Portions small and expensive. Salad not included in meal prices. Bland food.
Great experience. Friendly staff, good food, reasonable price.
Love them for lunch and now a fan for dinner! Happy greeter, server was great and staff was very attentive and the food was good. It was a nice Valentines date night.
We loved the atmosphere and the quiet. Most restaurants these days are so noisy that you can't even chat and be heard. The food was good; the servers gracious. The only thing that bothered me was that they added 20% gratuity probably because we were using a voucher. To me the amount of the gratuity depends on the service. This gives you no option.
A pleasant experience. Food was OK, just not great. I suspect canned chicken and canned mushrooms in their recipes. Not my favorite. I nice quiet restaurant with pleasant service.
Loved the home made bread and the fact that you can still find a restaurant with no TVs in it. We’ll be back!
We love this downtown neighborhood gem, and we're so happy we live just a few short blocks away! It's great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and is perfect for combining with a show at the FAC or Pikes Peak Center.
Our dinner was very good, the service was excellent, and the ambiance very warm ... overall, a very nice restaurant.
Very nice. Good food. Service friendly, but a touch slow.
I made my reservation when plenty of spots were open and requested seating by the fireplace on a cold day. When we arrived there was no mention of my request and we were seated near an exterior door that kept opening and closing and it was cold.My husband didn't like his cream of artichoke soup-said it was bland and his steak was overcooked. My tomato bisque was okay and entree just okay. It was a bit loud and chaotic-and nothing notable to bring us back again.
Remains one of your favorite "neighborhood" locations. Tucked into an old Victorian home, the Bistro offers wonderful meals at prices that will surprise you (READ: much lower than you would expect.) Don't be surprised if the owner stops by your table to ensure you're enjoying evening. Overall a wonderful experience. We especially like to dine here prior to performances at the Fine Arts Center three block away. Go! You'll be delighted.
Reserved a lunch date for December 30th on Open Table. This was part of a Christmas present that included a play at the Fine Arts theater. Upon arrival at the bistro we find a hand written note on the door that said "See you after the 2nd of January. This was very disappointing to say the least. The restaurant should have communicated to Open Table that they would have been closed. Not a good first impression.
We always enjoy our visits to the Dale Street Cafe!!
Dale Street Bistro/Café is always a pleasant place to have a meal.
We love Dale Street Bistro. It is a family owned restaurant and we feel as though these people are OUR family. We dine here every Saturday and will continue as long as they are open. They are the kindest folks on earth and have delicious food!
Wanted a quiet time, alone with my wife, in a cozy, picturesque place. The Dale Street Bistro met the bill. We sat in the sun porch facing the street and enjoyed the warmth, the holiday lights, and the individual service. Quiet and romantic this night made for a wonderful dining experience. Food prepared well, tasty, and accompanied with our favorite wine, enhanced our pleasure. Couldn't have asked for better!
Good for meeting Associates for a business lunch in Colorado Springs
We scheduled a date night finally and went to see a show at the Fine Arts Center. Just a short walk from the venue, Dales Bistro was a cozy place to enjoy a good meal at a reasonable price. The wine list is simple and affordable. I would definitely go there the next time I am at the Fine Art Center
Food is Great! Will come back and enjoy it again!
I took my wife out to dinner here. I never even thought about the expectation for this place. I took a chance to hopefully provide with a dinner and some tradition around the name. Long behold this place became an instant hit. The quietness of the restaurant. The cleanliness it carried along with multiple artifacts and paintings on the wall. The food... oh yes the food. Very fresh and appetizing. Everything we order was not greasy or had any reason to question its perfection. People may call it a hole in the wall, but I call peace and joyful food. Thank you Dale St. Bistro for the fabulous experience. See you soon
Wonderful food and service. A truly delightful evening.
This is such a cute place. A very broad selection on the menu, good prices, great costs on wine and very friendly service. I wish I lived closer so I could attend more often!
Food was ok, not my favorite, quite out of the way place.
Great experience! Did not know this place existed-glad my wife made the reservation and was able to share with some great friends!
Given we wanted to avoid the chain restaurant options, dinner was worth having there but nothing special. Wide variety of entrees including several vegetarian options. Noted that they mentioned having GF bread available. Prices for entrees are in $12-$20 range, reasonable. Lots of standard preparations, not many innovations. Tried the Vegetable Wellington as others recommended this. It was a rather soggy pastry crust on top of vegetables. Parmesan trout was good, but this was a tiny trout. Wine list is limited. I would give recommendation as there aren't many other places around and prices are reasonable, but I don't think we will return.
Close to Colorado College campus.
First time coming here. I'm ashamed that I haven't been there before because it was really good. Very happy that I found this place.
I was at the Dale Street Bistro with a large group of family members for a Sunday brunch. We got there at 11:00 and, though they don't have a brunch menu per se, the waitress gave us both the breakfast and the lunch menus so we would have a choice.
We had 9 people in our party, and the restaurant is fairly small, with only a couple of waitresses working that morning. They were wonderful - very cheerful, helpful in getting us what we needed (even made 2 fresh pots of coffee to satisfy the coffee drinkers). Both menus offered very good choices, but everyone in our group went with the breakfast menu. Everything we ordered was very good and was made even more enjoyable by the excellent service.
Restaurant is a cute Victorian home, food and service was good. Wine selection was very limited and there was only one other guest there when we were there (Tues 5-6:30). That uncomfortably quiet.
Family owned quaint beautiful Victorian house restaurant located in a great neighborhood to walk around after dinner just to admire all the gorgeous homes. The menu had a good variety of dishes and each dish is prepared with an exotic flair. Wish we hadn't gotten to the restaurant near closing time so we could have enjoyed the food and atmosphere longer.
My husband and I recently moved to Colorado Springs and have been looking for restaurants that offer more than one or two vegetarian options. Dale Street Bistro had many vegetarian options to choose from, and all of them looked delicious. My husband ordered the Vegetable Wellington and loved it. We will definitely be back to try the other options as well. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable.
Reluctant to recommend it because then more people will find out about it. Always good food and service.
Food was excellent and service was great. Easy to get to, menu was just right.
A quaint place with amazing food. We had four different plates and each were delicious.
Our small group had a great time here - delicious food and Colorado Springs local flavor. Our server seemed a bit grumpy but that didn't get in the way of a wonderful visit.
Was a great meal for all three people in our party. Service was great! Food was very raspy. We're still talking about the fresh baked bread. Very friendly staff. We'll be going back soon.
Wonderful food and service in an authentic older home. Exceptional value.
We had an excellent dinner. The vegetarian Wellington was not only unique but was delicious. In an old house on the Old North Side, the bistro has a charming and relaxed atmosphere with an attentive staff
Very good dinner. The Cesar salad and the key lime pie were stupendous! The entrees were ok. We had the shrimp Louisa and the jagerschitnsel.
Always have a great meal
I love this place. The food, price, and service are spectacular. I can't wait to try it for lunch and dinner. I had the veggie eggs Benedict, which they serve on homemade bread, and it was delicious.
It is a two story home that has been converted into a restaurant. There is seating on both floors, on the patio outside, and an indoor patio. The art is done by Colorado artists. If you are like me and tired of the chains, this is a good stop.
