Excellent Salmon from Denmark! Loved the big pour of wine and the $2.00 appetizers at the bar. You can’t have a better view of Boston than from Cambridge. Can’t wait for the outdoor patio to open!
Great View and good food. Attentive staff. Enjoyed when we visited Cambridge
Food is simply delicious. We went for family Easter lunch and enjoyed the Easter menu. We ordered two appetizer size of pastas, both of them beyond expectations. The lamb was baked to perfection with the fat melt in the mouth.
Meal was excellent. Food was creative and the blending of different ingredients and tastes worked well. Service was not up to snuff. The waiter was preoccupied with friends who were dining and did not pay attention to our table. He did not ask if we would like a second drink and we had to hail him for coffee to finish the meal. Very satisfied with the food and the overall surroundings. We were staying at the hotel and it was convenient. We would definitely eat there again but, I would hope the service is more attentive next time.
The arancini was delicious and the salmon was perfectly cooked.
What was not good was that when we ordered "gnocci" we were served pasta, and the "lemon risotto" was nicely flavored white rice. Each one tasted good enough, but don't say gnocci or risotto if it is not.
A very nice Italian meal with a great view.
We have gone to Dante many times and are always satisfied.
Great views of Boston. Food and service is top notch. Love the $2 appetizer selection before 6pm. Thank You.
Ridiculously overpriced. $28 for Spaghetti Carbonara, mid size portion. What a joke
I liked the Calamari starter though. Good value there. Strange
Outstanding food. Great service. Incredible dinner!
The kitchen "forgot" about us halfway through Christmas Eve Dinner. We came to Dante specifically for "The Feast of the Seven Fishes." After waiting for 35 minutes between courses, my guest needed to leave. He is a physician on call snd needed to check the ER he covers. I explained to the Captain, paid & tipped 18% and asked to have out desserts to go. Then the waited tried to force to stay to explain to someone why he (the waiter) was not at fault. When I repeated that both the captain & the waiter agreed to have our desserts to go, I was called "rude and impatient." We left - over $200 poorer - no dessert, no entree, no parking validation (the dowdy cashier refused to validate our parking ticket). Merry Effing Christmas. .
The waiter was alternately unaware of us and unhelpful. Our meatball appetizer was served cold. I'm pretty sure that the case of tummy flu I experienced in the middle of the night was the result of undercooked chicken. Great location, but the current operation is underachieving.
Our waiter was outstanding. The music fit the atmosphere. Food was perfect.
Special birthday celebration for my son's 20th! Our waiter was professional and friendly. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Hotel is a personal favorite, very nice to have a signature restaurant to dine. Would recommend for great bar scene or special gathering!
Amazing server from brazil
Amazing views and amazing service! Ask for Rashid! He was absolutely accommodating and made us feel welcome!
We had a great time at Dante. It was our first time back there in almost 10 years. The food was just as good as the first time we visited. I'd definitely go back and highly recommend Dante.
We were married at the Royal Sonesta and go back each year for our anniversary dinner. We had a lovely meal with very good service. There was a very large group dining at the hotel which made for a crowded and noisy room that night. I assume it also prevented us from getting a nice table with a view. -- we were in the corner to accommodate the large group. Dante is a very nice restaurant with friendly staff, and it is a favorite tradition for us to go there.
Our waiter was inattentive and seemed slow to understand questions. He disappeared for most of the evening and forgot to bring part of our order. Fortunately we were able to flag another waiter who helped us.
Dining with a view of the Charles River, sitting on the terrace was fabulous.
The wait staff was excellent, discrete & very accommodating
All the dishes met or exceeded our expectations.
Went to test it out to hold an event there. Food was awful. Calamari was so lemony you were not sure what you were eating. Meatballs ok. 2 got hanger steak so salty you could not eat it. One got char he said worse he ever had. I got chicken melinase chicken ok toppings horrible. We split the sides all bad. Snap peas, eggplant and broccoli.
Staff was ok at best and not one person ever asked how our food was.
Needless to say I will not be going back.
Very disappointed that the menu on OpenTable was not remotely similar to the dinner menu available. However the food we had was good. The restaurant was nearly empty but hostess decided to sit a large and loud group next to our table, which was not good for ambiance or for a romantic dinner.
The staff was very accommodating. We wanted to be seated at a quiet table. Food was good but a bit pricey. We liked the half order options.
Decent food. Decent service. Great river view.
The staff were lovely here, all very friendly and hospitable. We had a table right by the edge as we had requested which was lovely although all the tables were nice, we enjoyed a nice view of the waterfront at night. It was the perfect ambience. Really nice outdoor patio. The food was delicious and not overly expensive. Everyone who served us was so pleasant and this made the whole evening even better. I cannot fault this restaurant, I would return and definitely recommend to family , friends and colleagues. Fantastic dining experience in Cambridge, Boston.
Food and service were both good. Some food prices were fair, others were a bit high for the serving size.
Food was great. I had the pork rib appetizer as my entree. It was a small portion but really delicious.
I don't usually write bad reviews but there is no way this is a 4.1 Zagat's restaurant. We had no server so the woman who seated us took the order. Had to ask for bread. Appetizers (3) Were not only unremarkable, two were just bad. We ordered one dish each. My ravioli - $34 - was undercooked & tasteless. We all acknowledged it was a mistake after we asked politely after an hour where our food was. Did not even offer us anything to eat or drink on the house for our inconvenience. I was actually upset about the whole experience. Heed the bad reviews & stay away.
I was disappointed upon returning to Dante last week. The server was a very sweet person, but despite numerous people coming to take orders and duplicate the inquiries of other servers, it took 30 minutes to get our cocktails and quite a long time to be served dinner. The food was so/so - not particularly well seasoned. The Bolognese sauce was uninspired. Usually there is more than one type of meat included but this one didn't taste like it. The peach cake seemed to missing its peaches. Not a great experience overall and I've always liked this restaurant.
We didn't love it. Food wasn't great. Service not very attentive. The waiter took our glasses away mid meal and didn't ask if we'd like another
I was disappointed because when I made the reservation I was hoping to be seated in the patio but instead we were seated inside because of a 'private party' outside. I wish I knew about this because I would have cancelled or changed my reservation. The food is ok and expensive.
Took 40 minutes for someone to come over with water and silverware. After I complained that no one had to greeted us - the host came over and took our order for wine/app. We still never got the normal bread plate and it took another 20 minutes for the wine bottle to arrive. No waiter/waitress ever approached us for the 2 hours we were there. Worst dining experience I've ever received in Boston. I've worked in food service and this was despicable service
Service was not great. Our main course arrived within minutes of the appetizers and made the business discussion a bit awkward.
Great spot! Gluten free options. Great quality food.
My roast chicken "under a brick" (which should mean moist) was very dry, overcooked, and the portion was small. It was really bad.
My friends who had pasta were happy with their choices.
They were a bit understaffed for a day that they have a lot of graduation parties but everything was good! The food was amazing!!!! And since we weren't in a hurry, we didn't care much about the server not coming to the table too often, was just enough for us.
Extremely slow service
Food was good as usual, but dinner was rushed and the service was horrible.
Great table on the outside deck. Shared appetizers are really good. Arctic Char was delicious. Service was OK but it was a busy night.
Was excited to try this place based on reviews. Service was very inexperienced and disorganized. We had 4 different people coming to our table. Food was average. Sone of the appetizers were good but the carbonara was terrible and desert was nothing exiting. It's inside the royal sonesta so average over priced hotel food. It does look to have a nice patio when the weather is nice.
