They were wonderful in making my friend’s 50th a nice celebration with singing and a special dessert!
First time at Daniela's and enjoyed it very much. Interesting ambiance with brick wall on one side and a little cold when someone opened the door to come inside on a night when it was 30F outside. There is an upstairs area which we did not see. Nice big martini to open, very attentive service and food was excellent. I had the black pasta with shrimp and tomatoes and lots of garlic and wife had a different pasta dish, cant recall. The only problem was the food came so fast that we had time to kill before our Broadway show that night. Will definitely return.
Everything was great except the cocktails. They put scotch in my Manhattan. They need to hire a bartender who knows what they’re doing.
Great food in theater district. Nice to have a place with a large party where you can relax and not feel rushed.
We met up with some friends from Miami and we really enjoyed the experience. Food was amazing.
Table too small and right by entrance - way too noisy. Service was superb. Food good.
Food is good. Location is convenient to many of the theaters. On this visit, however, we felt rushed with our meal and the waiter never asked if we wanted one check or two. Both of these facts detracted from our experience.
perfect before theater dining. Something for everyone.
When I called to change our reservation I was told that Daniela’s did not accept reservations from OpenTable.
I would recommend Daniela's but not for my last visit. I was a bit disappointed with my Black Linguine Arabarrata. The shrimp was not tasty at all, almost rubbery. We got there at 4:30 and felt a bit rushed even though there was no one in the restaurant on the upper level. A member of our party didn't like the lasagna;there was no ricotta cheese which was disappointing.
The service was very good though.
I enjoyed the Veal Marsala very much. The chef was very accommodating with my guest's requests. They have been refinishing the restaurant for a while, and I don't like the removal of the original tables. They really need to figure a way to keep the cold out, especially since there's so much room for guests to gather while waiting for tables.
Great food, but rushed service. Too much hustle for a quiet dinner. We plan another visit.
The food was good and experience overall was ok- but the young girl that waited our table had zero interest in us when we stuck with drinking water and ended up splitting our salad and entree. Shouldn’t matter what/how much customers order ($$$), you should be courteous to all.
I had a good experience here. The food was excellent. Smaller portion of calamari. The only thing was that they charged for refills for iced tea, which I thought was a little odd. I don’t think that’s necessary. Otherwise, I got a chicken dish and it was delicious. Good atmosphere, and good service and pretty spacious.
Really cute restaurant and nice set up. Wait staff seemed a bit rushy, but not too the point where it ruined the experience. Will double charge for a soda, but won’t tell you ahead of time so you won’t realize until you get the bill. Other than that no complaints
wonderful food and service, everything came out perfectly, the servers are very professional and the food was delicious, of course they get you out for your 2p matinee, great choice for lunch
Daniela's is in a great location if going to the theater. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way for us.
The price fix is a good value, pre theatre, but limiting to chicken or pasta can be a deal breaker. I ordered the mussels and they were prepared to perfection also, great bread.
Good food and our wait staff team was very attentive and close to the theater !! Next time in NYC would go back
The service was excellent and the entrees were delicious!!! My only complaint was that the bread was stale and I would have preferred an olive oil dip instead of butter.
Well located. Simple menu competently executed at a reasonable price, suitable for larger groups -- if that sounds lukewarm, it's not an easy find in the theatre district.
First time visit, but food was fantastic! Pre-Fix menu had a great selection and very good quality! Food was fantastic and service was AMAZING! Highly recommend. I would visit again!
Very late to be seated. Managing staff seemed disorganized and not very accommodating. Food was ok. My tiramisu was served frozen. The young woman who greeted us was lovely and was doing her best but, I will not return.
Love this place! Their food is always delicious, the wait staff accommodating, not invasive yet always around, and their prices are moderate. They're located right in the heart of the theater district so near most subways and easy to run to the theater if you're a little late. It's my go-to place and I'm a fan.
Cute place for a quick meal before the theater. Great service, fresh food, hot and simple.
Went pretheatre and very pleasantly surprised! Friendly and helpful wait staff, yummy food and good value. Will definitely go again pretheatre!
Everything was very good. Have been
there several times before and know I can count on a good meal. They even brought
me cake and sang Happy Birthday, although
not sure how they knew.
Nice hidden gem in Times Square. Quiet, excellent service and food. You don’t even realize you’re in the middle of all the craziness of Times Square.
2nd time there. Loved the food. A lot less let there, so it was nice and quiet. Definitely would go beck!
Good selection. Very convenient location for Shubert Theater matinee.
Staff really hustled and showed good team effort
Great meal, good size portions and reasonable price for area
Good enough restaurant - well located for theatre. Great fast service. Nice ambiance- good buzz at 7 pm. Empty by 8. Food average and a LOT of butter.
Great place to get dinner before a Broadway show.
This is a busy place in the theatre district. That being said, we expected noise, busy, and high prices. We were not disappointed: it was noisy, busy and overpriced. Although we arrived early (on purpose), and specifically said that we wanted to have our drinks before ordering (we were 4 kids and 4 adults), and NOT be rushed for our meal, we were rushed constantly by the waiters to order, and then, before we could finish our appetizers, our meals were served. Even though we asked them to keep the main course till we finished the appetizer, they kept bringing the dishes back every 2 minutes. Overpriced we expected: but 9 $ for a bottle oh water? And 6$ for VERY small Shirley Temples for the kids (with NO FREE refills you can be sure!). To top it off, they gave us the bill with 20% service charge already included AND a SPACE TO ADD AN ADDITIONAL TIP. The one already included was in VERY small print, I almost added a tip automatically before I realized that there was already a VERY LARGE TIP included. I know, I know, it's New York, and it's the theatre district, but really, a $600 bill for 4 kids and 4 adults with no dessert and only 1 beer each to drink. A little much if you ask me. Oh, the food however (we had calamari, risotto, pizzas, osso buco) WAS good!
Great food. We really enjoyed our dinner here.
We come to Daniella’s often because the food is so good and the location is excellent for theater goers. Although we don’t always avail ourselves of it, the fixed price menu is an exceptional deal. I would recommend that they add a couple more meatless pasta options, but they were very gracious about making my pasta dish without anchovies. Portions are huge, wine choices are great, and service is very attentive. The atmosphere is cozy, and the recent remodeling has enhanced to the warm ambiance. We have never been disappointed here!
Great local eatery. Not fancy, but the food was delicious and DO NOT MISS the Tiramisu, out of this world.
Daniela's was a lovely place to have dinner before going to the theatre. The food and service were great.
Was a fine place. Nothing wrong..... but nothing great either.
I have been to Daneila's for lunch a few times and it was great but going on a Friday night was horrible. We got there early at 5:45 for our 6:15 reservation and they rushed us and were very rude. We were going to an 8pm show so we had time but they kept rushing us, even came back right after we got the check and opened it up and shook it as a joke that it was empty! The food wasn't that great, had chicken parm and it was thin and crisp. The bread tasted stale.
