Dale Street Bistro Ratings and Reviews
We scheduled a date night finally and went to see a show at the Fine Arts Center. Just a short walk from the venue, Dales Bistro was a cozy place to enjoy a good meal at a reasonable price. The wine list is simple and affordable. I would definitely go there the next time I am at the Fine Art Center
I took my wife out to dinner here. I never even thought about the expectation for this place. I took a chance to hopefully provide with a dinner and some tradition around the name. Long behold this place became an instant hit. The quietness of the restaurant. The cleanliness it carried along with multiple artifacts and paintings on the wall. The food... oh yes the food. Very fresh and appetizing. Everything we order was not greasy or had any reason to question its perfection. People may call it a hole in the wall, but I call peace and joyful food. Thank you Dale St. Bistro for the fabulous experience. See you soon
Given we wanted to avoid the chain restaurant options, dinner was worth having there but nothing special. Wide variety of entrees including several vegetarian options. Noted that they mentioned having GF bread available. Prices for entrees are in $12-$20 range, reasonable. Lots of standard preparations, not many innovations. Tried the Vegetable Wellington as others recommended this. It was a rather soggy pastry crust on top of vegetables. Parmesan trout was good, but this was a tiny trout. Wine list is limited. I would give recommendation as there aren't many other places around and prices are reasonable, but I don't think we will return.
Close to Colorado College campus.
I was at the Dale Street Bistro with a large group of family members for a Sunday brunch. We got there at 11:00 and, though they don't have a brunch menu per se, the waitress gave us both the breakfast and the lunch menus so we would have a choice.
We had 9 people in our party, and the restaurant is fairly small, with only a couple of waitresses working that morning. They were wonderful - very cheerful, helpful in getting us what we needed (even made 2 fresh pots of coffee to satisfy the coffee drinkers). Both menus offered very good choices, but everyone in our group went with the breakfast menu. Everything we ordered was very good and was made even more enjoyable by the excellent service.
Family owned quaint beautiful Victorian house restaurant located in a great neighborhood to walk around after dinner just to admire all the gorgeous homes. The menu had a good variety of dishes and each dish is prepared with an exotic flair. Wish we hadn't gotten to the restaurant near closing time so we could have enjoyed the food and atmosphere longer.
My husband and I recently moved to Colorado Springs and have been looking for restaurants that offer more than one or two vegetarian options. Dale Street Bistro had many vegetarian options to choose from, and all of them looked delicious. My husband ordered the Vegetable Wellington and loved it. We will definitely be back to try the other options as well. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable.
I love this place. The food, price, and service are spectacular. I can't wait to try it for lunch and dinner. I had the veggie eggs Benedict, which they serve on homemade bread, and it was delicious.
It is a two story home that has been converted into a restaurant. There is seating on both floors, on the patio outside, and an indoor patio. The art is done by Colorado artists. If you are like me and tired of the chains, this is a good stop.
First-time diners. Pleasant, quiet location, which makes it a nice choice for a dinner where you can carry on a conversation. Outdoor dining is available and the cocktails are very reasonably priced. Vegetable Wellington was good and an unusual menu choice. Shrimp Primavera was tasty, a bit salty, but a nice serving of jumbo shrimp.
We walked over from the Fine Arts Center parking lot. It is in a charming old house. The waitress met us and immediately ushered us to a table on the porch. It was very pleasant with the door open. The food was outstanding. I had the german dish and my husband had an italian dish. The desserts were to die for and the drinks were reasonably priced.
Went there for Valentine's Dinner. Thought it was odd that the prices were slightly inflated for the occasion but they threw in a dessert at no extra charge. The pork shanks were spectacular as was the chicken cordonbleu. Seating is kind of close so it was a bit distracting in that respect. I don't know if they didn't have a lot of servers or what but the service times were a little slow, it took 10 minutes for them to bring me a canned drink and a glass of ice. Will definitely go back though
The good: the food was good, not amazing, but not much to fault here. The price was very reasonable for a three course meal. I would say that the desserts were the star.
The bad: strange atmosphere (it's an old house but not well converted for a restaurant), quarters is to confined and close it feels like everyone can hear your conversation even with the music on in the background, the wait staff was very inexperienced - they made a good effort but almost tried too hard, making it feel awkward. The photos, description, and review made this seem like an elegant-ish setting, but it was certainly not that. Though I think that it was they were aiming for.
The most disappointing meal in recent memory. I'm honestly not sure how this place can make it. I ordered the steak special and ended up taking it home to my dog. The dog was appreciative, but one doesn't expect a $20 entree to be unfit for human consumption. The service was good, but the food was terrible. The potato was several hours old, or poorly prepared. The "seasonal vegetables" were certainly previously frozen and tasted like plastic. A previous reviewer commented that the wine list was good. The latter couldn't be the furthest from the truth. Most discount grocery stores have a better wine selection.
Just a wonderful little place to have an intimate dinner. It is in an old house and we sat out in the front room. Service was perfect and food was so good. From the jaegerschnitzel to the Wild at Heart Pasta everything was very well done. The wine list is small but good and the dessert - a sea salt carmel cheesecake - was worth the entire trip. If you are in The Springs it well worth leaving the chains and getting to this local gem.
It was a lovely, warm, sunny day and I met my friend Lucy for lunch! She had never been to the Dale St. Bistro before and I wanted her to try it. We were able to sit outside which was just perfect. Our server was timely and efficient. We ordered and chatted, enjoying the local and the day. Before we knew it our lunch had arrived. My curry chicken salad was yummy and Lucy enjoyed the chicken teriyaki salad. She was so pleased to find and such a cute, lovely new place to dine! Thanks again Dale Street Bistro!
