Dakotas Prime Steak & Chop House - Tyler
W/ chive & citrus buerre blanc
How a wonderful time at Dakotas. The food was perfect.
One of our favorite places to go on special occasions; birthdays and anniversaries.
The food was excellent! Our waiter was very good you would have never known it was his first night going solo!
The server and ambiance was wonderful. Steaks were just cooked poorly. Couldn’t eat them they were cooked so poorly.
Always good! Great atmosphere and great food. They make a mean martini too!
Great outside and bar atmosphere for Happy Hour or just drinks and appetizers
I took my wife to Dakota’s to celebrate her birthday. From the drinks, baked Brie appetizer, pecan crusted Chilean sea bass, filet, to the creme brûlée we were quite pleased.
Dakota’s never disappoints and has become our special occasion go to in Tyler. The waiter did an excellent job and the food was also great!
Ordered two filets. Both were to be medium. One came out well done and the other extremely rare. You would expect at these prices for them to come out correct. Probably will not eat there again.
Food was bad. Service was good. I ordered the prime rib, which was one of the specials, and it was by far the worst prime rib that I have ever eaten, 50% fat and 50% poor quality meat, My salad was okay, after I had the waitress take back the first one that was served to me. Mac & lobster was awful and baked potato was okay. Thankfully, we had reservations for brunch the next day at "The Grove Kitchen & Gardens", which was excellent and somewhat made up for our terrible and expensive experience at Dakota's.
Guests at Dakota's dressed poorly, some in shorts, and we were initially put at one of the worst tables in the place, with lots of unoccupied tables, which is a "game" that I dislike - get rid of the worst tables to the suckers who will take them and save the better ones. I'm from Dallas and I found Dakota's to be a very poor representative of Tyler and the East Texas area, both of which I love.
Good food, great service, a little pricy. I would go back but only on very special occasion because of price.
Birthday Dinner with Wife
Service was very professional , and the food was great. We had the prime rib and the sea bass.
Always excellent service, food and atmosphere. Had the halibut special and stuffed flounder. Tried the sweet potato fries this time and they were awesome. Think I will eat those with my meals always. Great experience once again! Thank you Dakotas.
Amazing food amazing waiter staff all around great!
Dinner was excellent. Service impeccable. Enjoyed the bar area after dinner. Will visit again.
We have regularly dined at Dakotas and even did the take out with them to help during the lock down. However, we have noticed a fall off with the quality overall the last couple of times we have visited.
Not sure what all the issues are, but for the cost of dining there, they simply must have higher quality
Anniversary dinner for the wife and I
Black tablecloths meet neighborhood watering hole! Our table was quiet and our Melody handled our party of six like a pro, from explaining the menu and specials to helping us with the wine be, even cooling it specially to our preference. Fairly priced wine list for the quality of the offerings. We sampled wonderful char grilled oysters, beautiful shrimp and seriously straight outta Annapolis crab cakes to start, and the calamari were tender strips with a tempura type batter... if you want rubbery greasy rings, skip these. The fresh bread and butter is worth the trip.
The 7oz filet is a perfect entree by itself, but topped with an enormous succulent Alaskan King Crab leg and you’re way beyond Oscar! Lobster Mac was outstanding, and the cheesecake and molten lava chocolate cake topped it off perfectly. Steve, Linda and Lana have all the bases covered here, and could not have been more gracious hosts. Great way to celebrate a special occasion, but there were plenty of regulars there, too.
Food was excellent along with the service. Pricing I felt was on the steep side
Steaks were cooked to perfection. All vegetables were delicious
Steak wasn't cooked properly. First time this has happened here. Had a server training. Could be she didn't put the order in correctly. Wasn't sending it back and hold up everyone else with us.
Service was great and staff was friendly. Very clean dining. Food was prepared perfectly! Delicious warm bread served with butter! Great cocktails! Perfect evening to spend our 25th year Anniversary. Will definitely return!
We went to Dakota’s for our 19th wedding anniversary. It not only was some of the best food we have had in the East Texas area, but the ambiance and service was intimate and very romantic. We loved it and will be back very soon!!
It was our anniversary, our waitress made us feel very welcomed. The food was amazing. Everything about it was great! Will be going again.
At a place like this, you should expect high-quality food at smaller portion sizes. The waiter was outstanding. He laughed with us, checked up on us the perfect amount of times, and made sure our wine and water glasses weren't empty.
It was great! My girlfriend and I are young but we’re treated with just as much respect as everyone else. The server was very attentive making sure everything was perfect for us. The food was delicious. And it was quiet. Excellent experience!
Everyone was professional and courteous. Always have a great experience.
We had a great evening, the service was very good. My fish was a bit overdone, but the blackberry cobbler for dessert made up for it.
For the price you would think the steaks would be on point! I ordered my steak medium well it came out rare. My husband ordered his steak well done it was cooked to medium Texas Road House flavor and cook of meats is 100% better hands down.
Service was very good
Appetizers were excellent
Steak was average
Got a complimentary desert for our anniversary which was very nice.
Great food and experience!
Love the crab cakes!! Always a good place to go. Highly recommended!
We go here for special Occasions with our friends. Our first time on Friday. It is Prime Rib night. What a fantastic piece of beef. Also the stuffed avocado melts in your mouth Well worth the price
Great ambience, great service, steak was a great cut but slightly undercooked. But I definitely am coming back!
I went for the oysters Rockefeller which were very good. Steak is very subpar for the price of a fake potatoes baked potato overall everything was what I expected I just wish that you would come up with a really good steak or a really good option oysters Rockefeller or spot on 80% of the time
62nd anniversary was a very nice experience at Dakotas for us. My wife had the sea bass and I had the blackened redfish, the sea bass was very good but the redfish was exceptional. Good job Dakotas.
Awesome experience. Our waitress was very impressive
Johnny was a great waiter and took
great care of us. The food was delicious. We will visit again when in the area.
Wonderful meal to celebrate fifty years of marriage
