Chicken koobideh was tough, dry and over cooked. So was chicken barg. Food used to be much better.
Love the food, service, and sitting on their patio!
Amazing food and amazing people!! Love darya
The portions have gotten smaller especially the eggplant stew is very small. We’ve been going to this restaurant since it opened..
I always liked darya resturant and when ever I come I like it more .
I made a reservation for a party of 8 for my birthday for the lunch hour. Little did we know that despite having made reservations, two large parties of approximately 15-20 people showed up without a reservation which set back everyone else. Our table was not ready for us (I made the reservation days ago?!) Half of my party had to leave to get back to the office because an hour and a half later we still did not have our meals, so we requested that the parties that had to leave have their lunch boxed up so we can take it back to the office for them. I also mentioned to the hostess that it was my birthday, but they did not do or say anything for the occasion.
I understand unforeseen circumstances occur--that being said--the tables should have been managed more efficiently and appropriately. I was also really disappointed that two hours later we had to rush out of there, nothing on our meal was comped or discounted for the extremely delayed service and no one mentioned my birthday or sent us off with something as a comp for the disappointing experience.
Lamest Birthday Experience
Excellent Persian cuisine, with both authentic Persian dishes as well as "American" fare. Good wine list, including excellent Shiraz.
Its been a few years since last visit. Food was very good. Service was fine but they had problems with their system that caused the payment process to take forever. Otherwise no complaints. Traditional Persian food was very good
We were seated promptly. The waiter serving our table was busy with a table nearby, catering to them instead of the 2 women so after about 10 minutes, the hostess came over and we told her nobody had acknowledged we were there so she took our drink order. A few minutes later water was brought and basket with bread. It was at least 20 minutes longer we waited and were ignored by the waiter. We are not Persian, my friend is handicapped and walks with a cane. When he took our order, he was abrupt and we did not see him again until the check was brought. He gazed at it to see how much tip we left. Americans who do not look Middle Eastern may have trouble getting served by that waiter.
Great food, great selection, awesome service, nicely executed
The shish kabob was superb as was the chicken. We highly recommend Darya. It is the best Persian restaurant in Southern California. Our waiter, Pooya, is the best waiter. He is friendly and attentive. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant.
the Young Persian lady serve was extremely helpful, met all our needs in the timely manner, she made the guest of honor my mother’s 80th birthday feel so comfortable and loved... we all thank you🙏.....
good food and service
nice wine selection and full bar
seating inside or out with heat lamps
clean and inviting
This was a birthday for my wife joined by our family --11 in all. The setting is beautiful, the food and service superb.
Our family loves Persian food. My favorite is the Bahrani to start with as an appetizer. Lamb kabob is my daughter’s go to plate. Good portions.
Delicious food all around, no wait with RSVP. Great service, food comes out fast. Its a good value for the meal. Savory food. Beautiful venue, very authentic.
If you are looking for a great Persian food and exceptional ambiance this is the place to go!!
Our server was very nice and made sure everyone is happy with their orders meanwhile didn’t give us the feeling that we are under constant surveillance.
There and they informed me that because of the holiday they would not be serving the lunch menu. I only went to the restaurant to eat lunch and as a result I was charged dinner prices ...totally unfair to me as a customer.
We brought friends here that have never had Persian food before. They loved it - it was kinda pricey but overall great flavor and it was clearly fresh.
The food is delicious, the service excellent, beautiful restaurant! One of our very favorites.
The parking and physical location of this upscale restaurant are excellent. We came here after a show at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, which was very convenient. We were taken to a table and I was shown a chair with a dirty cushion (I asked for a replacement and got one). The waiter was pleasant but somewhat aloof. The food itself was okay, not dazzling, but I have actually had better Persian cuisine at other restaurants in the area. The dessert tray came around and we chose an item, ordered it, and the waiter came back saying it was not available (so why was it on the dessert tray?).
When I used my gift certificate to pay, they added a 20% of tip without letting me know first.
Restaurant is worn. Food not well prepared or presented. Waiter was not co-operative and pushy. The service was slow. The dessert was awful. The dessert tray was worn and unappealing. Never again.
This Resturant offers Persion food, which is very difficult to make,
The food is always satisfying, the service is amazing!!!
I live in boston Mass, sometimes I travel to California just to try the food😄
When you go to Drya ones you cannot stop goin👍
This's the best persion Resturant in orang county!!
I like to thank the owner and the managers for great job👍
Always food is excellent, the rice the kabob. The only thing was the broiled tomato to put over the rice. They have change the quality of the tomato, it was the italian tomato really broiled (completly black skin) to my surprise the tomato was hard to cut. Not a ripe tomato.
I suggest they pay more attention to the tomato.
Love the restaurant!
Food was delicious. Service outstanding. As always.
We love dining at Darya when we’re in town. This time the food wasn’t great. I ordered my shish kebab med-rare but it looked well done (no pink center) when I ate my first piece, the meat did not taste fresh, it was definitely meat old. I was a bit dissatisfied.
Food fantastic! Live music while sitting outdoors was very nice but wish it could have been just a bit quieter. It was hard to hear conversation.
Excellent food as always. We had two people that have never been to Darya! They will definitely be back soon.
We love Darya! The food is most delicious, and the service most excellent.
Great experience and the food was great!
Darya, as usual, exceeded expectations. As a long time customer, 28 years, I'm always pleased by the food, ambiance and staff at Darya.
Darya is an outstanding Persian cuisine restaurant. The food and wait service are consistantly excellent.
Always a great dining experience at Darya. One of our favorite places for many, many years. Food and service always consistent and delicious. Highly recommend the Chicken Barg. Yum!!
Very good food. A delight to find a restaurant that is away from the run of the mill in food choices. Also a good wine list. A quiet and relaxing dining experience. Highly recommended.
All around amazing experience !!!
Excellent food... very wonderful service!
Always excellent. Love the tadig and kabobs. Delicious
This used to be one of our favorite restaurants. We still ordered our favorite Borani but other than that, the service was not very friendly and food ok. Our waiter was so serious. He was much more attentive to the larger party for obvious reasons. We were seated next to this large party with kids so it was a bit noisy and distracting with the kids running around.
The Borani was very good. Our lamb shish kebab was just ok. My mom had to ask for a sharp knife since the butter knife didn't cut it easily. Not worth the price. The coffee was weak.
The other good thing was that it wasn't crowded on a Sat. night.
