David's Club - Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate Ratings and Reviews
David's Club fell short of our expectations this visit. We have dined there many times and it was one of our favorite places to go. However, this time we were disappointed, mainly by the service. Our server was very hard to find when we needed attention. He did not offer to replenish our drinks and even forgot to bring the glass of red wine our guest ordered with his dinner. As for the food: the crispy chicken was dry and the churros we ordered for dessert came out raw in the middle as did the replacement order. To top off the night, one of the desserts was charged on the wrong bill. We are going to give this restaurant a rest. They weren't even busy.
I was very excited to dine here, especially since on line it said magical dining month had been extended and we could enjoy that feature. Well after being seated, I asked our waiter and he said “no that’s over.” Even when I said the website still showed it was happening, he pretty much dismissed me. The other 3 people in my party enjoyed their meals, and I liked mine except that the fish was pretty much raw inside instead of the medium I was told it would be. I didn’t want to be a hassle so I just didn’t say anything. But for $25, I realize I should have. I did really enjoy the atmosphere.
Went for Magical Dining. Arrived early and we were seated immediately. Got to sample taste the Pinot Noir before ordering a glass. Butter and rolls, especially the cheddar rolls, were delicious. Apps: onion soup was lukewarm...chop chop salad was delicious and cheese dip/fruit/pretzel nubs apps was tasty. Entrees were disappointing. Chicken temp was inconsistent, steaks were unremarkable and all accompanying veggies were lukewarm or cold. The best dessert was the creme brûlée. The bourbon ice cream scoop atop the pecan tart was tasty. Nice grounds to stroll after dinner but not inclined to make the drive again. The manager did come speak with us and gave us comp apps for our next visit...we think not.
David's is a steakhouse, so we ordered steaks. The beef quality and flavor were great. The last I heard, I think their beef is sourced from a farm in Kansas. The sides were fresh and used local ingredients. We have been to David's numerous times and the service is variable, sometimes it is amazing and sometimes it is just okay, but it never has been bad.
The beef filet was excellent. Tender, juicy and cooked just as ordered. The mashed potatoes were good, but lacked imagination, could have used more flavor. The Florida Black Grouper was a delicious fish, served perfectly cooked. Again the sides were good. My server Joey was excellent! Attentive, but not pushy. Wonderful service.
Having dined here on many occasions, my husband and I were extremely disappointed with the quality of the food and menu choices. My husband had the grouper, although the fish was cooked perfectly, the accompanying sauce and rosti potato were cold. On informing our server the dish was removed but brought back a few minutes later having been microwaved and still wasn't really any hotter. Also, having chosen sparkling bottled water as out water preference, both bottles of water came out warm and not chilled.
Our family arrived at the Omni at Championsgate and settled into our room in the late afternoon. We had a reservation which I made ahead of time at David's ... first time dining there and what a wonderful atmosphere ... very warm and friendly ... food selection was great and we had a delicious meal! Will eat there again this trip! Our waiter, I believe his name was Mike, went out of his way to make our evening enjoyable. Highly recommend!
When we are back in our old stomping grounds of the Celebration area of Orlando, we always try to make a stop at David's. great staff. Great steaks. Black grouper is fabulous. Terrific bar, too, and can even catch the game....yet with upscale dining. Just comfortable but yet very nice. Always enjoy dinner at David's.
Changed reservation with hotel concierge at 9:30 am and she said she would personally take care of it because restaurant wasn't open yet. Reservation was never changed and we waited 2 hours for a table. Some food was cold when served. Would not recommend on holiday! Only redeeming quality was the pool tables and the huge screen t.v. for watching football. Beautiful place, very pricey, nothing special as far as food goes.
Overall it was not a bad experience. the ribeye stakes were extremely tough, but wife's short ribs were good. The area restaurant manager did step up to the plate and did comp the entrees (ribeye steaks) after the fact. Would not recommend. Tim the waiter provided superb service.
