David Burke Prime at Foxwoods Ratings and Reviews
I had a great first experience months ago and was excited to bring my fiance. Unfortunately his first experience was nothing like mine. We had reservation for 945, I understand it was Valentine's day and the restaurant was busy but Jessica our waitress was not friendly at all. We had to ask her for bread, we had to keep getting her attention and then she took my order wrong. When she came back to clarify the miss understanding I told her I didnt want to wait for my "steak hats" when never saw her again. Jessica never came back to our table.. Tony took care of us for the rest of the night. TONY was GREAT!!
LOVE this restaurant as you can see my past reviews have all been 5 stars. This day not so much. What I can’t stand about restaurants on their “special days” is how they hammer the guest. Their 49 dollar set price menu they always have was conveniently gone for Valentine’s Day even though everything else was the same. Bartender was asked if it was available and he checked with the woman and she audibly said “we are trying to discourage guests from ordering it but we will if they insist”. Needless to say it was asked 2x to him after she answered him and his answer was still no both times.
Absolutely clueless when it comes to customer service. They also stopped making the “table side” Caesar salad because it was “too busy” which it 100% was not. So I paid 16 for the same salad made In the kitchen. And if it’s too busy then how do you make it on Saturday or any other busy night? And their specials were a SEVENTY dollar duck entree and a NINETY dollar surf and turf entree or a 25 dollar beef carpaccio??? Are they for real??? Sad and pathetic all rolled into one. Feels like 300 dollars wasted last night on what should have been a special night with my wife. Surreal.
This was not a very good experience, as I had hoped.
I was looking forward to this dinner for weeks. I made reservations on January 15th for February 13th for 6pm. As a single dinner, I was given one of 4 horrible tables in the house. I was seated in the far back near the doorway to the service area with a nice view of the backs of the waiters waiting guard over the dining room. DB was one of my favorite restaurants, but it clearly was not up to par on this visit.
This is the first time we had a wait about 25 minutes before being seated. There were other couples that came in after us and they were seated before us. We had a party of three and arrived 5 minutes before our reservation, so I didn't understand the delay. I asked the hostess twice when we would be seated and both times she said the wait was additional 10 minutes.
They also seated us at a table right in front of the table station, so it was very noisy with the dishes behind us.
On a good note, the server was outstanding.
Our dinner at David Burke’s was a wonderful experience. We had the Clothesline Bacon for an appetizer, the 60 day aged Sirloin for dinner and the Cheesecake Lollipop Cake for dessert. Our food service was nothing less than professional and courteous. The Sommelier suggested the perfect wine for our dinner and the young man that waited on us suggested the best after dinner drink. The overall experience...excellent! Can’t wait to go back again.
Filet was perfect. Cooked to medium rare as requested. Baked potato was huge but delicious. Table-side Caesar salad was spot on. The negatives are the creamed spinich was too creamy and needed a crunch such as bread crumbs or crisp parasean. The popovers/Yorkshire pudding, as it is known in the UK is basically a crust. Almost no bread inside to butter. Yorkshire pudding is typicaly served with gravy. Big miss not having a real bread and just serving a fancy looking crust. Had to ask waiter for more wine each time. They should be asking you, not waiting for us to ask. Will definitely go again and sit at the bar next time.
This was our second time at David Burke Prime Steakhouse. The first was 5 star all the way. This visit the Salmon was just not as good as the last time. It was a thin cut not blackened as before. The rice and vegetables were not cooked enough. Presentation of the dish was sloppy. The chicken plate was ok but not a grand slam out of the park plate. I’m hoping next time they can WOW US like they did on our first visit. One last thing was the close line bacon was served cold.😟
This was an excellent experience for my wife, mother-in-law and myself. Our server was great. The food was, for the most part, excellent. My wife's prime rib was great. My rib-eye, not so much. I got the 55 day aged. It was not as tender as I expected given the aging. And it was a little past the medium rare that I asked for. We would go back but this is the second time I have tried the rib-eye, my favorite cut of steak and I wouldn't order it again.
We are David Burke regulars, per usual the food was excellent. This time however we were disappointed by the service. Our table of four waited nearly an hour and half for our entree course. Our meal which included a salad, appetizer and entree took two and a half hours star to finish.
Excellent service and food. Great attention to detail for such a large restaurant. The wine list was the only disappointment. A very large and impressive selection, but nothing under $80 for a nice bottle of wine! We are very familiar with many of the labels/vineyards, and can figure out the extravagant mark up. We opted not to have wine with dinner because of this. Bad enough the drinks were $15-$17 apiece.... Manhattan prices. Even so, dinner was very enjoyable.
I’ve been to this restaurant many times, and have always enjoyed the food and the dining experience. This particular night was better than any previous visit - from the time we sat down until the time we left, Brian and his team took excellent care of us, and the food was out of this world. One of our party has a gluten allergy, and Brian could not have been more helpful with his menu knowledge. He was extremely helpful to her. I will be back, and I will ALWAYS recommend your restaurant to anyone going to Foxwoods for dinner.
food was excellent. Steaks were ordered medium plus and they came out
rare plus. I sent mine back twice and it finally came back ok.
Mgr apologized. Problem when this happens, the other person eating with uou continues to eat
and she is probably more than half finished by the time you
get the corrected steak.
I would still come back to the restaurant as the food is good
Not worth the visit for 2 people. Most couples are stuffed into the front of the house where there is less intimate space, sitting almost shoulder to shoulder with other people. The service is not good overall at the front of the house which is an additional concern. All together not acceptable for a $275 dinner for 2 (excludes tip).
Another great meal at David Burke's. We haven't been here in quite a while, so made a last minute date. Our servers were awesome. So attentive and welcoming. We ordered the special porterhouse, carved right at our table. Impressive and delicious. Our only regret is that we left without our takeout bag being brought back to the table. Maybe next time!
