Great meal before a show
Although there is seating at tables and the bar as well as outside, a steep stairway leads to a large dining room, service bar, and single person gender specific restrooms. This level of the restaurant is not ADA compliant. A limited menu allows for excellent and prompt preparation and service of classic Italian fare. The wine list is also limited but very appropriate and priced. You will have an enjoyable, if predictable, meal and good service at this busy mid-town trattoria on the corner of 8th Ave and 45th Street. A reservation is helpful.
I would never eat there again. The calamari we ordered was so chewy and gross. The server continued to ignore us when we were ready to order. When he finally walked by we told him we were ready and he said just a minute and continued to help everyone else. Had to beg for water refills. Paid for appetizers and left to eat down the street at Carve. Carve tasted way better and the service was 100 percent better. With so many options of places to eat in NYC, I would never go to Daniela’s again!
Perfect for our large group. Attentive service, great food!
Sisters birthday weekend after show. The entire experience was fabulous.
Wonderful Food and Service at Daniela's! Thank You for reading the remark I left on Open Table reservation site, requesting a special birthday desert for my BFF!
Great food, great service
Thanks to a reservation we were seated upstairs. It was lovely. Food is always delicious and the service was superb. We timed it perfectly to get to the theater on time. Thanks. Daniela!
Food was fantastic. Staff was attentive and quick. Plenty of time to catch an 8pm show. Must try Daniela’s garlic bread.
Between theater shows dinner. Very good food, especially the pizzas and the pasta dishes. enjoyed ambiance, clean and happy
Great restaurant for casual good Italian
food. One of our favorite after theater
Great location to Broadway shows, friendly and attentive staff, great food!
Everything was wonderful. Food, speed of service, staff is all wonderful. We go there any time we are visiting the city.
Wonderful as always !!
Cesar salad was wilted. Bolognese was good. Franchise was good. Bread was not good. Service was good. Good location.
Our always go to spot before the theatre - service was incredible as usual, but the food was just ok this time. I won’t give up and we will be back.
We enjoyed the food very much & the service was excellent!!
Street smells were somewhat offensive. If the doors were closed it would have been an even better experience. Service workers were excellent.
My husband and I were going into the city for the first time since the pandemic, so we weren’t sure what to expect. We chose this restaurant based off of proximity to the theater and it’s rating. Definitely not disappointed. They were busy and probably like every where else, working on minimal staffing so that caused service to be a little slow, but the servers made up for it in their friendliness and attentiveness. Once our orders were in, it didn’t take longer than expected to get our meal. I had the shrimp parmigiana, which I almost never get because I am particular with my seafood, but it surpassed my expectations. At first I thought they mixed up and gave me chicken because the shrimp were so larger and butterflied so they were thin. They were cooked to perfection and the sauce was perfect too. It was a bit garlicky, but for me that’s a + and it wasn’t so garlicky that it was overpowering. Then it was smothered but just the right amount of mozzarella. Surprisingly, which it shouldn’t have been since the menu did state it, it came with veggies and potatoes instead of pasta which was actually a nice change since the pasta just fills me up and I already struggled to eat 2 of the shrimp. My husband got a baked pasta dish of some sorts that had rigatoni with ground meat and sauce with a touch of cream that was baked in a skillet with mozzarella on top. He devoured his and finished off my shrimp. All and all, we were impressed and would definitely return when we go to the City again.
Perfect Italian restaurant in the heart of the city.
We went for bottomless brunch. Bellinis were excellent. We ordered off dinner menu. My chicken was really great as was my friend’s. Will be back
Everything was delicious. You have to get the Daniela's garlic bread! I highly recommend it for garlic lovers and loved having some veggies on it. My fettuccine al pesto was good as well. It was a perfect location before going to a Broadway show. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
Daniela’s was everything we hoped it would be! The food was very good, the service attentive, the staff friendly, and the restaurant itself was casual, and clean. We will definitely return.
Great food and great service!
I have been to Daniela's several times throughout the years, and have never had a bad experience in service or food. This visit was during lunchtime, and the restaurant was incredibly comfortable as far as patrons were concerned. Several of us were reuniting for the first time in years, and the management made sure we were not rushed out and comfortable. Looking forward to going back again!
Really loved the food, and the wine. The place has nice ambience, too. This is silly, but I don’t like overly attentive servers. I always feel rushed to get out faster. I too better and savor more when I can take my time. Other than that, the experience was perfect!
Daniela has become our go-to restaurant before/after shows. Food and service are always great and you know you’re going to get out on time if dining pre-show. Sangria is great!
Servers were very attentive with our unlimited brunch drink special refills and were kind enough to celebrate a birthday briefly mentioned in an open table reservation without the slightest reminder! Thank you so much for making us feel welcomed and celebrated.
Awesome place. Been many times.
This is a surprisingly good restaurant for the theater district and a nice place to have dinner whether or not there is a show on. Ate there today for the first time in a while and noticed the prices seemed higher but the food is still good.
Went to eat but nobody informed us the restaurant had closed early even with making reservations
Based on what I ordered, (Chris' special), I would not recommend this restaurant. My friend however, ordered a fish dish and it was good. So, I would say, be very discriminating in how you order.
This is a pleasant restaurant with food that was nicely done.
The asssets are the positives attitude of all the wait staff and its proximity to many theaters
Went here for dinner before seeing a show. The staff was very attentive and efficient, and we loved all of our food! The atmosphere is also very cute and personal. We’ll be back again!
Server hated us because we didn’t order drinks. Basically pushed us out.
Chicken parm was very good. Nice and tender. Portion size was just right. I can’t comment on price, every meal in new too expensive.
Unremarkable but competent Italian comfort food. No regrets.
The food was only fair. Disappointed to see that the pricing on the menu was considerably higher than shown on the menu displayed on Open Table. Service was rushed. Seemed that the priority was turning over tables as quickly as possible. Don’t plan to ever return.
Overpriced, but food was good. Convenient to theatre, but save your money - or spend it somewhere a little more off the beaten path.
Excellent food and the service to match. We enjoyed our dinner and the ambiance.
