This is my new favorite Italian restaurant. The pizza is amazing and every dish we ordered was delicious. The Cacio de Pepe is the best I ever had and everything came out fast and fresh. Would highly recommend this place.
Love the Vasi de Ricotta and the Doc pizza. Wait staff is very attentive without being overbearing.
Good food and service
Dependable great food and service
This has become one of our favorites!
We arrived at a quiet time but there was a large gathering in the backroom. As it was brunch, our food came out at all different times. The pancakes were great but the pizza was so so (and for $17, I would expect more). I also found the $18 cheese/meat plate lacking as well.
The food and wine are amazing and the service is incredible - love the going to Davant
Dinner was great as always. Wobbly table was fixed as I lost a little of my drink in the process and server brought a back up without a question. Great service!
Not our greatest night at this restaurant - service was slow and spotty. Food was very good though.
We read so many great reviews of this restaurant we thought this would be a great place to celebrate a special evening for us. We arrived a few minutes ahead of our reservation time, we were seated in under 10 minutes or so.
The waitress was nice, the waiter's assistant too attentive filling our water every few minutes. He was probably trying to be helpful but part of a great dinner is the conversation and company. We could not carry on a conversation because if he was not filling the water (the bottle was on the table...we could have done it ourselves) he was trying to take our food away. There are usually signs when people are done eating, the plate is empty or the utensils are placed across the plate together.
We ordered drinks recommended by the waitress...the beer was good tasting however the spritz was a bit off in what I had imagined it would taste like, the waitress added a bit of simple syrup and another ingredient and it was much better.
As for the food, which was the most disappointing part. We shared a caesar's salad and also ordered a pizza d.o.c. for an appetizer. We ordered stuffing shells (tonight's special) and the rigatoni (hold the sausage, it's a lenten Friday). The salad was just ok, a lot of the lettuce was white or really yellow, the dressing saved it. The pizza was bland in flavor and in no way warrants a $14.00 price. Finally our pasta, my boyfriend's plate had 2 maybe 3 shells, again falling short of what we would consider even great Italian let alone "exceptional", "very impressed" or "perfect" which are some of the words we read in the reviews of this restaurant. My giant rigatoni were al dente to the highest level, the sauce dark and thick....but lacking the wow I was expecting.
The decor is nice but let's be honest how many of us pick a restaurant based on that alone?
Overall a bit let down, probably won't return. Hopefully everyone else is right and we just caught them at a off time or I was expecting to much.
One of our favorites and once again it was wonderful
The food had always been good here. It was pretty squeezed for a Thursday night, and it would have been nice if both of our meals would have come out at the same time.
We eat here often. The food is reliably excellent. We especially like the white anchovies and
the grilled octopus.
Lunch with my girls (Wife and 3 girls) on a day off from school. An unexpected great lunch dining experience, I had been there for dinner several times and loved it. Had the burger which is not a typical menu item for an Italian eatery, but it was for sure top 5 of all time burgers ! Flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. The Parmesan fries were also amazing, seasoned and cooked to perfection.
Amazing as always!!!
Does not honor reservations at time of reservation.
This was not my first time eating at Davanti. The food is very good so I've returned. However, it is unorganized which diminishes the dining experienced. This most recent time, I made reservations for 6 pm because I had tickets for an 8 pm show. My party of 2 did not get seated until 6:25 pm. The restaurant was clearly overbooked as at least 12 other patrons with reservations were waiting to be seated. There was no place to get a drink while waiting because other diners were eating at the bar and there was no place to comfortably stand because there is no reception area. The wait staff was pleasant but could not keep up with the number of diners. The restaurant missed an opportunity to sell more pre dinner drinks and dessert because it took so long for service. The cocktails that we had were mixed by someone who should stick to pouring wine. But as I said the food is good.
My husband & I made reservations two weeks in advance for our 16th anniversary. Reservations were for 6:30. Still standing in overcrowded doorway at 7:00. Felt like an over crowded college bar. Service was terrible.
Very crowded - trying to fit too many tables in not enough space. Detracts from the experience when everyone is sitting on top of each other.
Food was decent. Some good stuff, some not the best we had ever had. Portions very small.
Overall not great value for money - if we came back, maybe for an appetizer and glass of wine at the bar on a n off night.
We brought our 11 month old son and they were very accommodating and brought his food out right away! Great food and the staff is amazing! Love this place!!
The food is amazing!
Davanti’s menu is a treat! We enjoyed being able to share appetizers, small plates, salads and entrees. The Ricotta and honeycomb toast, pork ragout, and roasted Brussels sprouts with pancetta and onions all were delicious. Very good wine list with reasonable prices by the bottle or glass. Happy hour menu available before 6pm. We went on a week night and did not feel rushed. Friendly greeters and servers. Adjacent parking lot and location across from train station are convenient pluses. Cozy Enoteca ambiance.
We LOVE Davanti Enoteca in Western Springs! It is one of our favorite spots for a date night, and to get together with friends.
Great food. Varied menu.
Our server was great, we asked for recommendations on food and we got everything he recommended and every course was excellent. He definitely made the dinner experience much better, would go back for sure, but would only go Friday or Saturday because those are the only days he works.
Outstanding service and food; extensive wine list. Perfect for birthdays and celebrations (private room), Sunday brunch, intimate dinners.
Food was exceptional. Server was very pleasant and tried hard to please.
The food here is good, as expected from Enoteca experiences. The service was not very good at all. First we had to wait 20-minutes for our reserved table (we were accommodated with a glass of wine, which was nice for us, but not our two kids), then we waited 15-minutes for a server. The server messed up our kids order, which had to be sent back, then we waited for nearly 40-minutes to get a burger (other appetizer items came quickly), which lead us to believe that the server forgot to put in the order. Then we waited 20-minutes for ice cream for our kids. The Ragu/Polenta of the day, was like Sloppy Joes poured on an amazing Polenta, but not very good overall. Salad was good, and burger, once we finally received it was amazing!
Always good. Our server Jaime, was excellent! Dinner( short rib tortellini & Cacio e Pepe) was delicious.
We had a great evening. Jamie, our server was outstanding! Will definitely be back again soon!
Good burger and pizza
Disappointed in my waiter that night, otherwise good.
Authentic and delicious food in a casual atmosphere. Kid-friendly.
Started our meal with the cauliflower steak which was delicious. Our dinner entrees were very good! The only thing I didn’t like was that one server was working carrying out one plate at a time and we didn’t get our dinner at the same time. I had to wait 8-10 min for my husbands dish to come out before we ate, this also happened when I was there before having brunch. But overall it was a good experience I would probably go back again.
The service was wonderful. Our server was helpful and professional. Everyone was friendly and the food was delicious. The only drawback was we had to wait over 20 minutes after are reservation to be seated.
We had reservations for a birthday dinner for the night before. Our reservation was cancelled by the restaurant because it was being bought out for the night by a company. The manager called me & said he would send a gift card to cover our expenses & for the inconvenience. I never received the gift cards & no discount was given on the night i re-made the reservation for. This was disappointing...but was still a great meal & ambiance was excellent...very cozy restaurant. Our waitress was very helpful and kind.
A very comfortable place that is well managed. Great polenta, burgers, fish, salads. The servers are also very good.
The service, meal, quality of food was all excellent. The staff is always very courteous & attentive. Great New Years Eve at Divanti!
Went for a special New Year’s Eve dinner Edward totally satisfied. The food and service were both excellent.
New Years Eve. Seated on time even with the crowd.
Server explained sharing dishes and we ordered in 3 sessions. Everything was great.
We will certainly return.
