At Danji and Hanjan we choose to use meat raised with no antibiotics or growth hormones. Our fish are caught wild and are not overfished and endangered. We try to use as much organic and local produce as possible and certainly do not use chemicals, such as MSG, to enhance flavors. No doubt these ingredients cost more but we believe the food we consume should be healthy and responsible as well as delicious.

I came here for the KFC and it did not disappoint, however, the tasting menu was very heavy and honestly some of the dishes just weren't very tasty. I had trouble eating the last course because I was so full from the heavy courses leading up to it.
Such an awesome dinner. Two of us shared 4 dishes and they were equally enjoyable: textures, balanced flavors with all those wonderful Korean ingredients! Soju and barley beer were excellent accompaniments. Friendly, warm and courteous service. Can’t wait to come back.
Great food and drinks as always. We missed one of our Prix fixe courses but otherwise great experience
We ate outside in small individual personal table and had a GREAT meal. Inside restaurant looked super cool too. Food was amazing! Will 100 percent go back next time in NYC!
My partner and I had very high expectations for this place given that we'd been cooking recipes from chef Hooni Kim's cookbook My Korea for several months prior. But the food just didn't live up to the hype--nor did it justify the extremely high prices. If you're going to charge $24 for six teensy slices of yellow tail it'd better be mindblowing and instead it was just meh. Similarly the bulgogi sliders came on soggy buns and the $8 banchan (which is typically free in Korean restaurants) was underseasoned and bland. If you want awesome Korean food at a fraction of the price head out to Flushing, but don't waste your time and money here.
Amazing! So cute inside- very clean and great Covid protocols. The food was OUTSTANDING… can’t wait to go back!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Excellent experience from start to finish. The service was great, food always impresses.
We arrived on time ( reservation time and yet had to wait for 15 min to be seated. 2 items not available. One for cocktails and one entree
All good. Food was outstanding as well as service. Small restaurant that packs a lot of quality food for its size.
Spicy rice dish was amazing!!! The shrimp and onion pancake was also super.
This is a wonderful Korean restaurant that specializes in small plates in the theater district. We especially enjoyed the vegetable puffs that we fried in a tempura-like batter.
Loved it. Can’t wait to go back. Best tofu I’ve ever had. Everything delicious. Great service.
Wonderful food and wine. Everything was amazing, but especially the yellowtail sashimi and the spicy rice cakes! Perfect place for dinner before a show, on a more quiet street and as far away from Times Square as we could get while still in walking distance to the theaters.
we ate here pre theater. The staff was wonderful. The bartender recommend drinks. The food was vey good and a lot more per serving than we expected. The vege dumplings were our fav. I also loved the shrimp and scallion pancake. We will definitely come back!
Our family visited Danji for the after Broadway dining. The service was really good and the outside dining booths were convenient but not elegant. Good for groups and laughs and great convo. The food was tasty and fulling, not Michelin level but good for tapas fun.
Food wa a amazing!! I usually eat my food less salty. So next time I think I’ll ask the chef to make it less sodium. But overall, from service, drinks, food quality was excellent!!!
Would def return for another evening dining
Really enjoyed it. Good food and service. The shrimp and scallion pancakes and the tofu were stand outs.
Terrific food, almost too attentive service, little individual shack outside is unusual and kind of fun. I recommend the tasting menu with alcohol pairing. Everything delicious. Particularly liked sliders, scallion pancake, fish.
Really special experience. Can’t wait to return to try everything else on the menu! Lovely and welcoming service too. Very safe outdoor dining even in hot or inclement weather.
Great food and drinks in the private outdoor seating, but rushed to leave. Wanted to order more after an hour, but given check instead. Would definitely recommend that they explain their time limits and give a warning for last call for food/drinks.
Tasted Danji’s summer restaurant week menu. I can see how this is a fun place ideal for casual drinks, mostly with Korean finger foods. Wouldn’t recommend to a friend seeking quality Korean meal.
Too sweet. Very different from real Korean food. Taste like American food.
Absolutely delightful. Went for restaurant week but we were dying to try the Ddeokbokki so added it onto the table à la carte. Didn't disappoint. Loved the makgeolli as well!
Incredibly delicious and inventive take on Korean food. Try it all!
Loved the staff. They were very pleasant and accommodating. Food was absolutely tasty.
Sat outside in an air conditioned booth. Was very nice.
Great food and service as always.
Best food and experience I have had in a very long time. Outstanding!
I miss their sesame ice cream.

I have been to Danji a handful of times and keep coming back! It truly is one of my favorite places to eat in NYC.
Came here for restaurant week. Definitely not worth $40. The beef bulgogi had like a tiny corner of meat. The appetizers were generally cheap options like tofu or a few wings. Most of the bulgogi was rice and there was nothing special about the other items in the dish.
Excellent food, cocktails & friendly service. Thank you!
This was one of the best meals I've had in NYC. I love Korean food and the recommendations from the Bartender were excellent. They have small plates for sharing so me and my friend shared three. We started with the Yellowtail Sashimi with the Gochujang Dressing, it was sensational. The second was the Kim Chi Wet Fried Rice, it was balanced and fun to eat. Not too spicy and very decadent. Finally, we had the Braised Short Ribs. This was a unique offering with a Korean BBQ kind of flavor, but with traditional carrots, potato and pearl onions. It was outstanding.
Our party was for 4 but we only had 2 so we sat at the bar. I don't know if the rest of the chairs were the same, but those are the most uncomfortable bar stools I have ever sat on. Maybe add some cushions? I limped out of the place after a little over an hour. I was still full and happy though.
Did my research on this one and picked it based on overwhelmingly positive reviews. Danji did not disappoint. Great location. The service was prompt, courteous and professional and the food was out of this world. The fish was perfect, flaky and moist. Tried one of their specialty cocktails (something with cowboy in the name) made with the whiskey. Expertly done. Well balance with just the right amount of punch. Perfect place for a group to share some of the tapas. Highly recommend.
We ate at Danji for our anniversary. We most liked the food (we shared the sashimi, scallion pancake, and wings), the Korean rice wine (a first for us, so good!), and the attentive/charming service. I highly, highly recommend. The décor was captivating also.
Danny is a small restaurant in an old building but decor is tasted. Food was good but server failed to tell us we were over ordering from the appetizer menu.
Good was amazing I’d recommend this place anyone and everyone I love this place.
Would not recommend Danji if you're looking for nice service and a relaxing meal. If you just want amazing food, they have that in spades, but the service cannot match it. I went for a meal recently and was told we had to give up our table after only 1 hour, and not offered the chance to order more food or desserts, just told that there was a reservation waiting. We had made a reservation and those are usually 90 minute maximums with limited Covid seating, but there was never any indication that we'd need to leave after 60 minutes until we were suddenly told. Even weirder, no one was waiting to take our table. The outdoor setup is also really odd at Danji - 4 small wooden huts on the street, so you feel very isolated from other diners and it's a bit of a strange experience. The sashimi, bibimbap, kimichi fried rice, and tofu are excellent, but the servers were rude and the ambiance lacking, so would not recommend.
Outstanding restaurant. I considered not reporting this to make it easier for me to get a table. But that wouldn't be right. Do yourself a favor and go.
