Angelo Elia Pizza, Wine Bar and Tapas - Oakland Park
Opening Angelo Elia Pizza, Wine Bar and Tapas - Oakland Park was a passion of Chef Angelo Elia for more than eight years. While Casa D'Angelo has been a place for him to showcase his depth of Italian technique, he wanted to create a restaurant that felt more like the simple Italy he visits year after year where ingredients are at the forefront. A place where you could come and sit and pick at food as you want with friends. But it didn't come that easy. Like all things that are simple, careful thought and research has gone into the menu and the guarded sources of our premium ingredients. In the end, D’Angelo is all about friends and a good bottle of wine enjoyed in a contemporary, easy dining atmosphere.

One of my favorite restaurants and this was definitely an off-night. We were seated promptly and the noise level belied the small crowd. Our waitress shouted from one end of the table and only half of our table could hear her recite the evening specials. She literally had to shout to be heard over the noise and it got worse as the evening wore on. The complimentary warm bread was toasted and they only had one basket left. I ordered the grouper and they served me branzino. The server argued and told me I had ordered branzino. By the time we finished dinner no one could sustain the noise long enough for dessert.
It’s still one of my favorites and I’ll go back again. Hoping this was just a bad night.
Enjoyed everything about our visit. Our server was delightful, and did a great job explaining the specials. Had carpaccio and rigatoni Bolognese and both were excellent. We would love to go back.
Always delicious and great service.
Great pizzas. Excellent service. Very understanding of challenge of family dining
Excellent Italian food just like Nonna used to make
This is a great spot for a casual dinner. The food is very good.
Make it a point to come here when we visit from Sarasota. Food is outstanding and never disappoints!
They were out of my favorite sauvignon blanc and there was a hair in my ceaser salad.
Great experience as usual. Only suggestion is to get adjustable table legs; very often table is wobbly and they wedge something under the legs.
Excellent service comme toujours et le chef Giovanni est incroyable.
The food was very good and the waitress was excellent! However, the receptionist service was not good at all. I made a reservation for 8pm. We arrived at 745pm. We were told they had the reservation but we would have to wait. And wait! And wait! After about 40mins later I inquired and was told, there are others waiting too! Well then, why would you take a reservation if you cannot accommodate your customers!
I will find it hard to recommend you all again!
Reserving here is pointless as this place does not respect its own reservation system and by extension its own clients. Walk-in clients are routinely given tables on reserve while those of us who did the reserving are given 30min wait times while waiting for the walk-ins ti finish. We left terribly disappointed and ate elsewhere. Quite simply a lousy experience and will never return.
The chicken parm was awesome! Our server was so nice!
Dont go on a Monday! They have 1/2 price bottled wine - and it’s crazy crowded! Not worth the savings:) We had a rez and still waited a half an hour.
Excellent service and food, very attractive decor with amazing wine selection plus gelato case.
Our reservation was 745p. Not seared until 830p. The restaurant over committed in the reservation department. Pasta was under cooked nor andante and the olive oil was of poor quality.
As always a great dinner. Reasonably priced, excellent quality. A no-brained!
Very crowded for Christmas which was understandable. That was probably the reason for my service rating being low. Have been to this restaurant many times & have always enjoyed it.
Always great food and great service, and the drinks are wonderful as well !
Seafood with sambucca sauce outstanding.
As always the best brunch/ date we could hope for. The staff and food at Elia is absolutely the best I’ve had in many places. It’s always consistent and we are always treated as family. Thank you so much to Mike our server for amazing service.
This continues to be one of our all time favorite restaurants!
Authentic and lovingly prepared Italian dishes combined with attentive service and a good selection of wines. Atmosphere a little noisy inside
Thank you for your five-star review, glad you enjoyed your visit with us!
Evening was great. Giulio our waiter was amazing, knowledgeable, pleasant and attended to all our needs. Food spot on, the meatballs to die for.
Be there again soon.
Great food and service:
Consistently good food!!
I've been going to Angelo Elia for at least 6 years and with Gianni in the Kitchen I just keep going back.
We were 4 on Wednesday and we go especially for the Oysters. Oysters, Zucchini Flowers,
Calamars & Octopus were great. Wish you would keep your wines at double the price other than that we'll be back next Wednesday. Also, Suzanna our waitress does a very Professional job serving us.
We had a reservation and they seated us outside in a tent. With a reservation we should have been seated inside. Hostess used poor judgement. There were tables open in the main dining room.
Food was terrific, and initially came out fast. Then a long time passed between salad and entree, and it was not that busy
Our pizza was undercooked. We told the server and the response was “white pizza should be undercooked to avoid burning”.
We also ordered the branzino special which was very bland and dry. The side of spinach (as presented by the server as a side included with the meal) was not served with the meal, and when I mentioned it to the server she quickly brought the side spinach on a separate plate... but charged us extra for it!
Based on the poor food and the server not sufficiently addressing our complaints, I will never go back nor recommend this restaurant.
The Osso Bucco was delicious and the Veal Milanese with rapini was to perfection. Great job
Our favorite restaurant! Always fresh and delicious, no matter the dish!
Fantastic service and food is outstanding. The perfect environment for a lunch meeting. Thank you!
One of our favorite places. Great drinks, great food, the waiters have been a part of this establishment for years, and all really great. Nice atmosphere, easy and comfortable!
Fabulous food and service!
We are never disappointed at Angelo Elia's...…….We were a party of 6 and not one issue......Food and drinks were served perfectly and each was well made...…..
Outstanding as usual!!One of our favorite restaurant!!
I ordered abpasrw dish off menu on recommendation of waiter. It was overdone and tasteless. First time we have had a negative experience
Absolutely the best Chef and actually everyone that works there!
The food is phenomenal...... love this place!!!!
I love this restaurant. It is our neighborhood favorite, and we are lucky to have it. We go here about once a week. The wait staff is terrific, and the food is excellent, with quality ingredients and creative specials. The pizza is the best in town. On Mondays, all the wine is half price!
I often dine here with friends and we all love it. However, one of my dearest friends who I go out with often had a bad experience over Ten years ago and never went back. I decided a return visit was long overdo and she agreed that she is always open to Second chances. On our way there I told her that I think the best cosmopolitans I’ve ever had are served at Angelo’s. On that note we started with same and I am happy to say she thought so as well. After sharing a Burrata starter we went on to order our mains which my friend claimed she had no room for. I did not detect a dog in the vicinity but when I looked up her plate it was clean. Seems she had room after all. Her only complaint was that she was driving and could only have One Cosmo. Of course I am very please as now I can dine at Angelo’s more often.
