D'Amico's Italian Market Cafe - Rice Village Ratings and Reviews
D'Amico's is always delicious and an extreme value, especially at lunch. For less than $9, enjoy three healthy and authentic choices from the steam table, featuring salad, Italian specialties, meat, pasta, fish, veggies and desserts. Or, order from the awesome Lunch Menu. You won't find a better deal anywhere.
Discover a warm welcome, fresh and plentiful Slow Dough sourdough bread on the table. House-branded olive oil that is divine and flavorful. Friendly and comfortable setting, and if you are lucky, a visit with the hospitable owner.
I wish I lived next door.
We had reservations and the table was ready when we arrived. The waitstaff were pleasant and well-informed about the menu. The food was very good and there was a LOT of it!
My only negative is that they have a full bar and I ordered a cocktail. They didn't have the particular liquor that I wanted. The waitress had to interrupt the bartender to ask him about what was available and he acted as though he couldn't be bothered. He never offered anything else as a substitute. I just told her to forget it and ordered iced tea.
It may seem like a small thing, but there are too many other Italian restaurants in Houston of similar quality where that would not be an issue. We enjoyed the food but decided we would not return.
Terrible. I made a reservation and they would not honor it! Because “their hostess left and she didn’t tell them about my reservation.” Really? I made my reservation on Open Table. Not with their hostess. They have no backup plan when their hostess leaves other than to turn people away that have reservations? Used to like this place, but will never go again.
This was our first time at D’amico’s. We were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately it was a disappointment. The restaurant was not crowded. The waiter, when he finally stopped over, seemed annoyed that we wanted wine. A second glass might have been nice, but we never saw him again once the food was dropped off. The dinner was okay. But nothing that we couldn’t find at our usual stomping grounds. Not sure we’ll be back any time soon.
My dinner was a bit off tonight but still very good. My biggest issue is the noise. I have dinner out for social reasons but when its that noisy its not fun. Also there is always issues with parking. It is common for the gates to not work and let you out. During this stay it was closed stating FULL. BUt soon as there was a shift change, the signs came down. Clearly they just did not want to deal with it until shift change.
Eclectic little Italian eatery in the middle of Rice Village. Delicious food (Chicken Braciolentini was to die for), excellent selection of spirits and wine, and great service. Wouldn’t hesitate recommending this place to my family and friends, and will certainly return.
Service was very slow even though it was almost empty when we arrived. Wait staff was very friendly, just wish they were more attentive. Took 45 minutes to get appetizer, another 25 minutes for salad, had to ask for entrees. Food was well worth the wait. Several other tables that came way after us were served and completed service while we waited for entrees.
We ate at D'amicos for a friends birthday, and we really loved it. We were late for our reservation, but the restaurant was happy to accommodate anyway. The wine was very good, the food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was incredibly cozy. It was quite noisy, but nothing that couldn't be dealt with. The food, ambiance, and service were all top notch. A Houston gem!
