Dantanna's Surf and Turf Ratings and Reviews
I can see why it as empty at lunch in one of the busiest parts of town.
I eat 100+ business lunches a year and this was dreadful. Understaffed, multiple undercooked dishes, the server did not seem to care as she was clearly not supported by management or staff, and the "lunch" took almost an hour and a half with us rushing to pay the bill.
When a 250lb man barely touches his half ruben and half lobster salad, that deserves a inquiry. After no inquiry at the 70 minutes mark, the server was flagged down we were told we would receive a visit from management (at at this point I really didn't blame the server, it was the kitchen that was failing).
Management either did not get the message or didn't care.
There are 200 places to eat lunch within 3 miles of here. This one is off the list for even basic consideration.
My daughter and I came for an early Saturday dinner while near Lenox malls. My first impression was not a good one when we arrived as it was dark, VERY humid and loud. After sitting down to review the menu and seeing a waitress sneezed in his hands and then continued to work, we decided it wasn't a place where we wanted to dine and left.
Dantanna's has always, and will continue to be one of my "go to" spots. The food is consistently great, while the atmosphere remains conducive to both relaxed dining, as well as game/sporting event watching. At Dantanna's, you will always get your money's worth.
So this is my third visit to the restaurant and each time it has gotten progressively worse.
My husband and I are frequent diners of various restaurants in the metro. The restaurants we visit vary in location, cost, cuisine etc. Our trip to Dantannas was due to the great chard okra. We ordered the Dantanna’s Cioppino -/two people
Maine lobster, Alaskan king crab, shrimp, mussels & fresh fish poached with
white wine, truffle infusion, garlic & fresh tomatoes; served with linguine &
What received was 1/2 maine lobster, 2 king crab legs, 0 shrimp, 5 mussels and lots of some type of terrible tasting fish. When our server had the manager come over to the table we got no real apology and was told, "I'll get you a few shrimp" 15 minutes later out comes a plate with 6 shrimps.
Not likely to return seems the restaurant isn't very concerned with customer care and in fact there is a different clientele in the restaurant than in past years. Maybe it's just time to scratch this one off our list of places to dine.
Beyond excellent service. Also the manager came over since we were with our son celebrating his graduation and offered the free entree that we didn't know about for grads. That was very nice of him and much appreciated. One small thing - the broccoli was cold. But the food was very good. We would return for sure.
Despite some reviews that don't like smoking, we tried this place. And we brought some cigars with us. The smoking is outside, on the patio. We didn't notice any smoke, due to the outside venue. The food and service was great. Many others were enjoying cigars outside, and having adult beverages, and enjoying the game. Well, someone brought a troop of children to enjoy a sports bar, with smoking on the patio. Some of the children thought it was funny to mention how smoking was bad. But then I thought it was funny that an adult said, "Let's take these kids to a smoking sports bar for brunch." This is not Dantanna's fault, but some people are just not aware of their surroundings. It's almost like going to another country and being upset that no one speaks English. Great place for adults, that like good food. No smoking inside, just on the patio. And if you hate smoking, go to one of the other Dantanna's, or one of the 100's of establishments within 1 mile of Lenox Mall. Enjoy.
Amazing! Mussels were maybe the best I have had. Wife had cioppino and could have fed us both and was incredible. Krispy Kreme bread pudding was best desert I have had in recent memory. Service was top notch. Guy was one step ahead of us. Overall top 3 restaurants I have ever eaten at.
Food and drinks were okay at best. Service was fair at best. Attention to detail was poor. Parking was confusing and annoying. I was extremely disappointed with my experience. Manager did his best to rectify the service failures. The atmosphere was nice, however I will not return.
