David's Club - Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate Ratings and Reviews
Overall it was not a bad experience. the ribeye stakes were extremely tough, but wife's short ribs were good. The area restaurant manager did step up to the plate and did comp the entrees (ribeye steaks) after the fact. Would not recommend. Tim the waiter provided superb service.
The meal was very good but the seats are not comfortable and the noise level was high due to all the hotel residents there with little children. Children were loud, running around and while not the restaurants fault, it did downgrade the meal noticeably. For a business lunch it would have been fine but for an evening out with your wife -not so much when the tourists are there with kids.
I took my husband to David's Club at the Omni Resort for his birthday. Another couple joined us and we took advantage of the Magical Dining menu. We were all extremely pleased with our food and our server was exceptional. It was a quiet night at the restaurant, which gave us a good opportunity for conversation. At the end of the evening, we all concluded that we would definitely be back. The overall experience was great!!
The night we dined, Davids Club was having price fix specials, three course meals for $33.00 that included their 8 ounce filet. We don't eat beef very often but the steaks were excellent. Our server was very friendly and helpful with some great recommendations. We would dine there again without question.
The restaurant was physically uncomfortable due to the chair height being proportionately too low and/or the table height too high for dining. The most uncomfortable feature for my wife and I, as well as other diners was the very cold air conditioner temperature. It caused our food to chill quickly. My wife was also feeling cold even with her jacket on. We noticed children at a nearby table were also cold - the boy kept sitting on his hands, and the girl kept pulling down her sweater sleeves over her hands, while the mother sat hunched in her chair. We reached the point where we decided enough was enough and asked for the manager. He then had engineering make it warmer in the restaurant, but it became cold again. He also offered us hot deserts and coffee. We then found that the coffee had been added to our bill however, instead of being complimentary as offered -- $10.00 total ($5.00 apiece) for the cups of coffee given to us. We did not try to talk to the person presented as the restaurant manager any further. Instead, we went to the front desk of the hotel as we were staying there for the holiday weekend, and told the front desk manager what had occurred. His face could only be described as expressing disbelief that this had happened to us. He adjusted the hotel-restaurant billing, and also promised to have the issue thoroughly looked in to. We also told him that the other 2 hotel property restaurants we dined in during our stay were both very positive experiences, and thus our experience that evening at David's had been especially surprising to us. We therefore cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone until the physical atmosphere as well as the management handling of problems has been corrected.
Service was great. Our waitress was very attentive and when she was busy, others stepped in to assist her.
Some of my veggies were quite tough - especially the Brussel sprouts. I couldn't eat them. I wasn't crazy about the wooden serving platters. Looked like they've seen better days.
Overall a tasty meal. I wanted to try it during Orlando's magical dining month and I would return!
P.S. disabled access to the restroom is horrible. you have to get through two doors to the restroom.
Really disappointed in the food quality. We did the Magical dining and I ordered the French onion soup. Very Little baked cheese on top and it was burnt which flavored the broth burnt as well. Had high hopes for my steak...WRONG. It came out barely warm which told my husband and I it had been sitting there. We told the manager who misunderstood and took our food to have them reheat it. Now my medium rare steak is now well done. I have never had my food come out reheated, but a new properly prepared entree returned to me. I was stunned that we received the same steak and sides just reheated. WOW... We shared our feelings and she was gracious to not charge us which was fair since we could not eat our meal. Had to go elsewhere to have dinner. Will not return nor recommend.
We did not realize just how noisy this place was. Kids were everywhere playing games and bar guess where very loud. The whole place was loud and we were yelling at our guess to be heard. The foods was very good. We would come back again, but not with guess.
We have been to David's over and over again as we frequent the Omni hotel. David's restaurant can be exceptionally good and it can also be just fair/poor. It's rather unfortunate it's not consistent. I think if you make a reservation earlier in the evening, the food comes out quite delicious but as the evening wanes down, the food becomes sloppy, over cooked, over soaked in sauces or too greasy ( that burnt grease too).
It's hard to review a restaurant that I have had both good and bad experiences at. The one thing I can say about David's is the staff are remarkable, very pleasant, even know my kids names, try to fix wrong dishes and take bad dishes off the bill.
All I can say is it's an expensive gamble but when they are on, the food is heavenly.
I hope their food meets the marks that makes them a memorable treat. I truly want them to thrive!
We stayed at the Omni for 5 days and dined at David's 2 nights. This was more of a sports bar than a restaurant but it was slow at the Omni and this was the only option for dining. The first night service and the food were very good, better than you would expect. Our server was warm, personable and attentive. My wife had the Bone-In Ribeye and I had the Center Cut Filet Mignon. Both were very good. A few days later we stopped in again but this time service wasn't as good and my filet was served rare when I had ordered it medium. It was taken back but instead of grilling it a little more, they prepared a brand new filet and again, it was rare. I wondered if there was a different chef this time around as I didn't have this trouble before.
Quite loud due to big groups. It took a long time for our waiter to come to our table, even after he had walked past us several times and had been standing around. He was fine when he finally served us. The food was not memorable. Sea bas tasted like it had been over salted. I mentioned it to the waiter and he the chef does not salt anything.... but 2 us tried it and yes, too salty. It was replaced and came back plain as requested with none of the crust etc or stuff with anything. The place was ok and probably has better days. For our experience, unfortunately, we might not return again too soon.
Have been to David's Club before and really like this place a LOT...there were 7 of us, along w/ a lot of other people celebrating, so the noise level was pretty high...but it was a TON of fun...food was excellent...most of us had the filet mignon...totally delicious and cooked perfectly rare for me...the wine list was excellent and we all enjoyed what we had selected. I would definitely book another celebration there...or even just a bite at the bar...
Always eat here when staying at the Omni. Always enjoy the laid back, clubby atmosphere, seat by the window with a view of the lazy river. Had the Aleppo Pepper Chicken wings app and it was very tasty. Had the special salmon on the Washington State menu and really enjoyed it. Dear hubbie had his old favorite grilled cheese with a mac ad cheese side. He loves his cheese and finds David's mac n cheese very cheesy. We asked to not be rushed and service was very relaxed. Enjoyed the whole evening.
We live part time in the area and will dine intermittently at David's . I've never been impressed with the food but enjoyed the place. But the other night was exceptional . Braised beef was perfectly prepared, salmon was moist and flavor great. Vegetable portions skimpy for price but were prepared and served just right. Evidently there is a new chef and based on my recent meal , I'll be back
We were pleased to get reservations for our group[ at this busy restaurant and were seated quickly when our people arrived. The food was fantastic as most of our guests had the filet and you could cut it with a butter knife, and so tasty. Dessert was delicious as wwe enjoyed carrot cake and cheese cake. The only downside was the slow service.
Very impressed with the operation of this restaurant. Somehow my Opentable reservation was set for the wrong day. The staff was nice enough to adjust it for me and still accommodate my group of 6. This is an upscale sports bar. Great beers on draught and in bottles. We had Rebecca as our waitress and she remembered serving me and my wife on a previous night. She even remembered the obscure beer I was drinking. Food was excellent from steaks to fish. They even were able to accommodate 2 in our group who were vegetarians. My wife said the grilled cheese sandwich was one of the best ever. I had the Washington State inspired salmon as well as the dungeoness crab and pea soup. Awesome combination. Even saved room for the David's Coffee.
We got a nice booth, and we did not have to wait for our drink order to be taken. Our server was excellent and very knowledgable about the menu. I picked the smoky tomato soup and my husband got the French onion soup. They were both excellent. As a vegetarian I picked the quinoa with goat cheese. It was delishious. My husband got the Championsgate Burger and side of mac and cheese. We enjoyed the food very much and felt very comfortable. Love the dark wood interior and the sports bar feel without it being too loud.
I hosted a dinner with a client at David's Bar and was a little bit concerned that it would not be appropriate due to the Sports bar theme. We were surprised. Food was good, menu varied, specials delicious and atmosphere fun. It is a big place and that way the noise does not impact the ambiance. My guests enjoyed themselves as did I.
Very nice upscale sports bar. Tasteful decor, large big screen TV with comfortable leather armchairs for game watching. Interesting food menu, very nicely presented. Everything our party had was good from cocktails to wings.the steaks were expensive for this type of bar.
We went to David's club because it was close to our home in Florida and wanted to try something new. David's Club is set up in a large sports bar and tries to be fine dinning. The meal was average but the prices were extremely high for what we received. We were at a very high end restaurant two nights previous and the meal was less expensive and much better than what we paid at David's. Our bill at David's was over $300 for 3 people with only two drinking and we brought our own wine.
We don't mind spending that type of money if the ambiance, service and food is exceptional but it is not at David's.
Won't be returning or recommending.
