Dallas BBQ - Upper East Side Ratings and Reviews
I have been a patron at this BBQ location for several months and I have always received great service from the servers there. However, this time around I was highly upset. First, my reservations was not being accommodated because they stated that the establishment too busy to take my reservation and that I would have to wait over 20 minutes. Next, after receiving our drinks, it took nearly 45 minutes before the server came back to take our food order. The server never came back to ask us how we were doing and we had to flag him down to place our food order, and to receive our bill. Also, gratuity was automatically added to our bill when it was a party of only two people. I will reconsider going to this restaurant.
We had reservations thru open table and made it inside, but was refused seating and service by the manager, who spent ten minutes explaining that the kitchen was closing although open table showed availability up to 11:30 and our reservation was at 11:00 and we arrived at 11:08!!!... we're visiting from Atlanta Georgia after being gone from NY for 5 years!!! We made a Special Trip to BBQ's because that's where we met and now we're Married!!! The manager made Absolutely No Efforts to Accommodate!!!
Came for the early bird before seeing a broadway show. $13.95 for two is a great deal. 1/2 chicken, corn bread, salad and soup. The waiter did fail to offer us dressing for the salads and bring some extra napkins, which has always been our experience in the past. Overall, was very good and very inexpensive.
First our appetizers never came my moms drink was not frozen just watery and the staff seamed to bizzy to tend to our table it was my brothers birthday they didn't sing after we let them kno they just shoved old cupcakes in my bag last time I go to bbqs ....
Great food. I reserved online and got seated in 1 minute which beat the door 20 minute wait time, waiter was effective and attentive. The only downside....the outer room was FREEZING. We were seated by the neon sign and outer door area and the draft on a night where it was 13 degrees out was horrible. There should be a heater in that area!
I made my opentable reservation, got there a few min early and was told that they were not honoring reservations because it was a weekend and it would be a 30-45 min wait. This is unacceptable. If the system allows a reservation they should not add a significant wait time once you arrive.
Food was not good. Ordered boneless wing. They were dark meat and fatty. Not even eatable. The waiter was nice enough to remove it from the bill. When passing the kitchen on the way to the bathroom you could see how unkept it was. One of the toilets in the women's bathroom didn't even have a toilet seat. Would not recommend it.. and won't be going back.
Dallas BBQ's is a regular stop for me and the kids, but this time the food was horrible. My daugthers ordered the BBQ chicken & shrimp platter with the yellow rice. The rice was clumped together, cold, and smelled horrible; like they scraped the bottom of the pot and didn't care how the food looked, smelled, or taste. I brought it to our waiter and he quickly replaced the old rice with a new bowl of yellow rice that wasn't that much better. Even their famous corn bread was dry and cold. Not even the butter would melt.
I have been to this bbq several times over the course of year. this time I went for dinner after my daughter dedication as I was coming with a large groups and at least 4 children under the age or 4. The waiter was very patient and accommodating. The service was good and quick. I enjoyed my dinner and had not complaints.
