We hope you join us soon!
Good was hit or miss by plate. Both meat orders were just ok. Raviolis were awesome
Strange experience. Went for Sunday brunch. The restaurant was almost empty, but it still took one hour for the food to arrive - about 45 minutes after we ordered. It took nearly 15 minutes for the waiter to even come greet us at the table. Patrons who were seated after us and ordered after us were served before we were. The waiter was not attentive and had very poor - almost nonexistent - communication skills. Unfortunately, the quality of the food matched the poor customer service experience. Only one order out of four was good and that was because that order was the basic pancakes. Both the eggs and Canadian bacon were overcooked and almost leathery on the other orders. Overall, a very disappointing experience. There are many other good brunch places in the Danville area. Avoid Dana's Sunday brunches!
We sat on the patio on a lovely early autumn day. Numerous umbrellas provided sufficient shade. Service was great and not rushed, yet responsive when we were ready to get the check. We each had the open face crab sandwich which was delicious. Our waiter offered to refill our sodas twice! Great service. Would return. And would recommend!
The Shrimp salad with grilled avocado, mango and the chili lime sauce was delicious. The pineapple upside down cake brought me back to the deliciousness I remember in that cake when I had it in my youth.
Dana’s is our weekend go to. Great menu with a great mix. Love this restaurant.
Seated right away. Waitress very friendly and knowledgeable. Had Lamb Shank waitress suggested which I enjoyed as a substitute for Bone in Pork Chop which they ran out of. Wednesday they waive corkage fee. Had a great Zin.
It took over an hour to get our meals the restaurant was not even busy. Also, the bill was not correct. Bad experience.
The service was excellent. The ambiance was very nice. The food was average, could have used more spices to improve the bland flavor. The onion soup was also rather bland - not as rich a broth as I have had elsewhere.
For some reason I always have digestive issues following a meal here. Seems like MSG or overuse of garlic seasoning - not sure, but I don’t have this issue at most restaurants.
Food not as good as in the past. Don’t know if they changed chefs but too much sauce on food which overpowered it.
I ordered the two lobster tails and told the waiter I do not want them over-cooked. When it was served I noticed the two looked very different. One was great but the other buried one looked like a return. Definitely over-cooked and suer tuff. I told the waiter and he agreed and just said sorry. It was definitely not worth it.
We ate outside and it was very pleasant. Alfonso was our waiter and he was very tentative.
My friend and I like Dana's a lot. We have been there a several times together. Last time and this time also we were served red wine that was MUCH too warm for a red wine (a Rutherford Cabernet). We were surprised for a second time that the red wine was not served at an appropriate temperature.
Our server was polite, not very attentive, and was wearing way too much cologne (Alfonso).
Always good food and excellent service. We ate outside because the weather was so nice. The only problem was an inconsiderate person who kept his car running the whole time in a parking space a few feet away from our table.
Generally speaking the food was pretty good. Nobody was in the restaurant and I cannot understand why. Service was not very good since the waiter had no idea how to explain anything on the menu.
I had not been to Dana's in awhile and definitely will go back. Our lunch was delicious and excellent service.
The petrole sole dinner was amazing ! We love Dana’s
DH and I felt like going somewhere that serves upscale food in an elegant atmosphere without having to shout just to hear across the table. We've been to Dana's before and thought it would be a good choice. With their tall, upholstered booths and the small size of the place, the noise level remains reasonable even with their open kitchen on a busy night. We could actually hear the lyrics and melody of the music playing instead of just the faint thump of the bass. Sorry about my rant, but I've gotten so tired of the cavernous wood and metal aesthetic with acoustics designed for torture that so many new "it" places seem to have (Danville Brewery, e.g.). Dana's was refreshing. Granted it wasn't that busy, but considering it was a Tuesday night, they had a fair number of customers. Not surprising considering the food is consistently good and the service is attentive. I had the filet of sole (served piping hot) and DH had the eggplant (generous serving!). We split the lemon ricotta ravioli as an appetizer and the cheesecake for dessert. We each had a cocktail. Very nice waitress and good busser who kept our waters filled. Glad we chose Dana's.
Service and food were superb.
Love this place. Quiet, great staff and food is wonderful!
Went in for dinner at 7:30pm on a Saturday night and by 8:30 were one of only 2 tables left. The customers seemed to fit squarely into the "retirement age" bracket throughout the night. Our group of 5 had mixed reviews on the food, but most of what came with my Ribeye was still cold when it arrived (5-10 mins after the rest of the meals).
The one bright spot: Our server was an absolute gem; funny, attentive, and not overbearing.
Overall, not an experience I'd wish to repeat. Some work needs to happen in the kitchen to bring this place back to life.
Great food and great people. Good for foodies. Great full bar also!
Husband and I had a “date night!” Food was awesome! Service was great! Overall it was a perfect evening to sit outside and enjoy the awesome weather we are having!
Dana’s has a great location in a quiet tree lined area and has recently installed booths outdoors for our more comfortable dining this visit. Food was excellent as always, and Henri provided excellent service.
Father’s Day dinner on the patio. Always good! We dine here often.
We have dined at Dana's often, but last time it was a major disappointment. The filet of sole used to be good, this time it was overly battered, not fresh, and over cooked. The salmon was dry and sub par. The spinach fettuccini sauce was not adequately distributed throughout the pasta itself, instead it surrounded the pasta like a moat around the island of pasta. We sat outside, but they were blaring the television sound from the bar through the speakers. And to top it all off, they trundled a garbage can through the dining room and outside dining area during the height of dinner time!
Lots of great new appetizer options. Staff is very accommodating.
Great service! Food was excellent. Wine tasting event and music made this special.
I've eaten at Dana's four times and it is always a good experience. The service is always
good and this time it was exceptional. Dory was our server.
First time here but plan to go again due to great service, delicious food and reasonable prices. It was a lovely night so we sat outside which was delightful.
Enjoyed our lunch at Dana’s. The Food was great! I had the Fritto Misto Salad , tasty Monterey Calamari with cashews, cilantro, carrots in a lovely chili ginger vinaigrette & Aleppo Aioli. It was wonderful!
My friend had the Blackened Ahi Tuna Steak Salad. It looked beautiful & tasted fantastic! Highly recommend these items.
We love going to Dana's. It is privately owned and has a wonderful neighborhood feel. The owner can be seen walking around and nodding politely not wanting to interrupt our dining experience. It's casual but elegant with white table clothes. The staff is friendly and will greet you with "welcome back" when you arrive if you are a regular. The dining area has been upgraded to include some very nice booths. They also have outdoor dining with booths. I had the Petrale sole which was perfectly done in a lemon butter sauces, creamy mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetable. One of our guests had the Neiman Ranch pork chop and he raved about it. Their Caesar salad has a homemade dressing that is garlicky and tangy...yummy. The prices are reasonable for the high quality of the food and lovely ambiance. They also have a bar area that is fun to sit and dine in. All in all, it has become one of our favorite go-to restaurants for friends and family.
Service very slow with an almost empty dining room. Had to asking for our requests such as ketchup, more tea, etc.
We have always enjoyed going here and love many of the dishes including the salmon, filet, steak salad and sole. On this trip, we arrived at 7pm with reservations (on Mother's Day) and were seated at 7:40pm. We left at 9:50pm. The restaurant was overwhelmed (I guess for the holiday) and the kitchen was amazingly slow, and there was a lot of tension -- we saw many upset guests.........also, they were out of salmon, filet and had only 1 order of scallops (we ordered 2). When we were served, the sole and chicken were really good -- the scallops were overcooked and the ribeye (substituted for the filet) was average. The crab louie was generally good, but all of their salads use iceberg lettuce -- they should mix it up. We were provided a bottle of wine for free and our server Robin was great, and kept us posted on the ongoing challenges. We hope they figure out the issues, as we generally enjoy going here. The manager was not overly sympathetic.
Wait for main entree was 45 minutes and 2 of us just had salads with salmon and steak. Salad was terrible and steak was burned. I understand it was a busy night since it was Mother’s Day but it was under staffed
We will not be back.
3rd time and won’t go back
Reserved and showed up at 5:30 for dinner on Mother’s Day and hoped to best the crowd- ended up waiting 1.5 hours before getting our meals and only after I had to go to the kitchen and push the chef and waitress; and many other patrons were also complaining- 3rd time this has happened- waitress kept apologizing - will never go back nor recommend to friends at my country club
Mother’s Day brunch. Out of food, bad quality, overpriced
