About
Simply outstanding nothing more and nothing less
Horrible, horrible, horrible service. Dinner took 2.5 hours. Unbelievably terrible.
We wanted to have lunch in the Garden at David Burke's Kitchen, but it was 91° the day we went so we ate in the treehouse. The food was delicious, but the ambiance is really in the outdoor garden (or in the main restaurant downstairs). We're going back when it's a bit cooler to experience the garden atmosphere.
I’ve come for Restaurant week several times in the past and it seemed clear that the quality of the food has gone down and several compromises were made on the food-from a mediocre gazpacho to diver scallops that were so thin it seemed that they had been sliced in thirds. Our waiter also seemed to have forgotten to put our food order in because another waiter had to take note and step in after waiting 45 minutes. And we had to ask for bread, as none was offered.
Delicious food. Gorgeous ambiance. But...The worse service I’ve experienced in NYC. Rude waiter. Food came before our drinks. A side we ordered with brunch came extremely late and then they tried to over charge us for it.
We arrived and the restaurant at 1pm for Saturday brunch and it was almost completely empty, which wasn't a great sign... we were seated and the servers were all quite attentive. Drinks and Food were all quite good. Prices are on the higher end for a casual place in NYC that doesn't even have a "scene" to boast or good DJ/music to boast. I went to use the restroom and it was locked, and a man inside said almost done.. I assumed it was being cleaned. I waiting a few minutes. a few more guys gathered all waiting to use the bathroom. after about 7-10 minutes waiting I knocked again, I was a bit suspicious of what was going on, typically when a restroom is being cleaned the door isn't locked. I went to find someone that works in the restaurant. they were unable to get in. Finally after banging on the door they opened it and it turned out there was a plumbing problem. during this time the manager to the restaurant had come and gone to use the ladies room herself and completely ignored the entire situation. I was told that was the only bathroom for the restaurant, and was yelled at when I went to use the women's restroom. I later spoke to the manager. She incredibly rude about the entire situation. Needless to say it is a shame that she herself totally tarnished the entire experience. Aside from her and that part of the experience, the service and overall the food/drink was good. If they get rid of that manager, I would definitely go back.
What a gem in SoHo! Loved this place. Quiet, clean, and a beautiful outdoor dining space up and away from Manhattan chaos. Food was fantastic. Can't wait to go back.
Beautiful rooftop, delicious food and amazing service - just a bit pricey !
It’s rrally cool for drinks but it doesn’t have a lot of options for dinner. The place is really nice though
The ambiance on the patio was great and the food was delicious. However, I felt rushed by the servers even though there were plenty of empty tables around us. I was never even asked if I wanted a second drink before the bill was brought to the table.
This was our third time dining at DBK. This time, we went to celebrate my birthday. The food and service were excellent, with one exception - my husband ordered his lamb medium rare and it was served medium well-well done. He still enjoyed the flavor, so he didn’t send it back. This isn’t necessarily the staff’s fault, but there was a table right next to us with four small children. The children were screaming and even crawling all over a staircase and railing right next to our table. This went on for nearly an hour and no one did anything to encourage better behavior, including their parents. Not exactly the fine dining experience we expected. Otherwise, we were pleased and will likely return at some point.
Staff was very attentive upon our arrival. Our waiter brought us the drinks we ordered, and we placed an order for appetizers which all came in a timely fashion. Then we ordered entrees and they took about an hour to arrive. Our waiter was very apologetic and said something about a party in the restaurant at the same time. It was a beautiful night to eat outdoors, however this was way too long to wait for our food.
Extremely slow service not ideal for a business lunch.
Muy lento el servicio
Food great as always. And .. service variable, as always. All over you until you order, and then it's like they forget that you're there. Garden is a great setting for a gorgeous day.
I get the private event but at least there should have been more communication on website or on open table for the private event. Tree house dining is not an experience we were looking for since main dining room was closed for private event. I get the nature of the business but it's still not good enough notice.
We ordered the summer clam boil. The food was a complete disaster. It was overcooked and bland. The clams and mussels all had sand in it. The waiter messed up on the bill and charged my card twice. The only thing decent about this place is the environment.
The food was impeccable. The newly created sausage and octopus past was fantastic. The carrots came back under cooked and under seasoned, but was quickly rectified. Our server was fantastic.
One of my favorite spots! The garden is a great place to enjoy the weather! Amazing service and delicious food! Our waiter Zac was great- he has served us many times and we always leave well fed!!
We had such a lovely lunch in the garden. It was a beautiful day for eating outside. The lobster toast and burrata were delicious!! The hamburger was tasty as well. Friendly service - beautiful ambiance.
My host Alex was great! He added a kind flare to the resturant making it a easy place to love. Every staff we encountered at the dinner weee very kind including the manager. I will return THANKS ALEX!
I had dinner with a friend who I hadn't seen in a long time and we had a great time.
We sat in the garden upstairs on a beautiful summer evening when it was not humid. We started at 6 pm and didn't leave until 9:30 p.m. The wait staff were very attentive throughout the evening.
The food was excellent. I had the pork belly with pineapple shrimp fried rice. Everything was cooked to perfection and timed just right after our appetizers. The rich deserts were so good as well: fruit shortcake and chocolate mouse cake.
It was a perfect NYC summer dinner outing at at great dining place!
Great ambiance. A little oasis in the city. Service was abysmal. No greeting for 15 minutes by the server. We timed it. It was that slow. Server was rude and curt. The location and food really saved the day
Excellent outdoor space for brunch, food amazing, service good and fairly priced... would highly recommend and even had shaded tables / booths to limit sun!
Great food. Order the bacon for fun. If you hare outside during the summer request a table that is well shaded otherwise you will burn to a crisp.
David Burke Garden is one of my go-to restaurants in NYC. It never disappoints. It's great for drinks and dinner. Cocktails are delicious and the food is wonderful. Always a pleasure.
The pina colada pancake was nasty. Very thick and cake like but not tasty. The eggs were unsalted and they left the dry nasty pieces from the egg being over cooked. The drinks were watery and over priced. Over all the food was the LEAST of any reason to go here.
I come to this restaurant often but never for brunch. It was really good, expensive (drinks)
but good. That bialy sandwich was nom, nom. Shout out to Daniel who gave great service
We really enjoyed our dinner. The Garden is lovely and it was a beautiful night. It was lobster Tuesday so we both ordered the special. My wife had the lobster gazpacho and I had the lobster tacos to start. Both were excellent. I had the steamed 1 1/4 lb steamed lobster and my wife had the 1 1/4 lb grilled lobster. Both were perfectly prepared. I got asparagus with my that were large and tender. We each had with me by the glass. I had the Cabernet from Washington called Maurice. Very good and well priced at $15. My wife had a Sauvignon Blanc. Highly recommend. We will be back!
i REALLY ENJOY THIS RESTAURANT AND ALWAYS BRING PEOPLE FROM OUT OF TOWN HERE. dELICIOUS FOOD, GREAT SERVICE. A PERFECT NIGHT IS SOME COCKTAILS AT JIMMY AT THE JAMES ROOFTOP AND THEN DOWN TO DAVID BURKE'S FOR DINNER. PERFECT!
Service was disappointing - our food was delivered to another customer and it got worse from there
Great rooftop dining. Food was good
I've been here so many times. I prefer to go in the summer so I can sit outside. Usually do a few cocktails at Jimmy at the James then come down to eat. It's always a perfect night. Food, ambiance, everything is great
Amazing food and cocktails with terrific service. Not cheap.
Incredible food, service, and ambience!
The food is exceptional. The staff is generous and accommodating. The vibe is uber cool.
Beautiful outdoor setting. Good food for meat eaters and vegetarians. Can even accommodate vegans. Great drink menu. Pricey menu. You pay for ambiance.
Service and presentation was very poor!
Great service. Fantastic meal. Was there for an event, loved the food and decided to back for a real meal. Glad I did. It goes straight to my favorites list.
The food was great and the space is perfect for the summer. BUT it is expensive!! It is a shame that they cannot have wines below $80, when there are amazing bottles out there at not so high prices.
