Danji
At Danji and Hanjan we choose to use meat raised with no antibiotics or growth hormones. Our fish are caught wild and are not overfished and endangered. We try to use as much organic and local produce as possible and certainly do not use chemicals, such as MSG, to enhance flavors. No doubt these ingredients cost more but we believe the food we consume should be healthy and responsible as well as delicious.

staff was incredible and the food was absolutely amazing
Amazing food with great pricing. Definitely a must visit if you are in NYC.
Great food and attentive staff!
love everything about it. they have a nice outdoor set-up
Danji is a neighborhood favorite of mine. The food is SO good and unique. Staff is always very friendly and during this crazy time of COVID-19 they have lovely individual pods for each group to sit in with a heater so you can still enjoy and support them during the winter.
The menu offers only a limited selection compared with before Covid times but everything is still delicious.
Very friendly service and comfy warm outdoor booths.
We had a reservation for 8:00 pm and sat down at 8:40 pm after waiting for 40 minutes outside on the sidewalk in frigid temperatures for our table to become available.
They were apologetic and, when we finally sat down, comped us a couple of things, which we appreciated, but it was clear from looking at the experience of other groups with reservations that this was a pattern. Basically they take more reservations than they can handle and assume you’ll wait. This may work when it’s warmer outside or you can have a drink at the bar, but it’s not a great experience when temperatures are in the thirties and waiting inside is unsafe, not to mention illegal.
The food was great as usual but I’m not sure we’ll go back if this is how they handle reservations.
I am so glad to have Danji to have in our neighborhood. The food is always great, and the service is very attentive even in this very challenging condition in the pandemic.
It's a pandemic and so we were seated outside. The tables were appropriately spaced and it was a relatively quiet night. The service was good and fairly quick. The staff was fantastic and truly amazing. They definitely cared about their customers. The food was awesome.
Neighborhood gem with great and flavorful food in a stylish atmosphere.
Consistent delicious Korean food with some amazing modern twists with fantastic service
Absolutely loved my recent outdoor dining experiences at Danji! The staff was super nice to remember we were celebrating a birthday, and the food was incredible. Highly recommend the mushroom noodles, the bibimbap, the bacon kimchi rice, and the seafood scallion pancake (appetizer). Great cocktails too! The outdoor seating in the street is a decent setup, but the tent flaps are a little noisy when cars come by, so recommend sidewalk seating.
Delicious food. We were rushed because we had to make it to a show but the staff was very accommodating and brought everything out as quickly as possible. Would recommend.
Delicious kimchee, bi bim bap, eggs with cod roe spectacular. Tofu salad amazing. I’ve been at least 4 times and will keep coming back.
Nice fusion and creation of asian cuisine, good vibes
Awesome place with great food close to the theaters!
Party of 2 for Sunday brunch so we had dumpling soup and a Bimbap. Everything was very good and well presented. They are a bit heavy on the garlic, but I am sure there is plenty of people out there who like it.
I will go back.
We had a delicious lunch for our wedding anniversary and they surprised us with some sesame ice cream as a treat. Amazing food great service
Fantastic food!
Food was good to very good (fried chicken was very good) but the room is very tight and cramped - we were seated at a table for two but was constantly bumped by waitstaff and diners as they walked by, not an enjoyable experience. Guess we’ll just keep going back to Hanjan.
Way too loud in the back but a great place to have a cocktail and some amazing bulgogi sliders.
One of my fav restaurants!
Didn’t realize they were serving brunch, which is fine (but not as good as their regular menu). The server had zero knowledge of their drink menu and told us they had no bloody Mary’s, despite us watching the bartender make them. I would not return for weekend brunch service.
We had the tasting menu for 2. Everything was delicious but there was so much food. Should have paced ourself or the final courses.
Tasting menu was great. Flawless service
Great meal as always! Our favorite pre-theater spot.
Great food, nice people. Can’t go wrong here or at their downtown location, Hanjan
This Place is wonderful!!!
Food was amazing. We did the tasting menu and it was totally worth it to be able to try a number of different dishes.
Love Danji! They never disappoint. The food is amazing and abundant! The service is always spectacular. Get the tofu, the kfc and the bossom!
Pre show dinner. Amazing food. Great small plates. The food will expand in your stomach so the risk of overeating is high. But that is not always a bad thing :). Definitely recommend if you are looking for something different from traditional pre theater dinner fare.
Great place near the theater district with great food and service.
The food is so amazing at Danji that I am a repeat customer - and I frequently recommend it to my friends.
It is a great spot of dinner. Actually very exciting.
Food is quite creative and nice, perfect service and ok atmosphere (the space has its limitations, but in NY that means that they can probably survive longer and keep their independence, so its fine!).
My only question is about lunch. Whereas dinner is perfect, lunch seems a bit less original and less surprising. Too much rice, noodles, etc.
Over all an amazing spot. Totally recomendable for dinner.
Food was great. Servings are small but tasty and satisfying. I was dissappointed that banyan didn't come with the meal as with traditional korean fare. Banyan trio is good, but pickles were a little too hot to be eaten on it's own. I didn't try the kimchi.
Atmosphere is cramped and seating is uncomfortable. But I guess it is nice that they try to fit in as many reservations as possible into the room. But there is no privacy or romantic atmosphere here. You will be bumping elbows with your neighbors.
This is one of the best restaurants in New York City. The staff is so welcoming and warm and helpful. And the food is outstanding, superb quality, beautifully presented and prepared.
It’s a shame that I can’t offer five stars across the board because the food was very good as well as the ginger jalapeño margarita (fresh ginger - yum!) however, we arrive for our 10:45 PM reservation post-Broadway show and were told the tasting menu was no longer available and were promptly rushed through ordering and service with staff trying to take our dishes before we were finished and not providing ample time between courses. It was clear everyone wanted to go home. Go early instead of late for the best experience - where the service hopefully, matches the food and quaintness of the place.
The food and the service for good. no complaints. My only complaint wasWith OpenTable. When I made the reservation, no mention was made that on Valentine’s Day their usual a la carte menu was switched to a price fixe menu. You’re not the only one surprised with the host seated us, as there were several other couples
Great food and service. The managements attention to detail is always impressive. They remember our name and We feel very welcome when ever we go. One of our favorite places to dine in NYC!
We wanted a tasting menu for less than $100, not easy to find in midtown Manhattan. This wonderful restaurant was only a 10 minute walk from our hotel. The tasting menu ($58 per person) was filling and varied - sushi, tofu, beef, pork and black cod. The service was great and we LOVED it all!
