables. Very underwhelmed. Food was average and very overpriced.
Everybody was very pleased with their meal choices all of which were prepared exquisitely.
We found the noise level in the restaurant to be a little bit annoying but were expecting it to be so.
As often seems to happen on these occasions, it’s your waiter or waitress who makes the biggest difference in your dining experience.
Our server was a pleasant young man but needs better training in terms of tableservice. We were neglected for most of the evening and water glasses were never replenished. Since I am a big wine guy I am not averse to pouring wine for everyone once it’s initially poured for the table.
However it would’ve been at least a courtesy to have been offered to have wine poured by our server who in spite of his poor service received a 20% gratuity.
Oh well. Until next time...
We love Davios. After moving from Boston to the North Shore we’ve found it extremely difficult to find a high end restaurant with excellent service. Don’t get me wrong there are plenty of places with fast and polite service but if you are looking for a Boston experience where your meal is always correct I recommend Davios.
Our Christmas Eve early dinner was wonderful. Great food and service. It was a
very relaxing time with family mrmbers, including a 2 year old.
It is one of our go to restaurants. Nothing has ever disappointed us. Great salads and the chicken livers are incredible. There is something for everyone on the menu. Our son, who lives in Philly and goes to the Philly Davios loves their popovers as well.
The Boston restaurant was also the first place we took our vegetarian daughters future Canadian husband out to dinner .
Good memories, food and service.
We enjoy Davios in Atlanta where we live as well as in Lynnfield where we often visit. Food is good albeit a little pricey, good atmosphere, service, lively crowd. My pasta dish was very good but served on a cold plate. Nothing worse than getting a nicely prepared and tasty meal that goes cold after a couple bites.
I understand that restaurants get busy around the holidays (my wife works in the industry); however, due to a large function going on at the same time our meal took 2.5 hours - it was obvious the kitchen just got overwhelmed. Both the appetizers and meal were extremely slow coming out and as this was a business related lunch for me it was extremely frustrating since it put my clients a bit on edge. I do enjoy Davios and go to Boston and Foxboro locations; however, I will likely not return to the Lynnfield location for future business related meals. Thank you.
Very disappointed in the three entrees ordered, salmon, scallops and sole. Two of the three were dry, overcooked, over salted and visuslly unappealing. All three clearly sat in the kitchen for a while before being served. They were something between warm and cool by the time they arrived. The sever was pleasant but too busy, everything about the night was slow/delayed and one apology after another. Holidays so still tipped 20% but we all left feeling taken by Davios on this night :/
Very good ambiance, food, and service was good. First time at a Davio's, and didn't know what to expect. The name is a bit confusing... Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse. More a steakhouse, than an italian restaurant. Which was what I was hoping when I booked it for a business dinner.
Nice time with friends. Wife had been there before and suggested we go there with another couple. Great atmosphere and festive feel. All the staff especially bar staff were professional, attentive and personable. Once seated our food was very good. Mussels (garlic/wine) plump and tasty. Wife loved her salmon. Only downside was my pork chop came out undercooked and had to go back for another 10 minutes affecting flow of dinner. It happens. Once properly cooked was very nice. We were never rushed and enjoyed our company from 8-11. Our waiter may have been new and did her best under busy conditions. Will definitely come back.
after a wait for a dining room table to be set we were led to a bar area table ... objected and we were seated at our original table. waited for 15 minutes for our wine to be delivered. Ribeye had huge chunks of fat on the edges. i am used to marbled ribeye but this was excessive. we ordered the choc cake on the recommendation of our waitress. taste was non existent ... to her credit she took it off the bill
i dont mind paying top dollar for a great dining experience. this was very disappointing
Awful! Awful! Awful!
Granted we had large group of 12 but they said they were used to accommodating.
We could not hear each other - the noise level was absolutely ridiculous.
Food arrived COLD. Mixed drink orders WRONG. Wine we ordered WRONG.
Unpleasant servers! One of the gals clearing our table was rough - she dropped multiple dishes. Food on our laps and she had the most obnoxious perfume on - so strong it overpowered all of us as she moved up & down the table.
The server dropped multiple glasses aside of our table breaking them each time. It was so uncomfortable covering our legs hoping the glass did not hit us.
Terrible Service. Food was just okay and served COLD.
We left to have our dessert at LICKS ICE CREAM.
That was greatest part of our evening.
Great service and an interesting menu. Food was prepared with innovation. However, I was disappointed in my pork chop. The menu did not speak to how sweet the sauce would be only mentioning pear butter. I prefer savory sweet, but that’s a personal preference.
The food, especially the shrimp and steak, was excellent. I didn't like the caesar salad at all-very different. Don't go here if you think you are going to have a nice, quiet meal-it is extremely loud with a bar that lots of folks sit at. Not sure if I would return due to price and noise-but if that isn't a factor - then I do recommend.
We had a midday dinner on thanksgiving. We have been to Davio’s many times, including last thanksgiving, so we knew what to expect. The food is excellent and the ambiance is soothing and lovely. A negative for this visit was our waiter, who seemed somewhat hyper and anxious for us to move the meal along. He hovered and I saw him watching us multiple times. The second a piece of silverware was put down, he was right there to take things away. Our visit last year felt much more relaxed and leisurely, so that was a bit of a disappointment. But we will certainly still return and hope that this fellow will not be there, or at least, not be our server.
A very nice thanksgiving meal. A wonderful break from the usual preparation for Thanksgiving dinner at home. Food was great. The squash and string beans were terrific (I am not usually a big fan of either) and the pumpkin pie for dessert topped it off. We also ordered the turkey sandwich to go so we would have leftovers and enjoyed a hot turkey sandwich on Friday.
I definitely will do this again.
