After opening the first location in 2010 in Chicago’s Little Italy neighborhood, Davanti Enoteca has expanded with restaurants in Del Mar, San Diego; Little Italy, San Diego; Western Springs, Illinois; and now the newest addition the Courtyard Marriot River North in Chicago. Davanti Enoteca, an Italian wine bar, offers shareable plates of rustic Italian cuisine from pastas, pizzas, and entrees in addition to small plate items such as vasi (mini mason jars with Tuscan toast), antipasti, salads and tableside presentations. Exposed brick and refurbished wood create the ambiance of a countryside cottage in Italy.

Service was spotty and the wrong food kept getting delivered to our table. Unfortunately the food I ordered never made it to my table....apparently was given to another.
So my dining companions had already finished their meals before a new dish was made for me.
Extremely annoying but they comp'd my entree. That was the right thing to do but it doesn't make me want to go back. The Taylor Street location is much better.

This place was such a pleasant surprise! The restaurant was attached to our hotel - Courtyard Marriot - and the menu caught my eye right away!

We had a girls night including my mom, sister, and 2 year- old daughter. The staff made us feel right at home as soon as we sat down. We absolutely loved the brick oven pizza, the butter squash ravioli, and the wine list! We shared great laughs, fun photos, and will definitely come back.

I have been a regular to Davanti Enoteca since it opened in River North and frequent it at least once every two months. The management, wait- and kitchen-staff have not only met but most often exceeded my expectations for good quality and well prepared food and service. They go the extra mile to meet my dietary meeds and most often are agreeable to the substitutions or other modifications to my entrees. The prosciutto-veal meal balls , the warm squash-farrow salad, the seared octopus and the ragu of the day are always great selections and my favorites. The special "Zuppe di Mare" which I had was wonderful and they should make it a standard menu item.

This restaurant is AMAZING and is now on my list of must visits whenever i’m in Chicago. The bottomless mimosas are great. I had the eggs benedict and it was the best I have ever had!

My go-to restaurant for very good food and service. The restaurant is not luxurious but it cuts no corners on the food it serves.

The service was very good. The food was not up to the standard of several previous visits. I wouldn't count them out (I will give them another try), but this really wasn't their best effort.

I thought the music was meant for a bar atmosphere, not an Italian restaurant. And it was playing very loud at times, so difficult to have a conversation.

This was our second time to dine at Davanti Enoteca in Chicago. Both times the food has been excellent! We enjoyed the tomatoe and mozzerella salad with pesto, the meatballs, and the polenta with ragu. We enjoyed it all but the last item was absolutely fabulous. We will definitely be back.

I was so disappointed in our experience. First the server sent the mains while we were still on our apps. Then the mains come out, and the "fresh" pasta that was promised was fresh all right... fresh out of a box! And when I asked him about it, he lied right to my face and told me it was fresh. And let's talk about the food: bland, underwhelming and small portions for the price. Do yourself a favor and do the wait at Quartino's rather than go here. There's a reason there's no wait!

Disappointing visit. One member of our party ordered the roast chicken. When server brought food the chicken was raw inside. Sent it back to kitchen. The rest of us finished our meals before they brought the chicken back. When returned it was charred and dried out. Waiter said would take off bill. Was on the bill and that had to be sent back for correction. It was difficult to get our waiter's attention when we needed him.

The service was a little slow and it even was not a busy night. Enjoyed the food and a good bottle of wine. It is a convenient location close to the main shopping and downtown.

We waited for almost a half hour to be seated. And it just went downhill from there. We were at the restaurant for over two hours before we were served any of the food we ordered. One person in our group left. And one person in our group never got her meal. The wait staff was fine and apologetic. But I would not recommend eating here.

Service was absolutely horrible. There were 3 of us and all of us got our meals at separate times which was awkward as we all ate by ourselves. The server also didn't stop by often to ask if we needed anything.

Love the ambience here. Went with 4 old college friends. The focaccia was so good I could have had one for dinner with salad. Brussels were perfect and vino yummy. Highly recommend

This is one of my favorite Italian places in town! The Focaccia and octopus are absolutely amazing. Additionally, they have a pork dish with polenta on their specials menu that rotates through that is also wonderful. Staff is also very nice - however, usually on a Saturday night it is a bit crowded so dinner might take a bit longer as the staff seems a bit short handed. But other than that no complaints! Wonderful food and great ambiance.
