Davanti Enoteca - Little Italy
Book your next event with us
6 of us seated on the back patio in a cute alcove. The waitress was great... very funny and friendly. The ricotta honey bread was out of this world. We had a great time. Thanks!
Food and drinks were great! Service was a little slow at times but the place was packed, so understandable. Food was made fresh, so meals came out at different times but we were told this in advance so we ordered food for the table! Great time overall!
Enjoyed our dinner! Our server Dustin was great!
Supburb as usual
One of my favorite places to eat and be in Little Italy.
It was fun.
Poor waitstaff- awkward seating on a table bigger than kitchen island- literally waited over 15 min for a bill after askin
Lovely delicious Italian food. Generous portions, and a lovely outdoor courtyard. Good for families or a romantic evening out.
Glad you enjoyed. We hope to see you soon.
Our food was delicious. Our service was terrible. It took her 35 minutes to take our drink order and about an hour for our food order (which we had to ask a busser to grab our waitress to take our order). Also, everyone got their entree except one of our friends, whose meal was revived 20 minutes after everyone at the table had finished eating.
The food here is seriously delicious. I went with a party of 5 on New Years Eve and service was outstanding. The two standout dishes we had were the Davanti burger and the linguine with shrimp and seafood. The only complaint I have is that there was a lot of sand in the clams that were in the linguine. Everything else was delicious but man these two dishes were fantastic.
We never actually ate here. Sat at our table for 20 minutes without any acknowledgment from our server so we left. Went to Nonna down the street and had a fantastic meal with awesome service. Go there instead.
Alejandra was a warm and helpful server. Our hosts were just as gracious
Waiter didnt know menu. Fish overcooked and drowning in oil sauce. Asparagus were undercooked to raw and I love al Dente veggies. Cannoli’s were terrible as shells had a burnt taste. Would think if half of a split item was on table a waiter might ask if everything ok. Pasta with seafood was good but very salty. Salads very large and fresh. I see why people like it as large quantities and not expensive, but you get what you pay for
Great service good food. Will definitely come back
Didn’t seem very authentic, more fast Italian food.
Absolutely horrendous service. Right from the beginning it was bad. Took forever to even have a waiter come to our table initially. Was very "generic" and didn't welcome us to the restaurant, or ask how we were, give any information on the menu, etc. The waiter NEVER once checked in with us or asked if we needed anything, how everything was, or offer refills of anything. Even voiced our displeasure with what seemed to be the manager who was at the entrance to the restaurant being very social with all of the "passer bys". We told him the service was very bad and he barely said he was sorry or anything. Even after we voiced our displeasure he never came back to ask if it was better, or if everything was ok, or if we needed anything. Overall this was some of the worst service we have ever had at ANY restaurant ( and we go out alot). Food was just average....forgot the meatball that I ordered and then too about 15 mins before finally bringing it and that was when I was already pretty much done with my dinner. Asked for a soda refill and it took about 15-20 minutes as well. If I could give a zero star I would. Was very disappointed because this was suppose to be a nice dinner celebration for my wife's birthday and it turned out to be a joke and a huge downer for her birthday!
Food was excellent and very large portions. Great service and why this restaurant is still in business!
This Italian restaurant was absolutely amazing! The service was excellent, the food was so so delicious and the environment was very relaxing and welcoming! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for amazing Italian in San Diego!
Great place and nice restaurant design. I keep coming back for the delicious food! I am constantly impressed with the updates all of Little Italy has undergone. Very nice!
The food was great. Our server Bryan was so nice and personable. We had a great dinner.
The ambiance was great and the back patio was lovely. We had great service and the food was delicious
The initial interaction with the maitre d's started off great, but went a bit sideways when I declined a high table. Ultimately, I was seated at a standard table. I stared with the toasted bread (rather than warmed). It had no flavor and the addition of the olive oil didn't help. Whatever olive oil they're using is not meant to paired with bread - it absolutely did not work. I then had the hen of the woods (mushrooms), which were cold, hard, and tasteless with some vague white sauce. If there were capers and shallots, I didn't see or taste any. I took two bites and pushed the plate aside. The cacio e pepe was next and while it wasn't offensive, it was sort of meh. The good news is that it came to the table piping hot (as it should be), but even with the cheese, there wasn't much of a flavor punch or the sublime bliss expected with the melding of cheese, pasta, and pepper. I finished with the goat cheesecake, which was good. Service by Joanna was excellent! She was quite wonderful (as were the bus persons). When I see a menu displayed and propped up outside and near the entrance to a restaurant, I think "tourist place." I should have known better.
Great appetizers!! Very nice outdoor patio, decorated for Christmas
For a busy holiday Friday night, when this area gets really busy, our reservation was honored on time and the food and service was on point. Love this place!
Focaccia bread with cheese and honey ALWAYS a crowd pleaser and was awesome. Staff and service, great! Main courses I have now been disappointed with twice in a row - not the flavors one would expect.
Great date spot. Half of wine bottles on Tuesdays!
I have always been pleased with the staff and food here. My favorite Italian themed restaurant in Little Italy. I brought 4 of my customers to dinner there this week and they were very impressed. Food comes out hot, perfect portions and the presentation always nice.
Thanks for making their evening memorable.
Most everything was great - food and service - except for your wine prices. We were suprised that you did not offer a moderate priced wine, starting prices at $60 a bottle is a little steep. We did bring our own wine and decided to open our wine. Your corkage charge of $25 is twice what more restaurants charge. Again we felt that was a little high. Unfortunately, because of the high wine prices, I do not know whether we will be back.
Thanksgiving at Davanti Enoteca was, in a word, superb. I have a "mixed" family - half are vegetarian and half are not. Therefore, the fact that Davanti Enoteca offered both its regular Italian menu and an option for a full, traditional Thanksgiving dinner was what drew me to this restaurant. What will bring me back was the excellence of the food, service, and ambience. I expected the turkey and sides to be rather mediocre and half-hearted, but those who ate it were more than satisfied. The Italian dishes were delicious, beautifully prepared and presented. The service was just right - friendly and professional. We will definitely return to Davanti Enoteca next Thanksgiving, as well as any time we want a lovely Italian dining experience.
I've never had a bad meal at Davanti Enoteca. I tend to get in a rut of ordering the same thing at restaurants, but when I come here, and I order something new each time. I'm never disappointed! Great food, atmosphere, and excellent service.
Never disappointed at Davanti Enoteca. the Focaccia is simply the best to be found anywhere!
Appetizers were delicious. Their foccacia with honey was amazing! Not the biggest selection of pasta dishes so that was the only con for me.
I have been to Davanti Enoteca several times, but this time took out of town guests. They were delighted to have such authentic and delicious food. Everything was easy thanks to our server, and we had a wonderful, leisurely meal that everybody thoroughly enjoyed. Service is timely but not intrusive. This has been consistent at every visit I've had there. Highly recommended.
Incredible food and great service!!
Service was a little slow, but it seemed they were a short staffed
Great atmosphere, ambience, pretty decor and unique menu w delicious options. The cow’s milk cheese honeycomb flat bread and the truffle eggs w brioche and asparagus were awesome starters. The spaghetti and stuffed rigatoni were great. They had a yummy Zinfandel and free dessert for my birthday.
Great experience! Food was yummy! Loved the back patio! Sit there if u can.
The only downfall is the Bathrooms were not very clean!
If you know what to order this is a Little Italy gem. However, if you're vegetarian, look elsewhere.
In the past, we've ordered and LOVED the pork shoulder ragu, as well as charcuterie boards and warmed olives. These are the items that brought us back. This time, though, we brought along a vegetarian friend. The Hen in the Woods mushroom was amazing, but the cheese pizza left much to be desired (We ordered these as there were not many items to choose from). We had a three cheese stuffed crust appetizer which was tasty, but not as pleasing as the charcuterie boards, and was so sweet with the provided honey it could have been dessert.
The service is typically fun and friendly - this time no exception. We will continue to eat here, just not with our vegetarian family and friends...
They’re always great! It’s the consistency that makes them a continued priceless experience.
