We should have known right away when it's 6:30 on a Saturday night and only 7 people were in the restaurant, that something wasn't right. Ok, it's a little early but still. Bartender was great. Perfect cocktails and good wine. The slight issue was with the food. "Canned" veggies were fine but nothing great. It said pickled and fresh veggies. It could have been more pickled for my liking but again, it was fresh but boring and very boring artichoke dip. The chicken fried mushrooms were fun, creative and very D. Burke ish. The lobster ravioli was gross. Thick doughy pasta and previously frozen lobster meat piled high in a domed ravioli. It was watery and chewy. The rib eye was ordered medium rare with emphasis on the rare. It was medium rare but more medium. Again, fine but nothing great for $55. The manager came by to see why we only ate one of three ravioli and then said, the chef wants feedback. Always great to hear that. He described the ravioli filling as a mixture of lobster and shrimp. $41 for lobster and shrimp? The menu says lobster. Nothing about shrimp. We like Burke restaurants but this one feels like David forgot that he had it. To make up for it, they took my $6 cappuccino off the $215 bill.

Opted to try DBK for a business breakfast since I live in SoHo and hadn't ever been. Deeply average. The room is decent and sufficiently bright despite it being subterranean. Waiter was pleasant enough and service was fine. Menu is very limited for breakfast (just a handful of items) and it is augmented with a buffet. The buffet was also "ok" but pretty skimpy. Problem for this restaurant is that it is not differentiated in any manner from the 18 other places to eat which are frankly better in the neighborhood. I'm unlikely to return until the space gets re-jiggered into something other than DBK.
We have been there several times in the past. The service from the waiter was not good at all. My date was just into appetizers, ordered several. Then I ordered a dinner, just me. He was kind of annoyed about how we were ordering. The place wasn't busy, a lot of empty tables, so I am not sure what his problem was. The busboys were very helpful.
I paid in cash, the bill was $139, I gave him $200 and was asked 3 times, 1 by a tall lady who took my check and twice by the waiter... It took 15 minutes to get change...
The food is outstanding. The dining room is very bright and an open space. Our server Sam was lovely and the manager Jesse was outstanding. I came for Christmas dinner and realized my favorite dish Japanese Eggplant Parm was not on the menu. I called the day before and he made sure even though it was not on the menu both myself and my mom (she loves that dish too) were able to order it. I also ordered the beef tartare which was very tasty! I would definitely go back and recommend it highly to others.
The food was excellent but I felt the service was not was I was used to at a David Burke restaurant. Perhaps my expectations where too high . I felt like I had to seek out staff for services...

What a delightful lunch we had. The food was really exceptional - We had twins who were two - they loved it and there is not kiddie menu - an absolute must is the eggplant “parm” - the burger - one of the cities best - The staff was warm and lovely and happy to see two toddlers
My business partner had one of the craft cocktails and was raving about it, my husband the cider - and i thought The sparking rose was perfect - try the mushrooms - YUMMY - and the cake pops of course were a big hit with the kids - what a good choice for a “business” holdiday lunch
the Bacon is off the hook - hand cut made in house it was worth every penny!
Dinner Salad was fresh but lacked flavor.
The bread was true artisan bread - with each bite you could picture the baker kneeling every nook and corner - it not only look good but each different price was delicious.
the entries: i had a 2 inch thick ribeye which was cooked to perfections medium rare. It was a bit muscle but was seared and season perfectly, My Son had the Halibut a bit over cooked but tasty. My wife and daughter both had the Salmon cooked perfectly they both ate every piece.
we saved room for the Piecaken a bit disappointed as it tasted a bit stale and should have been retired earlier in the week.
we ended the evening with a delicious cup of hearty coffee and some of there homemade peanut butter brittle witch was delicious.
the service was attentive but not overly. Our family recommends with string 4 - we would have the money bread next time -
Having fun at the rooftop bar. Came downstairs to the restaurant and it was just boring.
No one was in there!!! Service and food were just OK. Would not go back, and very expensive.
