We had a fantastic meal. The service was great. We enjoyed good conversation, the restaurant was not very loud at all.
My husband and I went to Daniela’s for our one year wedding anniversary it was a nice restaurant they gave us champagne to celebrate which was nice the food was good I had the cheese ravioli it was good overall it was a good experience
One star is a generous review. I would NEVER recommend this place unless I really hated someone and wanted to get revenge. I made a reservation for brunch, though probably wouldn’t have been necessary in the half empty restaurant. We got there and were sat immediately. It took another 10 minutes before anyone spoke to us, brought us a menu, brought us water, or took our drink order. We asked for coffee and water. Then the waiter finally brought coffee and water and took our order. I got eggs Benedict and my friend got the short rib hash. FORTY minutes later, our food arrived - luke warm, at best. The short rib hash was served in the dish in which it was cooked, but was cool to the touch. The toast was cold. The eggs Benedict hollandaise had been sitting so long that it was curdling. The potatoes were cold and dry. The food, overall, left a lot to be desired. At one point, I went to use the restroom. There was no toilet paper, so I ended up using paper towels. When I stood to flush, I saw an unopened roll of toilet paper, which I opened to put on the tp holder. When I opened it, it was clear that it had probably been dropped in water and dried. It was disgusting. Upon getting back to the table, my friend said the waiter finally came by to refill our waters and ask how our food was, to which she replied “meh... it was okay”. The waiter was clearly not listening because he left and didn’t do anything with that information. The waiter was happy to clear our plates the second a dish became empty, but another 10 minutes passed before we had to wave someone down to ask for our check. In comparison, all the tables around us were seated with drinks and food within 10-15 minutes of getting there. It shocks me that this place would have as high of a rating as it does.
Well priced pre-theater meal in perfect location. The Caesar salad was great and the lasagna was delicious. We will likely return.
food came out so fast it seemed like it was microwaved. the food was unevenly heated. Service was excellent but the timing was too fast.
The best part of the experience was the service. The staff were attentive and very welcoming. The prices seemed a little high for the food we ordered, but it's on-par with other New York restaurants. Very well decorated, with exposed brick and good lighting.
The meal was great and portion sizes were just right.
Picked Daniela’s off the internet b/c of its proximity to our show. Tiny table, ok drinks, good entrees. Half-used butter cup served w/cold bread; not-crisp cannoli served w/light canned whipped cream which deflated immediately! Wouldn’t choose it again.
We had the most fantastic time! It was my birthday and the servers dimmed the lights and sang offering complimentary tiramisu cake. Made me feel special in addition to the food being great! I had the ravioli which was just perfect!!! Highly recommend after a show!
Pizza tastes good.
Food was good. Service was quick. Everyone was friendly and it was close to the Majestic Theatre. Perfect place for after the show.
Ate here between Harry Potter shows. About 6 min walk from theater. We had a reservation but it didn’t seem to be needed. We had bruschetta which was just average nothing special. For entrees we had the Bolognese and the Short Rib, both were excellent. However the Bolognese was just luke warm where as the Short Rib was steaming hot. We had the red sangria which was very tasty. Very authentic unlike many served in most restaurants or bars. Also had the tiramisu which was also quite good. Service was attentive. Overall a very nice experience and I would recommend.
Great service and food
Perfect for before a play
Servers very polite
If you make a reservation you’ll be seated upstairs. The service FAST and I think it’s because they know people come here before their shows. The food was delicious and everything was very nice. Would definitely go again!
Had dinner hear prior to seeing a show. Our table was ready, which was great. We had the option to sit upstairs or downstairs and were glad we chose upstairs as it wasn't as noisy and hectic. Service was very good as was the food. Our meals were delicious, though I would have liked if the courses came out a little slower. Dinner service is VERY fast!
Nice place, good food, excellent service. A bit high priced
Food was great, especially the fresh pesto! Lovely atmosphere, we made a reservation and were seated upstairs. Great find for before or after Theater!
Wonderful price fix pre Broadway show menu for a very reasonable price. Highly recommended!
Great Italian food in lovely theater district of Manhattan! The food was quite delicious and exactly what we were hoping for. The service was incredibly speedy!
Celebrating Fathers Day with my dad
Service was slow at first then it got better as the evening went on
I’d go back
Excellent service and delicious food.
Awesome Italian restaurant and one of my go-to favorites ! Food is solid and service is great and prices reasonable ! Fabulous place!
This was our second time back, we absolutely loved it the first time but unfortunately they changed the menu in the restaurant but not on their website or anywhere else online and the dishes that we loved were removed. I asked if they could accommodate us and make the linguine marichara which they did and was delish but they do not make home made fettuccine anymore which my daughter had the first visit with Alfredo sauce and it was the best she ever had and she is very fussy. She ordered tortellini instead but the alfredo sauce when it came out was yellow not white and it was not good. Hopefully they will update the menus online so patrons know that the menu is totally different.
Party of 8 with 4 kids under age 10, always a challenging meal. Wait staff was on top of our needs. Immediate deliver of bread drinks and a rush to get pretty good pizza for the kids.
Accommodated us adding 2 people at the last minute was very appreciated, and making 9 people happy is an impressive feat.
Good experience. Food was good and the service was exceptional. Probably the most attentive wait staff we've had in a long time. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Food good quality, service excellent, very nice staff. Says I can order off the menu and they do their best to serve what you like. Will do next time I visit.
Enjoyed our dinner at Daniela’s. A very solid Italian meal.
Very reasonably priced for the value of the meal.
Waiter failed to introduce himself and really lacked personality. He and the busboy seemed overwhelmed yet it was only a small group of people dining upstairs. We were going to a show and I guess it helped us to leave more quickly. Think I will pass on this next time I'm in the city. In fairness to the chef - my chicken was cooked well. They offered no oil for the cold bread (firm butter pats) which really didn't matter because the bread was hard - maybe stale? So, that helped me stay on target with reducing my carbs.🙄🤔
Respectable neighborhood Italian joint on a busy stretch of 8th Avenue near the Theater District. Generous servings, with the biggest arancini I've ever seen, but not as flavorful as I might've hoped. Moderately-priced wines and drinks. Fortunately, we got there early for a pre-theater dinner, because there was a prolonged delay between the appetizer and the entrees which filled all the time allotted. The kitchen problem was never addressed by our server, who otherwise was efficient and pleasant.
A wonderful experience the service was great. Very attentive staff. Enjoyed a wonderful dinner at a reasonable price. We’ll be back👍
Great location and a delicious pre theatre Italian meal. The Caesar salad was excellent along with the homemade meat tortellini with sausage and broccoli rabe. The service was attentive and friendly. This was a good find for us. Definitely good for kids.
Very quick pre-theatre dinner. Food was good, a bit pricey but service was excellent.
Treated well. Great food. Great service. Our go to restaurant when attending the theater.
We dined here last night. We arrived after 10:15, but parties were coming in after us, too. I ordered shrimp scampi. There were 4-5 medium grilled shrimp served over lukewarm, tasteless white beans, with reheated broccoli and roasted potatoes. This was $30. I was very disappointed. Another person had penne vodka, which was only so-so, for $20. I wouldn’t return. Menu prices on Open Table should be updated to reflect the restaurant’s current pricing.
Pros are the service was incredibly fast. Great if you’re going to see a show. Cons - Bread was eh. Meals were mediocre. Nothing special. Charged $4 for a coke and no free refills. Ended up spending $8 on soda. If I had known that, water would have been fine. Servers don’t seem to care if food came out acceptable. Wouldn’t dine here again.
Very disappointed - website and menu looked great - not in person. Dated interior. We were there on a Sunday for a pre matinee lunch and were given a very limited Brunch menu. That is not indicated on the website menu. Some of opted for individual pizza because it was basically that or a burger. The pie crust was equal to a flour tortilla. The slices of sausage - gray. The burgers small, charred and unappealing. The coffee - cold. Honestly, it was just very bad.
Surprisingly good for a little hole in the wall neighborhood restaurant. We would definitely go back. Very convenient for the theater district!
We were a little late due to traffic but they still accommodated us right away. Cute rustic appearance with open front. Nice! Service people were right on us with menus and drinks and throughout dinner, even refilling our wine glasses. Very attentive and extremely polite without being overbearing. Prix fine dinner a bargain. Chicken piccata came with 2 huge breasts. Absolutely recommend and will definitely return.
