Great service! Well stocked buffet. Nice fish selections and value if you like fish. Otherwise a bit expensive.
Had friends in from out of town and wanted them to experience this wonderful atmosphere and food. Lovely as usual. Our waiter was attentive and Shelly created an amazing delicious meal.
This is our second visit, and both times we have thoroughly enjoyed the food & service! Excellent meals & atmosphere.
We always enjoy the food, service and atmosphere at the Dancing Bear. This visit was no exception.
It's only been 2 days since we were there and I want to go back NOW! Best dinner I've ever had. Bacon wrapped diver scallops and a Baby beet salad. Hubby had the Fall Salad and a crusted Halibut. Luscious!
Gem of a restaurant in Townsend, TN. The restaurant itself was warm and attractive. Food was unique and modern. They grow most of their own produce and the salads were fresh and delicious. The chief used herbs in a manner that made the flavors of the food interesting. We also had the burger and again, a unique flair. My French press coffee was outstanding. Our server was awesome. Helpful and friendly. This restaurant is a step above the rather ordinary food that one usually gets in this area. I do recommend this restaurant.
The food was ok but definitely not worth the high price.
The brunch was nice, very relaxing ambiance. I would not say it was worth the cost only because of the food. Although the food was delicious, there were not many choices. There were no typical breakfast foods. If you are a picky eater, I would not recommend this place to you. Also, on the brunch page it says bottomless mimosas, but that is no longer the case. We were charged per drink.
I wish the beer selection was more extensive. Kronenbourg 1664 blanc is a suggestion.
Thank you Lila for great service. The food was delicious!
Wonderful service & food
Great fall evening at Dancing Bear for dinner with visiting relatives. Our meals were excellent and the overall experience was super.
We chose this as our special treat as it was our last night in The Smoky Mountains. We were not disappointed. We arrived early before they opened. The staff was super accomodating and let us enjoy a glass (or two) of fabulous wine until the restaurant opened. Everything was outstanding. We highly recommend!
We were promptly seated and then just sat there. Other tables were seated and their server came to their table. My wife had to get up and go ask twice for them to send a server. When he did show up it seems the hostess failed to tell anyone. Once we got started everything was great. it appears they have a high turnover of waitstaff as we heard several saying they were new or working with others. I don't know that I fault the restaurant as this is becoming a large issue at many of the area, just be prepared that it may not be the service level you would expect from a place like this. Overall the food was great and the service was good.
Probably very good for a food critic, but just not for me.
It is well worth the 30 minute scenic drive from Pigeon Forge to dine at The Dancing Bear. Upon arrival you know that it is going to be something special. First of all the architect, builder and designer all deserve awards because it looks as if there restaurant was always meant to be there, it is extremely welcoming when you walk in the door. As a builder of high end lake homes for years, it takes craftsmanship to impress me.
So on to dinner. The staff very professional, our server even brought us an extra appetizer to sample and the menu choices all looked delicious. Wine choices were very good. I had the Appalachian Hot Pot which was excellent. My trout was perfect and few people get it perfect. Everyone at the table thoroughly enjoyed their meal. After dinner we walked out to a large pavilion that is a perfect wedding venue and cooked smores around a stone fire pit.
I've dined extensively around the US and Europe. Dancing Bear is high in my list.
Best meal I’ve had in the smokies
Rachel was an excellent server. The owners were entertaining as well!
I brought my boyfriend there for his birthday. I think it was one of his favorite gifts. We sat outside under the lights, the service and food was great. My favorites were the Appalachian lunchable and the pumpkin spice bread pudding, but we loved everything. We will definitely be back.
Perhaps the greatest bistro in Tennessee
Dancing Bear Bistro is consistently the BEST place I know of to dine. I live 3 hours away in Nashville and look for every opportunity to visit. Dine outside if the weather permits. Best food, service and ambience in the Smokies! We love it!!! (P.S. Ian may be the best waiter ever!)
My husband and I always come to the area for our Anniversary and this is always the place we choose to have our Anniversary dinner. The setting and ambiance is magical, that’s the only way I know how to describe it. Our server could’ve been new, but she was not very helpful with the menu or offering suggestions for our dietary restrictions. Usually service is pretty good, she was just not up to par for this kind of nicer establishment. My Pork entree was not the best food I’ve had from here, but the Autumn salad was delicious and my husband enjoyed his Hot Pot. Overall, this is the BEST restaurant in the area and we will continue to return even though we had an off evening.
Boys night out/vacation dining. Superb food, drinks and service. This is a beautiful venue in a gorgeous location. Would advise anyone to enjoy this experience!!
Really nice for special occasions, even had a fire with “make your own” s’mores after dinner. Only negative is the signs out front made it hard to find the restaurant.
Such a lovely hidden gem. The Sunday brunch was fantastic and a great way to celebrate my Dad's birthday with family. Will definitely be back.
The dancing Bear is a great brunch option, food was good and service great.
It was a Great evening, and was made even more special by our server “PIPER” ! Her excellent service was only surpassed by her personally!
Went for birthday celebration for myself and my Mom. Was a lovely evening and such a relaxing meal. Could not have been better. Are inside/outside with the windows open. Loved it! Dancing bear never disappoints. Looking forward to next time!
Excellent service. I had some dietary restriction that they graciously accommodated. We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.
Seated promptly. Staff very professional and knowledgeable. Great outdoor seating area. Excellent choices from menu. The mushroom toast appetizer was outstanding. We had the pork cushion, and the elk steak. The elk steak was cooked perfectly and had a nice BlackBerry sauce. The restaurant indicated this was the first time serving elk. I found the elk to be very tasty, but a little tough. First time trying elk, so you will have to decide. I still recommend the elk.
Very nice brunch, we will go again soon
A fabulous meal in a lovely setting with good friends from Townsend. I am always pleased by the food and service. From the appetizers to dessert, the meal was outstanding!
Had a reservation was seated immediately on arrival. Great service. Ate outside pleasant atmosphere.
Great evening with friends. Wonderful food and wine.
Excellent food and service.
Made reservations on a Saturday evening at 7:15p for four adults. The restaurant wasn't necessarily busy, particularly for a Saturday. Although there was a wedding and reception occurring in the outside venue. We sat on the patio which gave a nice ambiance. The location and decor was great! Unfortunately, that's where it went downhill. Drinks from the bar had undue delays and the waiter was scarce when needed. The food, also took along period of time to arrive and when it did so, some items failed to have been entered for preparation. Thus, we got most of our meal. The food was just OK. The manager arrived at the end of our meal and tried to rectify our displeasure with the forgotten food and last round of drinks by offering a free desert. Although none of us intended of ordering desert we felt obliged to except. Again, we had to wait a long period of time which made the gesture a moot point. I suggest if your going to have entrees priced in the 30-$50 range you should expect a higher level of service. I would recommend a visit if in the area but wouldn't make a regular stop.
Chef shelly always exceeds all expectations. Her passion and creativity are above any one ive ever seen. Dan the manager is most attentive to your every need. Very impresssive staff.
Ideal for special occasions. Excellent food and service. Menu has plenty of variety for selection of food option.
Perfect for special occasions! Food is always amazing.
Dancing Bear is frequent destination for birthday and anniversary celebrations. Great food and environment in a laid back casual atmosphere.
