My friend and I had not seen one another in months.
My husband and I, along with our oldest son and his wife, went to the Daniel Webster Inn for Sunday brunch. We made the mistake of going at 10:45, when brunch doesn’t actually start until 11:30. Everyone else was fine with this, but I’d had my heart set on the Eggs Benedict since I’d read about it a few days earlier...and it wasn’t on the”breakfast” menu...only “brunch”. Our server and the chef saved the day! They made an exception and made me the Benedict 30 minutes early...and it was so worth it! Love that it’s served on a potato croquette instead of an English muffin. The eggs were *perfectly* poached, the hollandaise light and creamy, and theasoaragus served on the side was delightful. Everything I’d been dreaming of. My husband had the Green Eggs and Ham, with a side of prime rib hash, and he couldn’t stop moaning about how delicious it was. He also had th Ceasar Maria Bloody Mary and was very pleased...and he’s suoer picky about getting the “right” balance of spice and horseradish. The kids had the pancake special (with raspberry sauce and fresh strawberries) and the Bananas Foster french Toast, as well as Blood Orange Mimosas, and both were very happy with their choices. My only criticism of the meal is that they don’t offer espresso-based coffees—which are my preference, since I like heavy/dark coffee. Otherwise, the service was beyond expectation, and the food was scrumptious. It’s a tiny bit pricy, but worth it! Would definitely go again.
Absolutely fantastic as always. Excellent choices very well prepared and very good service.
Our waiter, believe is name was George. Older gentleman, started off great and seemed to have to much going on. Dirty wine glasses, empty wine bottle left inn table. The 2nd person who opened our wine put the bottle between his legs. ????
The food was fabulous. Our waitress was outstanding. Thank you for a wonderful date night with my husband.
Excellent food and service with a lovely atmosphere! I would recommend the Music room.
We had lunch with a group of six. The food delicious and nicely presented. Our waiter was delightful and very accommodating. The Conservatory is a lovely dining room with a special ambiance. I highly recommend.
Excellent chef who obviously specializes in his sauces and taste combinations. Had window seat in the Conservatory. Enjoyed watching the fish and quiet conservation. Great selection on both the Fixed Prix and regular menus. Almost personal attendance by our waiter. Best asparagus I've ever eaten. Seconded by my wife. Walking distance of Old Sandwich center. Best first date place around!!!
Wonderful restaurant for Sunday brunch. Nice array of interesting menu options. Food was creative and delicious. Our sunny spot in the conservatory was perfect. We will definitely return.
Love the Dan’l Webster. The best place to eat in Sandwich, and one of my favorites on the Cape! The food is always great and the service is excellent.
We had friendly greeting upon check in. Food and service was excellent. Jennifer (549) was very knowledgeable on everything we wanted to know. Meal was great. Had a wonderful time speaking to Wally on wines and after diner wines. We will return to enjoy many more dinners and special occasions there.
Passing through Sandwich and decided to try the Daniel Webster. We hadn't been to this part of the Cape in 25 years, but had always loved the ambiance of this beautiful historic Inn. There are two dining options, including a lively rustic pub and several more formal dining areas. We opted for a table in the Garden Room, which had a lovely view of the grounds, waterfall and koi pond.
The menu offers something for everyone, including a chef's seasonal menu. Additionally, they were offering three special entrees that night. It was challenging to choose, but the friendly server was extremely helpful in making a selection. I opted for the scallops off of the seasonal menu and my husband chose the cod. The presentation was beautiful and both meals were delicious.
We would highly recommend the Daniel Webster Inn and plan on bringing friends from California with us on our next visit.
The Inn is equal travel for us and the friends we met for lunch. We have met here four or five times, and the food and service have been great. Lots of interesting choices, setting is great for conversation, and we were given plenty of time to enjoy both the food and the company. There are several dining rooms. We ate in the tavern this time, which is very cozy on a cold day. The conservatory is also lovely.
My mom and I had an excellent meal on Easter Sunday. Our server Pam was wonderful and we enjoyed chatting with her. My mom had the turkey which she enjoyed and I had the prime rib which was cooked perfectly and was delicious.
Breakfast and dinner were outstanding. The value was excellent. Our evening waiter and morning waitress were wonderful and added to our stay. I highly recommend both the dining experience, room comfort, and overall experience at your inn.

The food was great as well as the date I was with. Will be back, we both enjoyed everything the restaurant had to offer.
Daniel Webster is never a disappointment! Love the atmosphere, the food, the service, the drinks - what did I leave out?! Always an exceptional place to dine!
Haven’t been there in years. Had forgotten how nice it was. Will be going back soon
The three course fixed price dinner was delicious!
The food was delicious and the service was excellent!
Dinner was nice, but nothing special. Conservatory is very pretty, but chairs are old and uncomfortable. They need new cushions. The host was aware of this problem. Lighting was inadequate. Saw people using their phone flashlights to read the menu. Wait staff was fine, but was not offered the early evening menu. Our meals were good and portions were fine. But won’t rush back anytime soon.
Have been here many times and always have had very good results(food, service, etc.)
Service was disappointing, which is unusual. I believe our server was just super busy, but that shouldn't be my problem. Food was very good. Cocktail not so much - I honestly don't think I got the top shelf vodka I asked for.
i have been going to the Dan:l WEBSTER FOR MANY YEARS AND ALWAYS LOOK FOWARD TO GOING BACK no matter what the occasion may be.
Great atmosphere expected food to be better. Crabcakes were small. Lobster salad a little dry.
Wonderful. However it was a little on the dark side and difficult to read the menus. Other than that, perfect.
Always a great meal at Daniel Webster!!! Staff is attentive and friendly. I love at view of the atrium too!
Another wonderful experience at the Danl Webster Inn. I travel regularly across the country and there really is no other place like it - the feel of an 18th century inn with attentive but folksy service and terrific dining offerings rooted deep in New England and Cape Cod heritage. Joanne did a fantastic job and Shane and crew there to provide welcoming hospitality and quick seating. Do not pass this place by°°
Delicious food and excellent service. Lovely upscale atmosphere in the dining room and very cozy and casual atmosphere in the rustic Tavern, complete with fireplace. Highly recommend
I haven't been to the DWI in 30 years. It was a perfect spot for a romantic dinner. We sat by the fireplace in the waiting area before our table was ready. It had a ski lodge feel, comfortable and familiar.
Not impressed. Food was only mediocre tasting, nothing special which was what I was expecting for the price.
We often go to the Dan’l Webster for breakfast. It’s a great bargain with a terrific ambience, great new menu, and wonderful service. You were always greeted when you arrive with a smile.
Never have disappointed us. Excelent service and dinner menu
The waitress was exceptional, personable, efficient, patient.
The breakfast was excellent.
Great experience - nice decore - server was amazing - all the food was terrific — ! Already planning our NEXT visit !! Highly recommended ....
Excellent experience. The dining room was most comfortable, coupled with excellent service. The price-fixe menu provided very good value and food. Selections were varied and well presented. Will definitely go again.
How unfortunate that this once very good restaurant has continued to go steadily downhill over the years. So extremely disappointed in this past experience so, it will be our last. A bill in excess of $400 and the prime rib was like shoe leather, the filet was not even tender, the asparagus tough.. The wait staff was marginal and after placing drink orders, we waited 15 minutes before they were even delivered, literally! And, even before the dining experience, the interaction with the hostess over the phone to change the reservation was down right rude! We have family in the area and have frequented both the tavern and conservatory restauarants for over 20 years along with staying at the inn. No more!
Beautifully prepared food in a romantic setting. Service impeccable and friendly.
We were there for New Year's Eve, a night when food and service are often bad in restaurants and the noise level high. We were pleasantly surprised. The food here was excellent and the ambiance quiet and perfect. We will be back.
Awesome, just awesome
