We’ve always believed that dining should be a social occasion, a time when friends, family, and coworkers can enjoy great conversation over a great meal.

We believe in supporting our local artisans and staying connected to our Black Hills community. At a time when the area is growing and expanding, we are striving to keep the flavor of the region alive.

Inspired by the history of this area, both the aesthetics of the building and the diversity of the menu are true to our local roots, something no nation-wide franchise can duplicate. Certainly, there are other steakhouses out there, but none like ours.

From the first design to the actual construction, we have focused on creating a balance between upscale dining and a casual atmosphere-crafting a chic steakhouse where the kids are welcome too.

Had a fabulous meal here last night! Our waiter, Cig, suggested the bison filet and it was excellent!! So happy with our choice…flavorful and melted in my mouth! The mango peachtini was great, too!

We truly enjoyed our dining experience! Very attentive server. Quick food delivery also. We were visiting the area first time so we enjoyed a few appetizers that were representative of the area which were delicious. The rolls they brought out with the dinner were amazing. Quiet environment and cozy as well. Overall we highly recommend this restaurant. Portions were great and pricing was reasonable!

Service was amazing. We went to celebrate our anniversary & everyone was super friendly & wished us Happy Anniversary. We were sat in a section by ourselves with a beautiful fireplace & they lit it right after we set down. Our waitress was absolutely amazing, very attentive & was right on top of things. My only complaint was the steak I got came with sautéed onions & mushrooms & they were kinda soggy & tasteless. Other than that, everything else was perfect. Steak cooked to the correct temp, bacon wrapped asparagus was to die for & our dessert was one of the best we've ever had. Absolutely amazing experience & the perfect way to celebrate our anniversary. Will definitely go back.

Dakotah Steakhouse has the best steak in town. Staff is always friendly and even called to confirm our reservation. I always recommend Dakotah Steakhouse to friends and others looking for good food in the area. Look forward to eating there again.

Passing through Rapid City on a long road trip and wanted an easy, good meal. Definitely found it at the DS!. They recommend reservations as it is a very busy tourist area, and they are right to do so. Place was jammed on an off season Wednesday night. Service was quick and attentive, and the food was quite good. Prime rib was on point, drinks were good and arrived quickly. Would definitely go again next time we are passing through.

This was our first time to Dakota Steakhouse as we were staying in Rapid City one night. We came away thinking it was an ok meal; nothing special. We both had their prime rib and sides. The fried bread was a nice treat. Prices across the board for their beef seemed high given the average quality we experienced. It was a Tuesday night, so don’t know if we hit an off night with the chef. Service was ok, not overly friendly. He was knowledgeable of the menu; very businesslike. We had read a lot of great reviews so our expectations were pretty high. Probably would not go back until we tried a few other restaurants in the Rapid City area first.

We had the most amazing steaks at Dakotah! I had the small filet and my friend had the small sirloin. Our server, Marcus, was friendly and personable and really made it a memorable dinner for us. The steaks were so tender and flavorful, and the herb butter on top was just the right touch. We will definitely be back!

Had dinner within an hour of opening, but they were out of a lot of food; lamb, broccoli, another side dish, and the blue cheese salad dressing was in prep, but not available for 30 minutes. The food was good, and the service was great, very attentive. But for a high end steakhouse being out of both main and side dishes was disappointing.

Classy but not pretentious, western themed. Nice enough for special occasions but ok to wear jeans. Probably slightly less expensive than a Fleming’s or Ruth’s Chris. IMHO more flavorful seasonings makes their steak better. Also more unique choices reflecting local meats and produce. Service was perfect.

Birthday dinner for my wife at her favorite place. Reservations and all. We immediately noticed low-energy staff on duty this night. Then, we start to order and we hear, “no baked potato”. No mashed either. We ate french fries with our filet mignon. Who does that? Compensation? Nothing. Of all the times we’ve patronized this place, this was the disappointment I was hoping would never come. Super crappy birthday dinner. We should’ve declined dinner and left.
