The waiter was awesome and everything he recommended was great!!.. I plan on coming back to try other items on the menu...
Our server was clearly new, he took 25 mins to take our order. Then somehow our order got mixed up so we sat there waiting for another 45 mins just to get cold food. Medium well is apparently a lump of coal while my medium was dry still and cold. Fries was over cooked. As for the server, he reaches over my friends to refill drinks but his towel touches all over my food. This will be my first and last visit to this restaurant.
The service was awesome and the food was delicious.
I hadn't been here in a few years, but remembered it as an above average place. This experience was vastly different. We had lunch reservations but quickly realized it wasn't necessary. The place was half empty at 12:45 on a Thursday, and now we know why. We immediately noticed how run down the interior was. Two of us ordered phillys and the other - a chicken avocado sandwich. My friend's philly came out without his fries and my up-sold mushrooms were put on his plate (which I wouldn't have agreed to if the server had told me they were not actually going to be "in" the sandwich). My Philly came out with my sauteed spinach, but my mushrooms were on his plate. The au jus we were up-sold on did not come out either. We explained the mistakes to the manager-like person who delivered the food (instead of our server) and he set out to bring the fries. I dumped the whole sauteed mushrooms (which I assumed would be sliced and grilled mushrooms in my philly) on my plate as my annoyance with this place grew quickly. The au jus came out later after we had eaten a good bit of our sandwiches. It was about this time that our other friend exclaimed "wow. there's no avocado in this chicken avocado sandwich". He decided not to mention it as we were well past caring at this point. We never saw our server again until she refilled our long-since-empty tea glasses at the END of the meal. Then we were told the CC machine was down and "would you be able to pay cash?" Very odd. We said no - and then the card was run within only a minute after that. Hmmmm. The CC system sure did start working quickly after we declined the request to pay cash. I seldom ever write reviews - particularly negative ones, but this experience was an absolute disgrace.
Great food and amazing service!
Went to Dantanna's for dinner with girlfriends. The drinks were good, and appetizers were decent - not horrible, but nothing to write home about. We all ordered salads and as one of my friend's put it, we were extremely underwhelmed. First, we all had minor changes to the way our salads traditionally come - they got all three orders wrong. I'm not sure if it was a kitchen error or the way the server put it in. But then it literally looked like they took a bag of iceberg lettuce, added a few pieces of lobster and threw some onions on top. No taste and not visually appealing. I will say the manager (who was very friendly and very nice) tried to make it up to us by giving us each a free dessert. The dessert was very good; best part of the meal. Overall I would say some things were good, some very bad and so overall it was just ok.
Food was excellent - great flavor. The service was good too.
Probably not their best performance for food. Service was pretty good.
Half the stuff on the menu was not available and they were understaffed
Perfect setting for a business meal!
Food was delicious, and our waitress Alyssa was very nice and did an excellent job making sure we had everything we needed with our meal.
Great food cool atmosphere. Steak is amazing , baked potato very good. The price is high but worth it . Good date spot .
Had an amazing time and our waitress was awesome! Product knowledge and experience made for a great Valentine’s Date.
This restaurant has great food! Our server was not good! I would expect more from a place like this. It looks a little run down, not what it used to be!
We sat at the bar for a quick lunch, and the service was excellent! The restaurant was surprisingly quiet and not busy for a Friday lunch, but it was very much welcomed for me and my friend to catch up. The food was excellent.
Great atmosphere awesome location and great food and drinks
Very friendly crowd which was nice as an out of town guest
The food and service were excellent!
It was great, food was delicious and I couldn’t even smell the cigar lounge smoke! Great experience... we will be back for sure the next time we’re in Atlanta!
My husband and I made different entree selections and tasted each other’s food. Both were excellent. I had fried jumbo shrimp which was wonderful. It wasn’t greasy and had a very light batter. My husband had salmon. The entrees come with two large sides...there was enough food for an army. Our server was delightful and so was the manager.
Good foo. Long wait times for a restaurant that had very few people eating
Worst experience at Dantanna’s ever. Restaurant was understaffed as employees had called out. Took a while for our server to take our drink and food order, then at least 15 min to get the drinks. All we ordered to drink was water. When the food finally came it wasn’t cooked correctly. My ribeye was basically a solid piece of fat. Definitely won’t be back.
Excellent. Love this place if you want a romantic dinner with the one you love, or if you want to hang out with your friends and watch the game.
Day After Christmas
Overall good experience.
I expect that if I pay $40+ dollars for my entree alone for the food to be a descent quality and have flavor. The entree I ordered, which is also supposed to be one of their signature dishes was lacking all of that. I was very upset about the quality. The waitress we had was not bad but may have had more tables than she could handle and did not check on us as consistently as I would have liked. The bathroom was so dirty that I couldn’t even stomach eating any more of my food after I finished utilizing it. I won’t be back here for the reasons I have just listed.
I was disappointed in the quality and size of the food(crabcakes) for the price!!!! Loved the atmosphere although the waitstaff uniform could stand a serious overhaul!
Excellent food. Crab claw appetizer was great. Not many to an order for the price though. Steaks were good and tender.
Horrible food, service and price
We have been watching Atlanta eats, and saw Dantanna's showcased. A cousin and his wife flew in to spend Thanksgiving with her mom and I picked Dantanna's as a hallway point to meet. The food was absolutely great. Every ones meal was good. Salmon, fried shrimp, crapcakes and grouper were exceptional. We stayed 1 and 1/2 hours , we where there early and it was not crowded, and our server and the manager where both polite and professional. I have eaten at a lot of nice restaurants, and I would highly recommend this one. Lenox mall Dantanna's
Server had too many tables and bar was backed up. Steak was mediocre.
We went to Dantannas for quiet birthday gathering. The food and wait staff were top notch. We had a wonderful time.
Good food. Ok service
Food was solid but service was average to scarce. I would say "meh" in a nutshell.
Thought this was an upscale place. It's more of a sports bar than a fine dining place. Any place with TV's on the wall is a sports bar. Facility is a little tired. Time for a face lift. We had appetizers and they were good. I would try it again with friends for a casual night.
Our first visit. We had pork rib chop and springer chicken. Both dishes were great. Service was a little slow even though restaurant was not crowded. Drinks were on the weak side. No before picture - but including after photo.
I should have turned around and walked out the door. When the hostess seems to forget that her job is to be friendly and greet the customer, that is a bad sign. It was a sign that reflected the continuation of service throughout my dinner. While my food was better than expected, the service was poor, the restaurant dirty (clean the food off the menus, please) and the atmosphere tired. It reminded me of an old Bennigan's, not a restaurant in the heart of ritzy Buckhead.
New Brunch menu rediculously reduced. Few choices and nothing like previous menu of a week ago (and posted on website yesterday).
Service was good but food was not.
Will not recommend to anyone.
It was our first visit and it was fabulous! We were looked GM for great dining and later a cigar bar. To our surprise, they were both under the same roof. The only disappointments: way too crowded and noisy. I kept getting bumped by the hustling servers and the steaks were a disappointment. They were just okay. Everything else was fabulous!
Food was not very good. Wife's fish was over salted. My steak was nothing special. Surprised because it is known as a steak restaurant. I don't know how they can survive in Buckhead. Not a lot of appeal.
