D'Amico's Italian Market Cafe - Rice Village
We have eaten at D'Amico's many times and have enjoyed our experience there every time. The food is AMAZING and the atmosphere is relaxing. Love, Love, Love!! Highly recommend!!
Very noisy and cramped, but tasty food and service made up for it.
Waitress was a clueless Millennial, who did not know the menu or the specials and didn't much care. I had the chicken Caesar salad. Chicken was cooked dry; the anchovy in the Caesar dressing was so strong that I could not eat it. My date was so disappointed with the side house salad to her entree that she pushed it aside. I scraped the chicken chips off of my salad and put it on her house salad, so that I'd have something to eat. The bread was good.
The place has expanded since I was here last. But the service and the food was great, as usual! The tiramisu is THE BEST!
Nice ambiance, cozy. Wait staff was attentive to our needs, and we never rain out of drink or food. We were there for lunch and ordered off the lunch menu. The food servings were perfect for lunch, not too much, and not too little. The dishes had good flavor, and would definitely compare it to good old fashion home cooking. Loved it.
Peter was fantastic. Food was delicious!
Great Italian food. Very nice ambiance
Easy parking for Rice Village in Garage right behind with no fees under 2 hours.
Service was incredibly slow and the food was not worth the price. Food was mediocre at best and not worth how much I paid for it
One of my top "go-to" places in Houston. Service impeccable. Food is outstanding AND consistent. N O surprises. I'm there for lunch or dinner at least once a month.
Love sitting outside with our puppy!!
They give you lots of bread while you're waiting for your entrees and are not as stingy as some other Italian restaurants. I had the Risotto di Gamberi which all the flavors were there, although the rice was under cooked. The inside of the rice was hard and since we were in a hurry, I didn't have time to ask them to remake it or anything like that. Although everything else was really good.
Casual Rice Village spot with nice patio. Good food service, and value.
We always enjoy D’Amico’s whenever we’re in Houston! The veal ravioli is the best in the U.S. and I have eaten at hundreds of great Italian spots....no comparison! Waiters are friendly and timely with very good wine selection. Be sure to top it off with fresh made gelato 👍🏼
All was great except upon entering there was no hostess for quite a while. probably between 5-10 minutes. A waiter came over twice and said she was coming.
D'Amico's was lovely. We had an outdoor table, which in Spring is always relaxing and fun. There was a cool breeze flowing, and we enjoyed a bottle of their house wine along with three lovely meals. They are accommodating with gluten-free options, which is a huge plus for anyone like me who has medical requirements to eliminate gluten from my diet. The GF noodles were cooked to perfection, and the sauce was delectable. The other two parties had the lasagne, which was also quite good. The waiter was well-informed on all of my options, which was very much appreciated.
One down side: parking in the area (new meters) is difficult, at best. One must download an app in order to pay, and it is a real pain to do so. We found the parking garage at the last minute, after a meter manager (some guy that pounces on you if you don't get the app downloaded immediately) came up to our car to let us know that we must pay immediately or move. Had we not been meeting friends, we would have left the area, as we were so mad about the harassment! The parking garage works well, but I imagine it must get full quite quickly. There must be other solutions to managing the new meter system. Unless you're a local and have the app already, it is more trouble than it is worth!
Always impresses our first time guests!
Not a complete bar. Nice wines but limited liquor selection. Will return.
Service is always excellant, food is served hot and tasty. The wine selection is good and fairly priced. We visit every trip to MD Anderson.
Issac was wonderful
Great service, great food! We will return. The waiters have been there a long time and they are pros!
Cute Italian cafe with outdoor space. Lunch special choice of 3 items changing daily til 2pm for $8.99 was perfect for lunch. I liked the polenta cannelloni and stuffed portobello mushroom.
My Granddaughter and I went here before the theater. She had eaten here before and loved the food. She was right. It was delicious homemade Italian food. The server was friendly and prompt. The drinks were delicious, definitely not watered down. The crab claw appetizer was fantastic. Salad wasn't anything special and I thought it was pricey for what you got. I hope to go again because there are so many things I want to try.
Great food. Great service. No problem accommodating a party of 8. Love that I could make a reservation for lunch and make it on-line.
Nice restaurant in a good area of town. When ordering try sticking to simple items. Please don't order any type of ravioli items. The filling is dry and old tasting. Bread was cold also.
Came for dinner with another couple. Everything was perfect...food, drinks, service, ambiance. Enjoyed our evening there.
Overall, D'Amoco's has been around for a long time. The service was outstanding, the ambiance is casual and family friendly, however, the food was fresh, but I would not return for the food. It was very mediocre, and under seasoned. I had the Penne Asparagus, and my pasta was cold, but the sauce was hot and tasted like it came from a can. My husband had Lasagna, and was just ok. My son ordered an individual pepperoni pizza, and only ate half of the pie. It was a less than crave worthy experience as far as food goes.
My parents came to town and wanted authentic Italian, so of course we went to D’Amico’s. Always a great time with tasty food, friendly wait staff, and an awesome atmosphere. Every experience at D’Amico’s is wonderful!
We appreciate D'Amico's consistent high quality food and warm, friendly service.
Great experience! Friendly service and terrific Italian cuisine.
Cute restaurant -went for a ladies' lunch. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered especially the chocolate gelato!
Always consistently very good!
We enjoyed our date night in a comfortable, clean, casual, pleasant environment. Our server, Alan, was attentive, congenial, informed and efficient. We opted to dine outdoors on a beautiful Texas evening. Thank you
This was our first time and we will be back. Try the poblano peppers stuffed with shrimp and crab. An awesome combination.
I’ve been eating here for 35 yrs. it’s our neighborhood Italian. It’s steady, reliable, many of the same wait staff. The food is satisfying and good - it won’t blow your socks off, but you get a lot for your money. Fun, easy atmosphere - mostly families. It’s one of our favorites.
I have dined here many times and I have never been disappointed. Their homemade pasta menu, although limited, is very good - but don't worry, there are plenty of other dishes prepared with non homemade pasta that are fantastic.
I always come back to D'Amico's. I always get great service and great food.
We had a fun time and ate yummy food!
As always, everything was perfect. Impeccable service outstanding food.
