Amazing atmosphere and fantastic food. Peter was our waiter and he handled everything perfectly. A definite place to dine and return to.
Our favorite restaurant downtown. From the Ahi starter through the Tiger Prawns, everything presented was flavorful and bountiful.
See you again soon.
Is it possible to add extra "stars" for the wonderful service? The wait staff are the best -- knowledgeable, prompt, seamless. The people who greet your when you come in are warm and welcoming. Oh, and the food is terrific, too. But the employees are what make Da Vinci's such a great place.
DaVinci's was absolutely great as usual. Highly, highly recommended. Difficult for any restaurant to be consistently Excellent for 20+ years but DaVinci's remains Outstanding in every way. Our server Matthew who been at DaVinci's forever was extremely competent & made us feel at home as usual.
Our table was ready on time. Our server Tamara was attentive, sociable and very accommodating for our group. Our meal was exquisite. Hangar steak cooked to perfect medium rare. Duck breast with risotto was amazing. Crab ravioli was pleasing. Tiger prawns were the star of the table. The drinks from the bar were just right, not too weak or strong. I personally enjoyed the Davinci Gin & Tonic while my sister (birthday girl) had a refreshing malibu drink. Overall, was a great place to start our birthday party celebration.
We did not experience what was noted on open table. Our server said they did not allow a small taste of wine prior to a selection of $12-15 per glass red wines. The food was not what i expected in flavor and was a big disappointment unfortunately. It lacked flavor and bright flavor.
Food was exceptional, atmosphere was romantic and service was great. We both got their handcrafted cocktails which tasted great but it seemed like they skimped on the alcohol a bit on both, that was our only let down. Otherwise would definitely recommend!
Wonderful, informed wait staff, quality ingredients deliciously prepared. A dining experience well worth the drive from Albany.
Service was great. Food was phenomenal. Prices were Fair for the love of food.
Our favorite place to eat and hang out in Salem! Love the staff, ambiance and food.
Wonderful evening, meal and service. They have been around 28 years and still hit the mark every time out.
Valentines Day. It was lovely.
We love DaVinci’s for the atmosphere, very romantic and warm, the great food and very good service. The wine selection is excellent and the owner is more than happy to assist in your selection. The restaurant has a European vibe and is appointed with old world art. We enjoy the live piano music and the nice touches, like the silent film playing on the wall as you ascend the stairs. It is a lovely place for a romantic date or gathering of friends and family. The servers are friendly and provide excellent service. This is our go to restaurant for fine dining in Salem.
Food was Luke warm and needed salt
Excellent ravioli and sea sea bass. Nice wine and dessert. We will be back.
I love the live piano and the classic movie playing in the restaurant. Great atmosphere in a beautiful older building. Food is great, although I prefer a more traditional Italian fare and a little less duck egg on my Italian restaurant menu. Great wine selection.
Loved the live piano music, ambiance, great service, and good food.
Food was average. Service was good, but it was very noisy with the drum machine playing throughout dinner. It was so loud that it was hard to have a conversation with our friends. Overall it was a good night, not great.
Best bet in Salem! We dine here for all our special occasions. Wine list is outstanding and the food has been delicious every time. Great happy hour menu from the presidential salad to the special bread. Thank you James for the great bar service and thank you Moe for have such a delightful restaurant.
Over an hour for food to arrive. Waiter was pleasant, to a fault, spending several minutes talking to tables when there was service to provide. Food was fine, as usual, but wait staff is poorly trained and, as this is one of several visits to Davinci’s, it is a pattern
1st time visiting and I was pleasantly pleased with the whole experience. Service was quick and friendly. Food tasted great and drinks well flavored. Great atmosphere and vibe threw out the restaurant. Definitely recommend and I will be going back.
Although they were having a difficult evening due to a shortage in chefs, the wait staff were very polite and doing their best to manage the shortfall. Appetizers and three of the four food dishes ordered were rated as very good. My fish, however, was undercooked, basically raw, and I had to send it back. Dessert and coffee were fabulous.
They regularly have live music at the entrance and while I enjoy that, if you are close, it can be difficult to have a conversation plus near the entrance can be cold. When I place my reservation I request a table away from the entrance. My request was clearly accommodated and we had a lovely spot upstairs away from the entrance and had a delightful experience. We love their pan seared scallops - cooked to perfection!
Sadly OpenTable to make a reservation for a restaurant that was not open on the day we were going. We showed up ready to celebrate New Years Eve and the restaurant was not only closed for NYE but also is never open Sundays. It left us scrambling to find another place to eat.
We reserved a table for early evening on New Years Eve. The food was outstanding and for the 1st part of the meal the service was excellant. The restaurant became quite busy and the service became sketchy for the end of the meal. We waited more than half an hour for our desert. Other than that it was an enjoyable meal and I had one of the best vodka martinis ever. We spent almost $200 on dinner for two so it's not a place we would eat at on a regular basis but we would go back for a special occasion.
Beautiful restaurant with piano jazz and standards which made for a perfect date night. Food and service were excellent.
Exceptional food especially in sleepy, ordinary Salem. Great wine list. Very good service. Accommodating.
Need to get rid off the live music. It’s awful. Too loud, impossible to talk and be heard even if you sit upstairs, selection of tunes is pitiful and doesn’t go with the upscale food.
DaVinci's is in a league of their own. I wish I had discovered this Salem gem long ago!! Everything was pure perfection from the moment we walked in. The pianist was great and played amazingly. Everything about the food was devine. We will definitely be returning with friends so they too can experience greatness....
In 15+ years of dining here, this was the first negative experience we’ve had. It was so slow. Waiter was not attentive. A huge let down for the great dinner experience we were looking forward to.
Reservation was made in advance. When we arrive we were to bee seated in the bar next to the front door, which was very cold and drafty. I requested a move to a better location. We were seated upstairs. The flatbread starter was served after dinner was served. We were ask if we were their for dinner before the play and were were not. The service and meal was rushed and felt as if they wanted to move us out as quickly as possible. Service from the waiter was the worst part. Meal was OK, but ruined by the service and being rushed. For $200 we were highly disappointed, we traveled from the Tualatin area for something new.
Davinci is always a great place to eat. We had dinner right before seeing the Nutcracker at the Elsinore next door. It was a perfect evening out.
Awesome as always. Very special place. Salem gem. It has withstood the ups & downs of the economy.
DaVinci’s is always great for a nice meal out. Nice ambiance, solidly good food every time we’ve been (their pasta and fish specials have all been excellent), frequently they have live piano music, they have a great wine list, and the bar makes great cocktails if you ask (they don’t have a specific menu for the cocktails as far as I’m aware, but we’ve had a few specials just by asking).
The food was excellent. They made a special risotto for me since I didn’t like the mushroom risotto they were serving that night. It was fantastic - bolognese, peas, cream. Pappardelle was fantastic as was the garganelli with meatballs and pomodoro was perfect.
The dinner service by James the bartender was impeccable. The kind of service that doesn’t make you blink an eye at the bill because you were so well taken care of.
The food was good, but service was very slow. We had tickets for show and slow service made dessert a no go.
Celebrated with a birthday dinner at Davinci's. Absolutely love this place. It is very obvious that the owner is passionate about his restaurant, from the atmosphere, cocktails to the fabulous food. This is a special place and I highly recommend coming here for that special dinner. Wonderful.
What a wonderful dining experience. The ambiance, service and food was impeccable. We are from way out of town, but whenever we visit my father-in-law in Salem, we will also be visiting DaVinci
Semi-fancy, wonderful dinner choices, quiet serene tables, dinner total bout $50 each, so good for special occasions or memorable business meal. Seafood fettuccini delectable. Attentive staff, too.
Excellent service. Delicious food. Great beverage selection. Comfortable environment.
Great food. Pasta dishes were Grand and the wine list substantial
