At Danji and Hanjan we choose to use meat raised with no antibiotics or growth hormones. Our fish are caught wild and are not overfished and endangered. We try to use as much organic and local produce as possible and certainly do not use chemicals, such as MSG, to enhance flavors. No doubt these ingredients cost more but we believe the food we consume should be healthy and responsible as well as delicious.
If you love Korean Food, you will absolutely love this place.
I will definitely be back!
Great food, great service!
If your in NYC, go and check this place out!
This was our second time at Danji. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is really wonderful. Without asking, they brought ice cream with a candle for the birthday we were celebrating. Don't miss the bossam, which we have had both trips. What a dish!
Wow!
This is one of our all time favorites! Everything was great! Spicy yellowtail, Tofu w. Ginger scallion, and bossam were all fantastic!
Very small NYC restaurant, with a really cool vibe. Can’t wait to go back and try the entire menu.
The best Korean food I have ever had! Creative, tasty, festive...a great surprise.
We stopped by for lunch since we were craving Bim bop. The bim bop was a little small but very delicious. We also ordered pan fried gyoza which were excellent
The staff was super nice and I think it’s a perfect place for lunch
Some of the best food I’ve ever had. Truly memorable. Only complaint, it’s too tight and seating uncomfortable. I wasn’t able to completely immerse myself because the seats are too hard, and you’re on top of each other.
Amazing food. We did the tasting menu and it was too much food but spectacular quinine. Pear cocktail was exceptional as well. Thanks.
Food portion was too small compared to high price. We had 2 dinner order and I could have eaten them all by myself.
Would highly recommend for a pre-show meal. Food was very good and arrived quickly- which would be perfect if you have a show to catch. Great option in an area not known for good food
Danji is my favourite Korean in New York. It has never disappointed me. Good service and dxcellent food (tasting menu). Highly recommended.
Fantastic food - especially the tasting menu with beverage pairing. Such a gem of a restaurant in this area.
Superb cuisine. We had the prix fixe/tasting menu. More food than we could eat but good amount for younger folks. One of top 2 meals in last few months.
Good food and great staff.
Great find after theatre.
Nicely quiet compared to Times Square.
Great service and half price wine on a Sunday !
Food was extremely special - had the tasting menu.
Very casual neighborhood restaurant with great vibes and food. It is a little on the expensive side, especially if sitting at a high communal table but an overall very good experience.
Horrible experience. Much of the staff could be seen taking shots behind the bar throughout the night.
I’m 3 years sober and ordered a lemonade, they served me a drink full of whisky. Totally inappropriate. Food is good but the staff is a liability.
Lovely small space with amazing dishes. Even our teenage sons thought the food was amazing. Highly recommend!
Good place good food
This place rocks.
The food was fantastic. Great pre-theater spot. Definitely recommend the tasting menu.
We had a minor issue wasn’t immediately rectified by the manager, but it was resolved to my satisfaction in the end.
Second time there. It’s been a couple of years since the last time. Everything pretty good except the service which at the start was slow. Were there a while before our first attention.
We were seated at a communal table that seats 8 people. Once you get used to bumping elbows, it’s not bad at all. They have a full bar and the wines are decent. We decided to try the tasting menu for 2 and this is where the fun started. Every dish they served was outstanding. Excellent presentation and amazing flavors. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Always a great meal
Amazing atmosphere and delicious food. We went there following a broadway show and it was perfect. The staff was knowledgeable and made great recommendations. The kimchi fried rice was fantastic and the pork belly sliders were so juicy and flavourful.
A small quiet restaurant with good lighting, attentive service, and outstanding food at very reasonable prices for the excellent quality of the food. Their wines are nice too, and they bring the bottle to the table, let you taste it, then pour your glass. As it should be! I will be returning.
Danji is a very fun, tiny, Korean restaurant slightly off the beaten track on west 52nd street. People have found it nonetheless, and a reservation is usually necessary. The first time you go, you might want to have their tasting menu, which will give a good overview of the dishes. If you feel braver, just go for what appeals to you most on the menu. Our favorites include the tofu, rice cakes with sausage, scallion and shrimp pancake, and black cod with miso. They also have spicy wings and bulgogi sliders. It's possible to sit at the bar, at high top tables that seat six, or at conventional height tables in the rear (my preference). Full bar available. The staff is nice and will explain dishes to you.
This is the most inventive restaurant in West Midtown, I happily dine here once a week. Highest recommendation...
Amazing! The tasting menu was everything you’d want!
Elbow-to-elbow space with amazing food. A reservation is a must. Chicken wings, bulgogi, and kimchi were delicious - flavorful with a spicy kick! Bring a friend and share 3 or 4 plates!
Small cozy ambience
High top tables are communal seating but not bothersome
A few regular tables in the back too
Staff was very helpful and attentive-we had the tasting menu and everything was delicious and a lot of food for the value
Perfect for pre- theatre dinner
Amazing food got grumpy when asked to sit at different table not the one next to kitchen door.
Reliably pleasant environment and delicious Korean small plates!
Attentive service, great pacing of the dishes. Everything tasted great!
The Prix Fixe at 58$ is a bargain. Great Korean food, some dishes quite spicy.
The food was exceptional and made for the perfect pre-theatre dinner. Would highly recommend!
Delicious!
Very nice dinner, tried the black cod and a couple of starters. Also had a cocktail. The food was very tasty, the service fast and attentive, the ambience lively. The prices were quite high though which is the only issue I see.
Nice small restaurant! Good service! Very good bibim-bap, but we would have liked it to be served in a hot stone pot. Thanks!
Ordered tasting menu. Each dish was very good with sliders and tofu being the best. Timing was also very good and we did not feel rushed nor bored between courses.
Met every possible expectation we could have had! The diverse menu, with every dish beautifully presented, was satisfying in every way.
