At Danji and Hanjan we choose to use meat raised with no antibiotics or growth hormones. Our fish are caught wild and are not overfished and endangered. We try to use as much organic and local produce as possible and certainly do not use chemicals, such as MSG, to enhance flavors. No doubt these ingredients cost more but we believe the food we consume should be healthy and responsible as well as delicious.

The tasting menu was delicious and huge portions! Highly recommend!
The tasting menu was incredible! The ambiance was warm and sexy. Loved it.
A favorite and so happy to return after 18 months for their exceptional food...
Excellent all around. The tasting menu gave us a little of everything and the drinks were also well executed.
Great experience, the Soju was delicious and the food was tasty too. Our favorite dish was the bulgogi sliders.
Danji is a small Korean restaurant in Hells Kitchen area of NYC. We sat outside in on of the individual enclosed booths. We had the tasting menu which was very good. Two people in our party also did the drink pairing which they enjoyed. The service was good and attentive despite us being outside.
Definitely try the favorites menu with pairings (a great value for an amazing experience), but if you limit yourself to individual dishes the tofu and sashimi are must haves!
Loved it ! We were a party of three and ordered the prefix meal for three ! So much food ! And every course was delicious !
This place has amazing food. We ordered the tasting menu and everything was over the top good, we wanted to lick every bowl. Service was top-notch. Ambiance is good- it’s a teeny tiny place but they do a good job making it comfortable. Overall one of the best meals I have ever had.
We were seated in a private plywood box between the sidewalk and the street. Parklet variation, part of a Covid adaptation. There was a heater. Very weird. Waiter staff came and went with our dishes through a sliding door. Other patrons were inside the main restaurant. While the food and service were good, eating in a small wooden box is not fine dining.
Had the tasting menu -- absolutely fantastic. Danji make the tofu fresh every day, and it was brilliant!
Was pretty shocked about the price. Definitely one of those modern restaurants that serve fairly good food in small portions but not to the point where I’d want to order another round both because of the monetary and taste value. If you’re on a budget, this would not be on my list of restaurants to recommend but if you have the privilege to spend, worth a try!
This place is absolutely amazing! The food and drinks are top notch and the service is excellent too!!
Pre-show dinner that was more incredible than we could have imagined!
We had the delicious tasting menu which was a bargain at the very reasonable price given the quantity of tasty food. They even managed to convert my husband to tofu - a true achievement. Excellent, friendly service as well. Recommended.
Friends visiting from California and everything was so delicious we decided to make dining at Danji a must every time they visit.
Amazing! I did their tasting menu & it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had! Ever! The Korean flavors took me right back to Seoul, but in an elegant and elevated way. Definitely recommend!!
Delicious unique surprising in the best way
Amazing. Highly recommend
I came here for the KFC and it did not disappoint, however, the tasting menu was very heavy and honestly some of the dishes just weren't very tasty. I had trouble eating the last course because I was so full from the heavy courses leading up to it.
Such an awesome dinner. Two of us shared 4 dishes and they were equally enjoyable: textures, balanced flavors with all those wonderful Korean ingredients! Soju and barley beer were excellent accompaniments. Friendly, warm and courteous service. Can’t wait to come back.
Great food and drinks as always. We missed one of our Prix fixe courses but otherwise great experience
We ate outside in small individual personal table and had a GREAT meal. Inside restaurant looked super cool too. Food was amazing! Will 100 percent go back next time in NYC!
My partner and I had very high expectations for this place given that we'd been cooking recipes from chef Hooni Kim's cookbook My Korea for several months prior. But the food just didn't live up to the hype--nor did it justify the extremely high prices. If you're going to charge $24 for six teensy slices of yellow tail it'd better be mindblowing and instead it was just meh. Similarly the bulgogi sliders came on soggy buns and the $8 banchan (which is typically free in Korean restaurants) was underseasoned and bland. If you want awesome Korean food at a fraction of the price head out to Flushing, but don't waste your time and money here.
Amazing! So cute inside- very clean and great Covid protocols. The food was OUTSTANDING… can’t wait to go back!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent experience from start to finish. The service was great, food always impresses.
We arrived on time ( reservation time and yet had to wait for 15 min to be seated. 2 items not available. One for cocktails and one entree
All good. Food was outstanding as well as service. Small restaurant that packs a lot of quality food for its size.
Spicy rice dish was amazing!!! The shrimp and onion pancake was also super.
This is a wonderful Korean restaurant that specializes in small plates in the theater district. We especially enjoyed the vegetable puffs that we fried in a tempura-like batter.
Loved it. Can’t wait to go back. Best tofu I’ve ever had. Everything delicious. Great service.
Wonderful food and wine. Everything was amazing, but especially the yellowtail sashimi and the spicy rice cakes! Perfect place for dinner before a show, on a more quiet street and as far away from Times Square as we could get while still in walking distance to the theaters.
we ate here pre theater. The staff was wonderful. The bartender recommend drinks. The food was vey good and a lot more per serving than we expected. The vege dumplings were our fav. I also loved the shrimp and scallion pancake. We will definitely come back!
Our family visited Danji for the after Broadway dining. The service was really good and the outside dining booths were convenient but not elegant. Good for groups and laughs and great convo. The food was tasty and fulling, not Michelin level but good for tapas fun.
Food wa a amazing!! I usually eat my food less salty. So next time I think I’ll ask the chef to make it less sodium. But overall, from service, drinks, food quality was excellent!!!
Would def return for another evening dining
Really enjoyed it. Good food and service. The shrimp and scallion pancakes and the tofu were stand outs.
Terrific food, almost too attentive service, little individual shack outside is unusual and kind of fun. I recommend the tasting menu with alcohol pairing. Everything delicious. Particularly liked sliders, scallion pancake, fish.
Really special experience. Can’t wait to return to try everything else on the menu! Lovely and welcoming service too. Very safe outdoor dining even in hot or inclement weather.
Great food and drinks in the private outdoor seating, but rushed to leave. Wanted to order more after an hour, but given check instead. Would definitely recommend that they explain their time limits and give a warning for last call for food/drinks.
