Why go into the quarter when you can have a great meal uptown? Food was fresh, flavorful, and unique. Plenty of street parking. Quiet, safe part of uptown. Good variety of food.

We are glad we tried this restaurant. Larry was a great waiter, they were busy so there were some long waits between him stopping by. We were seated in the front area of the restaurant and that ambiance seemed the most sterile; would like to have seen the other rooms. Would request a different table if we go back. I had the vegetarian platter and it was delicious but a bit pricy for what was on it.

Service was slow with not all table filled, and the steak was very overdone, but staff was friendly, and the food was excellent and the outdoor courtyard atmosphere was quite cozy and comfortable.

Dante's Kitchen has been on my list for years, and we finally had the chance to try it out for our 10 year anniversary. The food was amazing and a really cool atmosphere. I ordered the Chicken Under A Brick - it lived up to it's reputation. We will be back!

We arrived after the Saints game and were seated promptly. All was good except the Duck entree was very fatty and chewy. I was not able to eat about 1/3 of the duck. The sides were quite tasty.

Great food in a casual atmosphere, and reasonably priced, too. The chicken under a brick is unreal.

Too long a wait after having arrived with a reservation.
Nowhere to stand as you wait. The greeter suggested standing outside, although it was near freezing that night.

Highlights included the bone marrow with escargot, the seared duck breast, and side dish of ratatouille. The service was friendly and drinks were fantastic.

Only drawback I can see are that the tables are close together - so you do know the next tables conversations (including fights by nearby couples!).

Overall recommend highly for a great meal.

I sent folks (4) for a business meal (Candidate Interview). They all enjoyed their meals, desserts, the service, and the atmosphere very much. A few from the area had never been before and both noted that they will make sure that Dante's Kitchen is on their list to return to.

Dante's was very good. Good cocktails, and reasonably priced wine list. Escargot with bone marrow was very good as is the seafood hot pot. Very tasty redfish and beef cheeks. A great place for vegetables as well.

This is a more casual neighborhood restaurant with great food. The "hot pot" of seafood was quite good. Full bar and a decent wine list.

We love Dantes kitchen. They have the best seasonal vegetarian plate. The chicken under a brick is fantastic as well. We shared with them that we had just gotten married and they brought out champagne toasters. It was great.

Used to adore this place. Would always recommend to visitors out of all the options available in the city. This establishment is now going through the motions without the courtesy of at least pretending to care. There are a million excuses to be made as to why one or even two of the staff might have been having a bad night-get it. The entire staff acted as if it was pure torment to be forced to interact with us. Our reservations were for 8:30 on Saturday. We may have been a ten minutes late but we were not keeping a table from being seated. We were seated in the bar, next to the ingress/egress to the kitchen. Mind you 8:45 at latest. Thankfully we were in the bar because bartender was most professional of the lot. Ordering rushed, items forgotten, including an entree, had to ask to order wine after list picked up immediately after ordering. Food was lackluster versions of same standards. I felt uncomfortable enough when the chairs started being placed on tabletops to tell bf (whose birthday it was and who wanted to 'dine' here again) we were leaving, sorry but I didn't feel like putting this group out any further than we had already. He was upset but when I clued him into the drama occurring among the owners and staff, it was just bizarre, he agreed. Just checked my receipt--thought by way we were treated that it was past midnight. Nope. 9:59:27. Saturday night in the big city. Wow. Never again.

The only disappointment was that the "brisket was a little tougher and dryer than would have been expected". (This from a person who loves brisket.)

Enjoyed the experience of this house turned dining establishment. Off the beaten path, but well worth seeking out. COOLinary menu had good selections for everyone in our group with full portions. Interesting to have so many different servers to be involved with our table. It seemed like everyone working that night somehow was involved with us. Mixologist making the drinks in the bar right off of the side dining room was fun to watch. Spoon bread to start the evening was unexpected and a delight. Overall great food and drinks. Will definitely return.

Really nice place. Was impressed with my dish of gulf fish with lump crab. The herb combo over the fish was delicious and subtle. Had a reasonably priced wine list but a bit disappointed in wine knowledge of staff. Portions were good and happy to say the salt did not overwhelm any dish (find this is a common problem in NOLA). I will definitely go back and enjoy more!
