The lobster casserole with bacon and parmesan sauce was excellent. I also enjoyed the roasted vegetables and brown rice. Very friendly, proficient server.
Great menu options, atmosphere and Dustin the waiter was excellent.
We always enjoy our meals at the Dan'l Webster Inn. The Inn is one of our favorite places for a date night as the booths in the Tavern make conversation easy and private. The food was outstanding. My husband had the prime rib--tender and delicious. I had the crispy grilled salmon with basmati rice--also delicious. Dustin, our server was attentive to our needs. We'll be back.
Celebrated my Mom’s birthday. This is her favorite restaurant and I am glad we shared this special occasion with her at such a lovely place!
Had asked to be seated at a quiet table. Obviously we were early diners. This request wasn’t honored and as other diners were seated tables weren’t spaced with half the dining room empty.
On a cold windy fall night you can’t beat the Tavern at the Daniel Webster. It is cozy warm and has great Tavern atmosphere. The food is very good and the service very attentive.
My husband had the prime rib special which he said was good but a bit fatty. I had the petite salmon which was very good and cooked perfectly. We come here for dinner at least twice a season and always enjoy it.
Our favorite place to visit on the Cape..quaint little village of Sandwich is one of my favorite places in New England..if in the area don’t miss it and The Daniel Webster Inn..you’ll love it!!
I do love the restaurant. It's a beautiful room and the food was great.
I had 2 issues. The hallway between the front desk and the restaurant has an odd smell. The service was slow. We had soup, sandwiches and flatbread and it took a long time to come. The restaurant didn't seem that busy so I'm not sure what took so long.
Dependable New England cuisine served in a somewhat dated venue.
Hi Steve ~ Thank you for your comments - we are continously working on updating the Inn decor while trying to keep the old world feel of our historic Inn.
Lovely spot in the conservatory. Menu is somewhat limited but the food is excellent. My husband had the beef tips entree and I had the special: prime rib sandwich.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed!! Glad you enjoyed the Conservatory!
Celebrated sister/brother-in-law anniversary, they chose to sit in The Tavern, which is cosy & quiet. Waitress was pleasant & very attentive. The food was plentiful and delicious. A good time was had by all!
Thank you! Happy Anniversary wishes to your sister and brother-in-law!
Everything was excellent. The staff was very attentive and helpful. All our food items were tastefully prepared and served piping hot.
Thank you!! Hope you have the opportunity to visit us again in the future!
Poor service, which is unusual for this restaurant. Food is ok and pricing is fair. Sorry to say, best days were in the past.
Dear Steve ~ Your ratings are less than we like to see; we definitely strive for higher. We certainly would welcome the opportunity to discuss your visit further if you would like to call me directly at 508-888-3622, ext 261. We hope you choose to give us another opportunity in the future. Sincerely; Jim Cammarata Dining Room Manager
My veal chop was cool and overcooked. It was supposed to be medium rare.
Silver ware had water spots.
Even though they advertised garden was open it was not. There was a wedding event. The bar was not available without a wait
I suggest calling first to determine what is available. This is not noted on open table.
Maitre'd was cool and not welcoming.
Dear JohnS ~ We apologize that your experience was not up to what we strive for our guests to have. We are certainly disheartened to read your comments regarding the veal chop, we have passed your comments on to the Executive Chef. All of our beautiful seating areas double for other events; we are sorry that was not reflected. Should you like to discuss your visit further, please feel free to contact me directly. Sincerely; Ken Smith Assistant General Manager 508-888-3622, ext 262
Brian was a great server, very attentive and conscientious and k or the menu well.
Dear foodies ~ Thank you for your comments! We will definitely pass this on to Brian and his department manager! Thank you again!
Dependable New England cuisine in a comfortable but dated facility. The various dining rooms and reception areas are in need of updating.
Hi Steve ~ Thank you for your comments - we are continously working on updating the Inn decor while trying to keep the old world feel of our historic Inn.
This meal was one of the best we have had in a while. The kitchen is definitely paying attention to the food they send out. The service was cheerful and efficient. We will definitely return.
We’ve always enjoyed the Daniel Webster in, but unfortunately today was an exception. The service as always was pleasant and efficient. The conservatory is lovely and today it was quite nice by the light of an ending summer day. However the food left much to be desired. My bison was way under cooked And my husband’s veal was too well done.. That does not mean that they were oblivious to it however - they did offer to rectify it. We had enjoyed our appetizers and I chose not to stay longer, but bring home my bison to cook later. Again this was probably just a fluke .... at least I hope so. We will return to check it out again.
We are certainly disheartened to read your review of your recent experience. I have ensured the Executive Chef has seen your comments and he is following up with his team. When you return, please ask for me or our Dining Room Manager - Jim Cammarata - we would like the opportunity to personally oversee your next dining experience. Sincerely; Ken Smith Assistant General Manager
Poor service. Salad was never served. Entree was not what ordered. We walked out.
Dear JimB ~ I certainly apologize for your dining experience that evening. You should not have had to endure an evening out like that. Without getting into much detail, I can assure you that should you choose to return, you will not have the same experience -we definitely strive for better. I certainly hope that you do give us another opportunity in the future and please, call me directly to handle your reservation. Sincerely; Jim Cammarata Dining Room Manager
It was our anniversary. We were seated in a small room that was so noisy with no atmosphere . Bright lighting and no ambiance . The wait staff did offer to dim the lighting which was appreciated however it did not make much of a difference . Wish I knew there was a wedding taking place and our seating options would be limited to that room or the tavern . Not what I expected at all
Dear TrishL ~ I certainly do apologize that your visit wasn't the setting you were expecting. Our rooms are often reserved for weddings and other events; I'm sorry you didn't find the open dining room to have the ambiance you envisioned. I am happy to see that you did enjoy your food and that the service was excellent. Should you return anytime soon, please feel free to ask for me directly so I can personally attend to your reservation. Sincerely; Jim Cammarata Dining Room Manager
We had Sunday brunch here. We sat in the small outside patio, there were very few people and we enjoyed the quiet. The conservatory was much busier. Our food selections (eggs benedict and green eggs and ham) were both excellent. I also highly recommend the pomegranate mimosa. Our server (Dustin?) was terrific.
Thank you for the review of your breakfast and we will be sure to pass along the kudos for Dustin! ~ Jim Cammarata
Service great however the food was way overpriced and my short ribs were tough dry and way over cooked - the worst I’ve ever had ! Very disappointing! The desert was good.
Dear BistroAlfresco ~ I am very sorry to hear that your Short Ribs were over cooked; I have forwarded your comments to our Executive Chef so he can follow up appropriately. I certainly hope you addressed this with the manager on duty while you were dining; giving us an opportunity to rectify the situation. Should you like to discuss further, please feel free to contact me at the Inn. Thank you for your comments and glad to see you enjoyed the dessert! ~ Jim Cammarata Dining Room Manager
The calamari is delicious!!! Everything was spot on perfect
Excellent food and a wonderful atmosphere. We love this restaurant!
Hi STKM ~ Thank you!! While we love constructive feedback on how to improve; we definitely love comments like these too!! Thank you again! ~ Jim Cammarata Dining Room Manager
Very nice ambience. The food was fair, but the prices were quite high. WE found the rolls to be so hard as to be almost inedible. The lobster chowder was very good, and I enjoyed the shrimp and grits, ut my wife found the seasoning to be odd. The tiny desserts were very good.
Good food, nice casual surroundings. Good choices food and beverage
Fabulous atmosphere and staff - we had a wonderful friendly welcome and our server was attentive and very nice. Food was absolutely delicious! We highly recommend this restaurant
Thank you very much for the review!
We were a party of 8, everybody had a wonderful time and were very pleased with all and hope to return next year for our yearly dinner meeting.
Hi GloriaW - So happy to hear your group enjoyed! Let us know when to save you a big table...
Every aspect of our dining experience was excellent.
Thank you Thought4food! Happy to hear this!
Very good except that we had a $100 gift card they could not “validate” and left it to us to figure it out. Left a bad taste.
Our experience was outstanding. From the moment we were greeted until we parted, we felt like special guests. The menu offers a selection of choices and we opted for dinner specials of salmon and cod prepared in unique ways. Seating was not only comfortable, but the koi pond and greenhouse atmosphere were lovely and soothing. Following dinner we listened to an outstanding performance of the Cape Cod Chamber Orchestra a block away at Town Hall. We were delighted to learn then the Daniel Webster Inn was a supporter for the benefit concert for Champs Homes of Hyannis.
We will return with family and friends. Thank you all at Daniel Webster Inn.
Dear Carola ~ Thank you for your comments and we are certainly glad you enjoyed your dining experience with us! What a wonderful evening you planned with dinner and entertainment! We are happy to have been a part of what seems like a very special evening.
Daniel Webster can be hit or miss. We've eaten there a good deal over the last 30 years. Sometimes a meal is oustanding, but the service is poor; sometimes the meal is just "so-so" but the service is good. On this occasions two of us had lunch. For what it was--burgers--the food was quite good and the service better frankly than I've come to expect over the last few years.
Dear MarkP - Thank you for being a returning guest of the Inn for so many years. We are sorry to hear that the consistency in your dining experiences are all over the place; but happy that you enjoyed your last visit. We will certainly work to keep that experience the norm! Thank you again!
Everything was lovely, the room, the food, service. I always like to try something new, I had the buffalo cauliflower and it was wonderful. Can’t wait to go again.
Generally the Dan L Webster is a great value for a wonderful ambience and one of the few places you can make a reservation for breakfast on Cape. I’m sure we’ve gone a hundred times over the years. Sunday was not the most positive experience however. Our reservation was for 9:30a. We arrived at 9:25 and we’re advised we were a bit early and there was no table available. It’s fine to say it’s going to be a minute but you don’t generally tell the customer that “they are early“ (when 5 min early) We also asked for a refill of our coffee pot which took two or three requests as did the request for orange juice. So overall not what we’d expect
Dear BillyCapeCod ~ I am very sorry to hear that your most recent dining experience was not up to par nor the expectations I have for our guests. I certainly hope this one experience will not deter you from visiting us again in the future as you have been a frequent guest. Could you please ask for me or our Dining Room Manager, Jim Cammarata the next time you visit? I would like to have the opportunity to meet you. Sincerely; Ken Smith Assistant General Manager Submitted by: Kim
We dined at the Conservatory, an elegant indoor room with large glass windows facing a garden with a pond containing Koi fish. The menu has plenty of choices and the dishes we had were very good (lobster bisque, Filet Mignon, braised duck, key lime pie). Service was quite good for the most part, thought it slowed down towards the end when the room emptied. A little pricey but worth it.
Hi RonK ~ Sounds like you had a wonderful meal! Thank you for choosing to dine with us and we are happy to read you enjoyed the Conservatory! I will be sure to remind my team about watching that end of the night service slow-down; I think they get distracted as the evening is coming to a close and that it is not acceptable. Thank you for your candid comments! Hope to see you again in the future. Sincerely; Jim Cammarata Dining Room Manager
Ordered the signature lobster salad and was very disappointed. For$30 it was not worth it. The special few greens were very ordinary. The lobster was very bland and didn’t didn’t seem fresh. Nothing extra on the small plate. Dining room was very pleasant. I would recommend the restaurant but be careful what you ordered
Dear RosemaryK ~ We are certainly disheartened to read your review of the Lobster Salad - it is normally one of our most loved dishes. I have ensured the Executive Chef has seen your comments and he is following up with his team. When you return, please ask for me or our Dining Room Manager - Jim Cammarata - we would like the opportunity to personally oversee your next dining experience. Sincerely; Ken Smith Assistant General Manager
The food was outstanding! Had the French Onion soup and Prime Rib hash multiple times. The Service was great and the staff very friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable.
Only 3 stars on the food because my wife requested no salt but food came salted. Resturant apologized credited the charge, but it should not have occurred. Generally a good resturant.
Dear RichardV ~ We are sorry to hear of your dining experience; but glad to see we handled the situation for you at the time of dining. We certainly hope you will give us another opportunity in the future. Should you find yourself returning, please ask for me directly so that I can ensure your meals are prepared to your requests. Sincerely; Jim Cammarata, Dining Room Manager
Still the world.’s best onion soup! Great lobster salad and good sized!
Onion Soup is amazing and the lobster salad.... it is great! Thank you
